Very comfortable but the bottom soles are not durable.

These shoe are good enough. I would really prefer more of a running moccasin. This shoe is fine for people who like lots of cushion but has too much padding and drop for my taste. I bought them because the puregrit 6's i owned lasted 1000 miles.
In my opinion the perfect trail shoe would be zero drop, firm rubber sole about 4 mil thick with no arch support nor heal counter. Same upper material from the puregrit. little bit wider toe box, narrow heal.
However i am aware that capitalism exists so i doubt there's any financial incentive for shoe manufacturers to make my running shoe dreams come true. Anyway i can always buy a cowhide and make my own shoes but somehow it seems easier to just compromise my values and buy a less than perfect shoe from a manufacturer, and the puregrit is better than most in it's class.
I don't really have any more to say on the subject. Have a lovely day.

The shoe is really comfortable for leisure. I love the casual design and the ability to where these at work all day. The heal is a little low and if the laces are not tight, the shoe could potentially slip. I personally would not run in these shoes due to lack of support.

Great traction but not as comfortable as my adrenalines, but work well for easy hikes and walking dogs

Feel too much of the ground wish they had a little more bounce. Also they slip off the heal a bit in the back, tried different types sock the shoe just slips no matter how tight I tie them.

I received my shoes about a week and a half ago i took them right out on the trail i love to run. About 30 miles later the tread is already breaking off the shoe. I run mountain trails my 5 mile trail is about a 2140ft accent pretty gnarly terrain. very rocky. i did not expect to see so much damage to the soles that soon.
I love the fit and they are really comfortable and have a killer look. Overall i'm not sure they are going to last in my world.

The shoe looks better than what it performs. Great looking shoe. But it's not what I thought it should be for a trail shoe. The support in the shoe is weird at best. I will be returning this pair. First pair of Brooks I didn't like.

I'm disappointed with the ongoing narrowing of the toe box. Length of the tongue, and roll around the back of the ankle caused blistering with some socks. Brooks has been my best fit & support shoe for a decade, but the evolution of the last makes each iteration increasingly difficult for me to embrace. This year I am again trying other brands for a better fit. I still remember fondly my shoes from 2011!

These shoes are light weight and seem well made. I think it will last a long time. Just okay lateral support. Good traction.
They are so much longer than expected so the fit isn't great. I had to get a full size smaller.
Not as good as the Pure Grit 6 or 7. (The 6 are the best shoe I have ever had).

Honestly it was just okay. I have been a fan of the Pure Grit shoe for a long time as i mostly run trails. Too many of elements of the original design seemed missing here, less cushion and support, not as nice of a roll. I hope some things revert for Pure Grit 9. Not giving up on Brooks, best shoes I've had most of the time.

Very disappointed. Poor quality. This is my second pair of Pure Grit 8s. I loved my first pair so much that when they wore out after 11 months, I ordered a second pair. Immediately, I noticed that there seemed to be a slight downgrade in quality. The new pair was slightly larger, but not by a full half size (as if I'd accidentally been sent a mis-sized pair). They were just slightly looser on my feet, slightly less comfortable. I considered sending them back, but ultimately decided it was too much trouble. Now, after just four months of wear, my new Pure Grit 8s are wearing out in exactly the same spot that my original pair had after 11 months. The fabric is wearing out and splitting where the upper fabric meets the rubberized covering at my little toe. I will not be purchasing another pair of Brooks. They're just not worth the money.

The shoes felt great when i put them on. When I started to walk the heel felt non existent and the toe of the shoe felt like it was made wrong. I took them for a run just to be sure, it was just as bad. The sides feel great and the shoes feel great when you aren't moving. So... if you're using these to sit at a desk you will love them.

The tread on this shoe wears down way too fast - and I'm not even a serious trail runner.

I have ordered multiple pairs of PureGits over the years all size 11. Love them. Wanted to love these too but the sizing is off. Size 11s didnt work. The heel felt really awkward and felt like it was slipping. Others have mentioned that as well. I had to send them back. Wanted to size down but read others saying nothing helped with the heel slipping. Returned them and got Cascadias. I hope the next version of PureGit is like the other models.

These shoes are fine but missing upper lace holes so you can't do a heel lock lace tie. So basically useless for trail running where you want a tight lace up for stability so these make a terrible trail shoe.

This was a nice feeling light shoe, but it was sized so large that it brought me down a full size from my normal 10.5. When sized best I still had heel slippage that many others mentioned.

looked like a good shoe, recieved it and all the reviews about the heel cup are spot on. terrible design. this is my first and maybe only pair of brooks shoes. no idea how this design passed the execs into production. no matter how tight you get the laces, your heel is constantly sliding around up and down in that area. the sole does feel good, if that heel cup had any security at all this would be a great shoe.

Fits perfectly, but gave me blister on ball of foot. Never had a shoe give me a blister on the ball of my foot before.

I love Pure Grit 7, but the change for the 8 results in no heel support and no matter how tight I tried to tighten the laces my heels slipped too much. Unfortunately it was too much and made the shoes completely unwearable. Hopefully version 9 will fix this.

The fit was good I could not secure my heal to keep the shoe from slipping. I even used 2 special running lace ups that have have used in the past.

I have worn Puregrits since Purgrit 2. There have been some I have liked more than others but I had to return the Puregrit 8. There were two reasons 1) The heel changed so much that my foot slipped no matter what I tried. 2) The upper hole for the "runners lace" was removed. This made it impossible to keep my heel slipping. I hope you fix these two issues on the next model.

Why did you have to change the shoe? I loved my PureGrit 7 shoes but my heel kept slipping out of the 8s. I had to return them.

The toe box is more narrow than previous models (7) , it is longer which is pointless because it narrows the toe box.
The heel cup and the ankle area is too thin, my heels keep coming up which is not stable not stable, my ankles roll more.
I wore it 4 times to make sure it was not a breaking in issue but it just sucks.
The puregrit 7 required no breaking in it was like a glove After two days I was confident enough to wear it in a OCR and it was fabulous
