I run on the beach everyday in SoCal. Have had many pairs of Brooks. The only problem with these shoes is that too much sand enters the shoe through the mesh. I always have run in trail runners to avoid this problem...didn't work this time.

Coming from lone peaks my feat were less sore after a long day. However, (maybe because of the hard back and more structured shoe) I had bad heel pain and some blisters. After 300 miles the back material had worn through to hard plastic.

This is my second pair of Cascadia 14s. Shoes feel great and are ready to go right out of the box. Unfortunately, two weeks of training and the sole is beginning to separate at the front of the toe box. Normally 5 stars for the Cascadia, but durability is not there with this pair.

Hole in fabric developed on the inside of the heel after about 80 miles of walking on both shoes. I use it as a walking shoe, where I walk 10 miles every other day on paved streets. Was sent a second pair, and another hole developed in the inside of the heel after about 100 miles. 3 stars because my feet feel good after walking 10 miles in them in a day, I still use them, and customer support sent a second pair. Not 5 stars because, well I think they should last longer than 100 miles before breaking down. I know your next thought is well maybe they're not sized or fit right, and I've had discussions with my wife, who used to fit shoes as a job, and she doesn't think the sizing is off for my pairs.

If you need more cushion support try the Ghost 12. I need a better arch and foot support.

The reason for the 3 star rating is do to the upper toe area. This is my third pair obviously I like the shoe but for the upper toe design. I am constantly punching holes in the top of the shoes. The toe piece should have the rubber extended to cover the toe area to prevent this from happening. The shoe fits well and last up to about 500 miles until it starts to degrade. On average we walk 45-50 miles a week on hard surfaces. I have gone 6 months between shoes using cork inserts for more cushioning.

I think they are good not great. I personally feel the Cascadia is losing its luster. I prefer the earlier generations.

Too narrow as mentioned in other reviews. Even sizing up didn’t remedy the problem. Unfortunate. I really liked the style shoe.

I personally found these shoes to run narrow. After purchasing my usual size and my usual with my big toes felt cramped in the toe box and after my first run I definitely felt the pain after my run. I switched up to a wider with and it helped. I'm really impressed with the sticky outsole and the lugs on these shoes! I love that I can go and run on terrain with gravel, large rocks and uneven terrain and feel secure in the shoe. I do wish there were a few additional color options for the wide widths. The grey option isn't terrible but I absolutely loved the Orange. Overall I'm impressed by this shoe and I'm excited to see how long these shoes last.

I found the sole of the shoe to be less grippy and compliant than the 13. The upper mesh would make it a better summer shoe than a winter shoe.

Great leisure shoe, went for a run for first time in them around 3 miles. Feet were barking from the get go/ looking forward to another run to see if they broke in at all

I am using my 56th pair of Cascadias, so the basic design of the last and shoe has worked for me for years in trail 100s and other long trail adventures. I run/hike in the desert and the high mountains, and always use gaiters. But the Cascadia 14 (and other recent Cascadias) is not perfect. For whatever reason, Brooks has put a very open weave fabric in the uppers that lets in way too much dirt and sand, so I have to stop and empty the shoe out on the trail. The open weave is great for road runners who want a "cooler" run, but on the trail, it is a liability. Brooks, please bring back a tighter fabric for the uppers!.

Upper has good fit, but overall the shoes have a 'clunky' feel compared to other trail shoes I have used recently (Speedgoats).

I use these for hiking the PCT. They got a hole in them from my big toe rubbing against the top of the shoe after about 100 miles.

Worn multi generations of the Cascadia. Always look for something better and end up with Cascadias. The 14s are a real disappointment for me. The fit is poor. I cannot lock my heel in place and the overall comfort is poor. I put my Adrenaline XX on for a road walk and was struck by how they highlighted how uncomfortable the Cascadias have been after four days of continuous wear. Ran in Brooks road and trail shoes for years. These don't work. Maybe if you have a wide heel. I've always had suspect traction from Cascadias on wet rocks. I was hoping this rubber compound and tread would fix it.

Hmm, this is a tough one. I searched for "Best trail running shoes" and these came up often so I bought. Now that I have them I wonder. The search had to be fixed because they aren't. They're a pretty good everyday sneaker, but for trail runningnah. Trail running with a white bottom soul? Not likely. I like the laces and the way you can tuck them into the tongue and they look good. Overall, okay sneaker but NOT a trail running shoe.

Sizing seems different. More stiff as well. Not the pillow case I am used to.

I'm preparing to ship them back. They're nice for a pair of walking or hiking shoes; although, are not my top pick for running.

Since the 8s, I feel like Brooks takes 1 step forward two steps back with the Cascadias. Sizing is narrow for me on the 14 version. Holding up soles of a size men's 12.5 Divide to the sole of a men's 12.5 Cascadia is hilarious. What a difference. Massive. It is like they are made by two different shoe companies. The Cascadia is way smaller. Great to see the rock guard on these and the gaiter trap, and wonder how these features were overlooked on the Divide. Wife's experience with the Cascadia 14s has not been good. 50 miles in and the interior heel is totally trashed. The thin you give has brought her a lot of pain. She has returned these.

So different. Love my Cascadia 10s. These 14s... I prefer wearing my old ones more. I got the same size that I've worn in the past and I feel like my feet are swimming. I'm trying to be patient and break them in but my heel slides around, there are strange pressure points, and I don't feel excited to wear these new shoes. Also not a fan of the colors offered this year. I don't want white because I run in mud. Other colors are boring or neon. I like color, have old red and orange ones, but neon is a bit much. I'm definitely in the fence about returning these. I've loved wearing Cascadias for 6 years, but I might be switching things up because of these.

Fit is ok, right shoe seems slightly smaller. I have major issues with this redesign. Brooks, what are we paying so much for? The mid side straps are all removed, previous version had 6. The inside tongue material is an uncomfortable, less breathable material. My foot doesn’t feel secure in this version. Very disappointed because Cascadias were perfect. At least there are cool new colors.

Durability has gone down the drain with the last few iterations of the Cascadia, and it definitely seems like they are *designed to fail* prematurely. I guess some MBA-type at Brooks is making this business decision to hike profitability? Cascadias used to be so fundamentally reliable, now, every new iteration is a total crapshoot. I can't for the life of me figure out the color design choices, either. Every shoe is atrocious, and I'm embarrassed to be seen with them on. Someone with some basic aesthetic taste needs to be involved in the process here, and when a designer proposes "Maroon, fluorescent yellow, and gray!", that person should be fired.
