This shoe is OK... tread wears out very quickly and the footbed feels very cheap.

I am a fan of Salomon,and SPEECCROSS-5-GTX is my second running shoes. I bought it last month. At first time, the insole(pad) of right side started moving(sliding) toward toe section and folded, I thought it because of rain and it got wet, But now this happens every time I wear it and after around 40 min run and specially in descending. I hope Salomon can help me about this, The shoes itself is good and I like the design, cushioning and flexibility

Das ist mein zweites Paar Speedcross und da es jetzt in den Herbst geht, habe ich diesmal goretex gewhlt und bin enttuscht. Nach einer vierstndigen Wanderung , zwei davon im Regen , hatte ich klatschnasse Fe. Da hatte ich mir vom Material mehr versprochen

Ich habe das Vorgngermodell und wre prinzipiell sehr zufrieden wre da nicht die zu Blasen fhrende Naht innen im Fersenbereich bzw. Achillessehne-Bereich. Nur beim Modell mit GTX. Ich kenne Blasen an meinen Fen eigentlich nicht.... Ich wollte heute das neue Modell kaufen in der Hoffnung mit Verbesserungen, leider wurde ich enttuscht. Beim Modell ohne GTX gibt es diese ominse Naht hingegen nicht, wenn es jemand also nicht ganz so wasserfest braucht vielleicht die bessere Option....

I've used Salomon trail shoes for circa 10 years and found them excellent. Upgrading at each version of the Speedcross. I love my Speedcross 4 and use on mixed trails. Speedcross 5 GTX is a solid shoe with heavy heel protection - too heavy for my liking. Bought on-line due to Lockdown restrictions. Great for tough, rocky trails, hard sole for mud. For me, too hard for mixed trails, particularly road running. Hard heel plant, heavier, rigid feel than my Speedcross 4. ps. I've retrieved my old worn ones from the bin and using the 5's for Hill running.

These are comfortable and the new design keeps more debris out, but they are significantly heavier than the Speedcross 4 (about 30g at size 11) and don't seem to breathe as well. The GTX model, which I bought, leaked after one run. I suspect this is a manufacturing issue with the seams as it's not limited to Speedcross (or Salomon for that matter).

I bought the regular Speedcross 5 so I assumed the Gortex model would be the same size. Turns out my 10.5 is a bit tighter and I need size 11. Iwore them thinking it would break in . Now I'm stuck . Send me a size 11 and we're good

After doing some slightly obsessive research, I settled on the speed cross 5 gtx because of their seemingly impressive specs. Unfortunately, they're possibly the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever bought. I'm a size 12uk and whilst the length is ok, they're extremely tight in the middle. They feel a bit like the plastic ice skates you hire at the ice rink. I've tried to grin and bear it hoping my feet/shoes will adjust but I just get blisters every time: I can't wait to take them off. The lace design is cool however most of the pressure is at the very top. The heel area is very solid and uncomfortable due to the junction where the goretex lining is. Which is the cause of my blisters and has already showing signs of wear/fraying after only approx 100km of use. (Bought these in Aug21 but didn't use over winter) The grip is incredible. The goretex works great. They look awesome but ultimately I feel like I've bought an expensive sports car with all the extras, but gives me chronic back ache to drive. These shoes aren't cheap and I blew my budget on something I can't wear so will have to find an cheaper alternative :( Wish I could go back in time and spend the money on something else or return/exchange them. Help would be hugely appreciated to find a solution but if not my wife will just remain mad at me for spending so much on something that sits in the closet.

I have owned a number of Speedcross variants, (Speedcross 3,4 & 5) and the sole on every pair has had a limited lifespan of a couple of months before the grip on the sole wore to nothing. Does the 2 year warranty cover wear & tear through daily use?

Have had three pairs now and not one single pair has made it to 6mths. Live in the highlands and mainly walk in the woods so substrate is soft, very sad as i love the shoe but at these prices they should last several years like my Merril ones have.

I have purchased 3 pairs of salomons over the past couple of years. I wear a 10.5 (which has to be one of the most common sizes). Salomon offers a shoe style in many different colors yet when I want to purchase a pair i'm left choosing the only color they have or none at all! It's frustrating for sure to click on one and see that they have absolutely 0 sizes available! Don't even list them if your never going to carry them!

Very comfortable. Excellent traction. But weak support. My ankle tends to bend very easily on these.

j'ai achet? ce produit pour suivre le comfort et le design mes pr?c?dentes version 3 et 4. Grosse deception, le pied est en forme de banane dans le chausson, la chaussure est plus rigide que les versions pr?c?dentes, donc adieu le confort. Pour ce qui est du Fit, il est plus large que la version 3 et 4, ce qui est tr?s bien maintenant. Pour ce qui est du design, le talon arri?re est vraiment tr?s grossier, la version 5 n'est plus dans la tendance de la Speedcross 3 & 4.

The shoes have amazing traction and are exceptionally comfortable. I always buy the gore-Tex Salomon shoes because I love their waterproofness. I am hard on them and they do not let me down.

Usually a 10.5. Shoes felt fine length wise but were tight. Figured they would loosen up. Wore them out twice and they are still tight. Now out of luck.

Do not buy these shoes unless you plan on wearing them strictly in sand or soft surfaces. The treads will wear away immediately. Total waste of money.
