I think these are exactly as advertised! Good solid shoe. My mistake is I used my Cascadias to determine my size when I ordered and so these end up being big for me by half a size. There isn't as much padding on the tongue and interior as the Cascadia. Regardless, its a great shoe!

This is my first low/no rise shoe and it takes some adjustment. I could tell immediately when I put them on that they were very flat with no rise in the heel. I am still getting used to them but in my first day of use they felt good until around mile 9. At that point I started to feel some discomfort at the ball of my left foot. I really believe this will go away once I am used to them. They are super flexible out of the box so there isn't really a break in period for anything but the sole.

I really like these shoes. They're super comfortable and light and I was surprised that they fit so well since I have very narrow feet. I do wish that there was another pair of holes for the shoelaces closer to the ankle.

This shoe is perfect out of the box. The sole grips well and unlike the defiance I do not have any concerns with running on wet rocks or pavement. The only thing that would make it a perfect shoe would be a deeper he'll pocket. Overall this is my go to shoe for most activities.

Firm and supportive. It's taking a bit of time for my feet to get used to them. Overall liking them for my hikes.

I like the shoes but not as much as my old ones. I bought a half size smaller than the old ones based on all the reviews indicating these run big. They fit ok if I wear thin socks, little small if I use heavier wool socks. I've worn them on a couple of hikes totaling about 10 miles on some steep rocky trails and they seem to have good grip.

The shoe has great traction and comfort. Encounter some problems will heal slippage a couple miles into hikes/runs. Other than that the shoe is great.

These were my first ever trail runners. So far I have been really happy with them. I have about 25 miles on them so far. My only issue is that just about every run I have to stop and tighten them up. I tie them tight when I start off, but it seems like the shoe loosens, or maybe my foot just settles in and about 2 miles in I have to stop and tighten the laces.

Good shoe, excellent fit and choice for running on dirt roads while still feeling the road.

For me the fit is good. I have used it on road and trails, flat and hills, as this is part of my routine during Covid. I work from home and try to not drive anywhere. The older generation of this shoe wrapped my heel better, but no slipping issues so far.

I have to take one star off, only because I didn't feel the same "magic" the first time I inserted my foot. I was trying on many a shoes at REI. I tried on the PureGrit 7 and it felt like a "perfect/magical" fit to my foot at the time. These still feel good, don't get me wrong. I've done about 5 runs in them now, all pain-free. But something about the fit has changed ever so slightly.

Overall it's nice for the rugged terrain. Don't feel it in my knees and ankles as much as I did using the new ghosts on trails. Fit is pretty true, just a little loose in the heel as others have stated. Not a bad shoe at all. Comfy as well.

like 'em. right foot a bit hard on my foot, slight pain when I run. probably not the shoe. this is my 3rd pair and otherwise just love the fit and neutral impact. I am an urban road and trail runner, and I wish there was a shoe somewhere in-between a true off road and black top I also like the toned down aesthetic of the shoe! nice job!

This was my third generation of True Grit. It is lighter than the first two with no tongue cushioning. At first I was surprised at the feel; much different than the previous generations which felt like a glove with good traction. But after using them on some rocky trails, I came to like them. They have good protection over rocks and surprisingly good traction.

I bought these shoes for running on gravel, dirt, and pretty much anything other than pavement. The sole & toe cover are tough as well as protective and the weather sealed section of the toe keeps my socks dry when running on wet grass. To that end they work better outdoors than most other Brooks shoes I've tried. I have 2 problems that keep me from giving these shoes the fifth star. First, the heel of these shoes is very thin and fits loosely at the base of my Achilles' tendon. This means if I get into even a little mud my shoe pops off unless I stay up on my toes. The second issue compounds the first issue because the shoes lack an extra lace hole at the top which prevents me from using the "lace lock" or "heel lock" knot. It's a good all around running shoe but could be improved for wet trail running.

I purchased the PureGrit 8s to replace my worn out Mazama's. So far I really enjoy the ride of the PureGrits. I have about 50 miles on them so far and the traction has been great. The tread is a great balance between trail and road. The heel is a bit loose and it takes some getting used to. It just slides a little but hasn't been a problem or created any hotspots. If you are looking for a lightweight trail shoe these are great. I would buy them again.

Have only worn twice now, but like them so far. Bought these for taking the dog to the park on gravel trails and grass, but I have to walk on pavement to get there. Fit: Very good, fits my moderately wide forefoot snugly but comfortably. Build: Feels like durable materials, and I like the extra waterproofing around the toe, sides and heel. Not waterproof on top, but the material is pretty dense so dew or rain is somewhat blocked. Sole: Thick enough to protect from unexpected rocks, thin enough to let you feel what's under your foot. Minimal/moderate cushioning. Only concern that caused me to rate them 4 instead of 5 is that the outer-sole is pretty thin and the raised welts are rather isolated. Makes for good grip on turf, dirt or gravel, but I'm afraid it'll wear out too quickly walking on pavement since I'm using it on both kinds of surface. Trying to wear mainly when it rains so as to reduce friction wear, but they're also a little slick when wet. Very much optimized for off-road, not "hybrid" wear.

Another good shoe- Brooks has been my go to brand for 25 years. I'm not as swift as I used to be but it isn't the fault of the shoe.

Nice trail shoe. Little arch support and the inside seam rubs right at the arch.

PureGrit 6 were the best shoe I've ever had. PG 7 were solid as well, although not as good as the 6. Such a great shoe for working out at the gym. Lots of lateral support. Most running shoes don't have side to side support so the foot falls outside of the sole when cutting or putting pressure. But these shoes are stiffer and have that support. Good for balance excercises. The PG 8 are a little step down. Here is why: 1. Heels slip a little now. 2. They are very long now. I typically wear a size 9. I almost need an 8 in these shoes. But with that said, I do still like them a lot.

I am moving from road to trail. The first 2 times wearing these shoes I was not a huge fan. Once I got used to the feel of them I felt fast and connected to my trail. The fit is good, though I would like one more loop to lace to tighten around my foot. Again the more I wear them the less that bothers me. One strange complaint is they don't have the brooks logo very visible.

I wish there were one extra set of holes for the laces to come up a bit higher. It's good to have your shoes really secure while trail running and these don't do as good a job as previous generations of this model.

On flat surfaces and downhill they are very smooth but going up hill the puregrits tear at my heal and have given me nagging blisters. I have also only had them for a month and the bottoms are pretty worn down already.

A well-constructed shoe but the toe box and overall fit was a little wider than its predecessor. Always love Brooks shoes but may not have purchased this one if I had not bought it online. Look forward to the next version. Hoping it fits a little bit better.
