It's been a while since I trained in Brooks. Brook's Beast was my last pair several years ago. I usually wear a men's 12, but ordered a 12-1/2. Fits great, and, as always, quality construction which I've always counted on from Brooks. Glad to be back in a pair of Brooks. Happy Trails!

Just returned to running after a 30+ yr lay off.
The Cascadia seem to be helping my 69 yr old knees from rebelling completely. Finished a 1/2 marathon, (walked the last 5k) and it felt great. No complaints.

Used for hiking. After four days off trail the uppers are ratty--exterior mesh worn through in several places and ankle piping torn in two. However. no separation of sole and upper. Fabulous traction/grip. If you step on the sharp spine of a large rock, the sole of your foot is very well protected. The lacing system is the best I've ever seen; I'm old, and the degree to which they can be opened is a real convenience. The uppers admit dirt the size of coarse flour (easily handled by good wool socks). On the other hand, I waded in them and just kept going; both shoes and socks were pretty dry in 15 minutes. I opened them up before I turned in, and they were truly dry in the morning. Nothing's perfect, but I like this shoe very well.

Not as comfortable as the Ghost 10. Does provide good ankle support during ground holes.

Brooks seems to have changed their sizing. I have been running in size 11s for years but purchased size 11 and they were too big. Returned them and got a size 10.5. So far so good. I have an earlier version of the Cascadia and these seems to provide the same level of support, comfort and traction. Only a few runs in so far but the sizing is the biggest take away.

Great fit. Great protection. Excellent trail shoe, and OK on streets.
The 14 waffle seems softer, and seems to wear faster than the 13 did. If that is true, I suspect that means that the 14 has less friction on rocks.

The fit was great though the width was too narrow. They are not as wide as a new balance EE width.

These are well made, comfortable and breathe well. I'm a HOKA guy. I bought these to be my trail running shoes and to give Brooks a shot as the are my first pair of brooks. They are not nearly as soft as my HOKA Clifton 6, which I still prefer overall. they are a much better looking par of shoes though. All in all, I'm happy with my purchase.

Fit is great, grip is great. I wish they had a tiny bit more cushion for trail running, but that's just personal preference. And I left off one star because the laces aren't quite long enough in my opinion if you use all of the lace holes. If you don't use the top lace holes they feel a little loose, and if you use all of them they feel a bit snug on the ankle.

Great shoe overall. The outstanding rubber bottom is great traction on rocks. Just really great. The toe box protection could be a bit more beefy for a trail shoe. it could be just me, but I end up kicking rocks sometimes, especially on a two plus hour run, and a tiny bit more protection would be nice. But I'm splitting hairs. This shoe also seem to fit a bit different than the ghost which I wear for street running. The ghost runs a bit smaller, or this shoe bigger which ever way you want to slice it.

My review is about sizing of the shoe.
My left foot is larger than my right. A 9.5 Brooks Cascadia wide fit my right foot fine, but left foot is constrained.
In New Balance 990s a 9.5 extra wide (4E) fits great, and in Merrill Moab's a 9.5 wide (2E) is a perfect fit.
For me, in the Brooks 1/2 size longer is required for a good fit. It may be the same for others.

This is a good solid running shoe. The ground contact is solid and you certainly feel connected to the road as you run. My feet feel a little lower in the shoe than I like, but overall it's a great trail running shoe.

I've put about 25 miles on my Cascadia 14's, and I am really liking them. They have good cushion and excellent grip, a wide enough toe box for me. I normally wear size 11 in everyday shoes and size up to 12 for running shoes. I thought these were going to be too big at first but they ended up being perfect.

I've had the Cascadia 13 for a year now and use as a hiking/backpacking shoe. They are great and saved me when I was dealing with achilles tendinitis. These shoes allowed me to keep going and finally stop the pain. I haven't worn the 14 much yet but the short hikes I have worn them on indicate they will be as good if not better than the previous pair.

Love these shoes! The rock plate is AMAZING! I can't feel the gravel digging up into my sole and that's such a blessing! There are just two things that would make this shoe beyond amazing. Adding more colors to the wide collection (currently there is one color to choose from - kind of boring) and increasing the toe box just a smidge (I need to size up in the width dept. to make this shoe work). Other than that, I'm very happy with these shoes!

I'm a long-time fan of the Cascadia series, so I was excited to try out this version. They perform great, and they're noticeably lighter than the last version that I had. However, my only concern when a technical piece becomes lighter is that durability could be sacrificed, so time will tell if that's the case with the Cascadia 14. My last pair (i think it was the 12) was VERY durable and lasted a long time- I'm a big guy at ~215 pounds, so I love a durable, long-lasting trail-running shoe. I don't race, so having an ultra-light shoe is not my first priority; durability is more important. I run on very dry, compact dirt and rock in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada's here in Reno, NV.
My only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that the elastic mesh that connects the tongue to the base of the shoe (see picture) has begun to fray/rip, and this happened very early on- within my first dozen runs. It happened on both shoes, on all four sides. This hasn't yet affected the performance of the shoe, so it's not a huge deal, but I was surprised that it happened so early on. That said, the rip hasn't gotten visibly worse since I first noticed it, so that's good. All-in-all, the Cascadia 14 continues to prove to be a great trail shoe!

These Brooks Cascadia felt great. Everything about them was perfect. Unfortunately after a 20 mile mountain run my feet hurt like crazy and stayed in pain for a few weeks. The problem is that the cushion is too firm. Make it more like the Ghost and I would wear them out.

Fit, size and looks were good, but the shoe squeaked. Wore them around the house, but they still served as an early warning system for those around me. Purchased another pair--New Balance--and they don't squeak.

The wider toe box on the 14 compared to the 13 has made the shoe more comfortable for all my trail workouts. The traction is excellent, and the shoes have held up in the first month to heavy moisture. The tops do seem to be wearing a bit quickly. I wish the laces were studier to minimize tying on the trail. I ordered a second pair, not willing to roll the dice on a model 15.

Terrible spot on the tongue that rubbed and caused pain on the upper side of my ankle. Had to return.

Solid trail/mountain running shoe, with fantastic traction. Living in the east coast, and training on rocky/root bound trails, this shoe has excelled over its competitors in responsiveness, traction and largely in durability. The AT and white mountains KILL shoes, and thus far these have held up better than most "trail runners" that I have used recently. After about 150 miles the R laces frayed (bumping them to a 4 star review), but other than that they look pretty good still. If Brooks wants to test trail runners, the AT in New England is the place to sus them out.

Hi Guys, first of all I'm a super loyal fan of your shoes and, have had terrific success walking, running and hiking on the Shore. I didn't have the tremendous durability that I'm used to with the 14's. The tongue peeled off and the uppers tore quite quickly (probably due to me not picking my feet up:)) on hikes. I'm glad to see that you've gone back to the 13 toe protection for the 15's and I've ordered a new pair and can't wait to try them out. I look forward to rating them a 5 star once again. Thanks again for doing the research and always trying to improve your products for those of us that depend on our feet to take us to some terrific places.

I want to love these. But. This is my 3rd pair of Brooks shoes. First time with an "overuse" injury. Both prior pairs lasted 300 miles. I'm 125 into these and I'm dealing with toe and foot issues.
