If you liked the previous iterations of this shoe, prepare to be disappointed by the Cascadia 14s. For one, the sizing is completely different from previous models. I ordered the same size in that I’ve been wearing in 2 previous pairs of Cascadia 13s and the new ones are way too roomy. The toe box is so large that your foot slides around inside the shoe. Also, there’s way more room in the heel of the new model. I’ve been reduced to walking over technical sections of trail that I previously run because I’m so concerned about my foot moving in the shoe and slipping. Probably the most annoying problem with the fit is the resulting blisters. Prior to these shoes, I’d logged more than 500 miles this year in Cascadia 13s without a single blister. My first long run in these shoes, I got blisters on the inner part of each foot. I’ll use these shoes until they wear out but I’ll be shopping for a new trail shoe after this, and probably not from Brooks.

The first thing I would like to point out with these shoes are the toe box. For me I noticed the toe box tapers in very quickly and is much narrower than the ghost or the adrenaline shoe line from Brooks. I tried wearing my normal size am I normal width and found after a short 30-minute walk the width of the shoes were too narrow. I was hesitant to go up a wider size because I thought it would be too large of a shoo-in vol. I tried out the shoes today for 15 minute recovery run and and pleasantly surprised at how well they fit. If you find that you are getting a good length in the shoe but your toes are feeling a little crunch or uncomfortable after wearing them try looking at a wider option. I do wish there were more color options available for people who are purchasing wider shoes. Gray and blue combo isn't terrible but I really loved the orange color. With that being said I'm also truly impressed by The Rock plate and the lugs provided. I did not have any trouble walking in the snow and felt like the sticky outsole made a huge difference in gripping the ground and not being concerned about slipping period and the rockleigh definitely provided that extra Comfort when going over gravel and larger rocks. I honestly didn't feel any of the uneven terrain or anything to make my feet feel uncomfortable. Other than the narrow toe box and the lack of colors for wider feet the shoes pretty amazing!

This is my 9th pair of Cascadia’s. Obviously I like this shoe and I especially love the fact that they are available in 2E width now. That extra width in the toe box goes a long way after the first hour of running. This is a great trail running shoe!!!

My left knee prevents me from running (over 60 now), but I walk as much as possible. I have been having some difficulty in finding shoes that are comfortable for my feet with my current activities. These shoes are the best I have found recently. The web site questions helped me select shoes that would fit my skeleton and gait, I recommend that highly. Other major shoe companies have become so inconsistent for me, I am new to Brooks and hope I have found a place that I can get consistent comfort! So far, so good!

Extra room in the toe box is great -- better fit than the "lopsided" long hikes shoes that have become so popular. Have done Adventure racing, Ironman,. marathons, trail running and lots of backpacking. Best so far for lightweight comfort and breathability with traction sole for rocks. I am buying another pair

If you’re a brooks lover you’ll love this trail shoe. This was the first pair of trail shoes I’ve purchased. Little to no break in time. Plenty of cushion. Color of the shoe much better than previous versions. Good tread. Fits true to size. Great product.

I am a Brooks fan and have several pair of Brooks sneakers and I like the color scheme of the new Cascadia 14. Fit is good overall but I don't care for the sewn-in tongue. Cushioning is good but not overly soft.

I've been wearing Brooks for about a year and have the 11's. In this style the toe box was too big and the heel slid around. Sadly I have to return.

True to running shoe size in length, but roomy everywhere else - including the heel. I did an 18 miler on hard single track out of the box and stopped several times in an attempt to lock my foot down comfortably. No bueno. As a result, my foot never felt secure - like it was riding on top of the shoe. I also found the mid sole very stiff and eventually resorted to altering my stride to more of a heel strike in order to smooth out the ride. I was really excited about this iteration of the Cascadia but it simply didn't work with my particular foot shape and running style.

I had a pair of the old Cascadias for years and loved them. These are very different. Much much wider than the previous ones. Not great if you have a narrowish feet. I’ll be returning them. Thanks Zappos for the 30 day Runtime Guarantee!

Brooks. Come on get in the game. Why have you not looked at a persons foot before designing these shoes. Our feet are not pointed at the end, my foot is well foot shaped. Even in 2e these shoes are pointed. Unless your a leprechaun this is not typical. Start making shoes foot shaped. And why do people with wider widths always get stuck with not the best color? All gray on the 2e, not good. Remember the width of ones foot has nothing to do with how fast or tough they are. I have 8 pairs of Brooks in my rotation but until you make a good trail shoe I have to look elsewhere for the dirt love.

Read a few reviews prior to buying. I'm not quite agreeing with them. In particular in regards to the heel collar. It's a great fit for me. The comfort is incredible. No knee discomfort after a fast paced down hill of about 3 miles. I do have to say that a "break in" mileage is required.

Excellent shoe for hiking and mountain biking! Hard soles minimize impacts on my feet, and the tread is super sticky when on rocks or slick trails. Best shoes I've had in a long time!

Couldn't ask for more from a trail shoe. I run trails in Colorado and these are a perfect blend of cushion and responsiveness for this terrain.

Great shoe, this is the 4th pair I've owned over the years- always fits well- I've left a couple of times and always come back. Fantastic traction for trail- compliments the Ghost that I run in on the Road. I work for a large outdoor retailer, and have many many customers that are complimentary of the Cascadia.

Very comfortable. My son has flat feet which causes his ankles to go in and his feet to hurt by the end of the day. You can visually see a difference in his stance and he says they are comfortable all day.

Cascadia 14 performs well in both surfaces (road and trails). Excellent options for long running on the trails during your relax running or during races. I used for an Adventure race and it was an excellent choice to go with. Highly recommended

Incredibly comfortable which surprises since that's what is so often sacrificed with additional trail support. Also, the extra protection from trail debris and unevenness makes it great on the feet. Best shoe I've worn in a long time and since it's also stylish, I wear them all the time!

This is my second pair of the 14s. I have been wearing Brooks Cascaidas for over 10 years. I think I started with the 6s. They are great shoes, very comfortable, hold up well to trail running and are good for just everyday casual wear.

The sizing does run a little tight, however the hype for this brand is certainly warranted.
