I'm an older gentleman and basically a walker but I wanted a sneaker that was comfortable, wide and stabile. So far Brooks has checked all those boxes. I haven't had the opportunity to put to many miles on these shoes considering they are only a month old. I was turned on to the Brooks brand by my youngest son who has been running in Brooks shoes for 18 years now, first as a cross country runner in high school and when he joined the Air Force he continued his running as training. He still wears Brooks and swears by them, so my wife and I decided to finally give them a try and we couldn't be more happy.

These are good shoes. I like the Ghost 12 shoes better - better fit for my feet.

This is still a great shoe. I have a narrow heel, normal width, but thin front of my foot. The previous version seemed to be nice and snug around the heel, but the 14 seems a little looser at the heel and a little more bulky (vertically ... up and down) at the front. I use this running version for walking because the Brook's walking shoe is not mesh and looks like and old man's shoe. I also like this shoe's motion control.

I would rank it fair - the feel of the shoe for me is lacking in control but great in cushioning.
Really not fair of me to rank it - since I can only buy a couple pair of Brooks Shoes a year because of my shoe size. I try not to buy the same pair twice back to back, sometimes one has to.
Thanks

I always love Brooks shoes. My feet are long and narrow (15 Narrow B), and this company is one of the few that make my shoe size. These shoes are no different than the rest. Perfect for my feet! This model specifically feel extra "bouncy" or give a sense of "plushness" under my feet. I like that a lot. I will by this pair again. Praise aside, this shoe's tread is terrible. I pick up small rocks that wedge in between the tread grooves. I have to pick out nearly 4 rocks a day. Not exactly perfect. Nevertheless, this is a great shoe.

It is a really good shoe. The reason I rated it a 4 is because I think it is to expensive. Love the stretchy laces that stay tied. Also love the fact that this shoe is available in a "B" width.

I bought these for work after some of my hospital coworkers were talking about how comfortable their brooks shoes were. I originally bought some ghost 12s but had to return since my feet were killing me after being on my feet all day. I then went to the brooks website and used the shoe finder tool which recommended the addiction 14s. I?ve been wearing the addictions for the last two weeks and like them a lot better. A little uncomfortable after eight hours but none of the pain I was experiencing with the ghost.

My other running shoe is the adrenaline. They seem to offer more comfort where the addiction offers more support. They are both great running shoes, hands down they?re both better than any other shoe I?ve run in.

I?ve been a Brooks customer for over 30 years and sold them for almost 5 years. My go to shoe the last 10-15 years has been the Beast after wearing the Addiction for years. The Beast 16 experience was so bad I almost stopped buying Brooks. I decided to give the Addiction another try and am pleased so far. Can?t run like I used to but walking 25-30 miles a week and need the extra support and cushion for a bigger frame.

Usually wear Dyad which I slip my inserts into and take off. Had to break in Addiction for a few days but seem fine today(first time I?ve worn them all day).

Shoe is very comfortable, but the sole tends to "stick" on carpeted surfaces making me be careful to not trip.

I would have given the ADDICTION 14 NARROW B a PERFECT 5 - even a perfect 10 except for ONE MAJOR DESIGN FLAW THAT COULD EASILY BE FIXED . The width at my heel is PERFECT The width at my midfoot is PERFECT The width at the ball of my foot is PERFECT I have NEVER in all my long , intensive and extensive running carrier experienced such a perfect fit for my foot EXCEPT FOR MY BIG TOE . The roof is too low and the side in too narrow . After 6-7 runs the fabric in the th e area collapses and shrinks shoving my big toe nail down into my toe from above and also shoves it in from the side and if the wrinkle in the ntip of the shoe on my big toe side forsm right in front of my big toe it shoves my toe nail in front the front . As a result my big toe aches all 24 hours lime there is a splinter under it --the socket of the toes nail aches -with the result that I had to put the narrow B on the shelf and buy a Medium D which is TOO WIDE for my heel , TOO WIDE for my midfoot ,TOO WIDE for the ball of my foot but bat least my bog toe stopped hurting . When I wear the medium D I feel like im running in scuba divers fins the shoes are so wide and my inserts' so slick that my feet slide around and I have to focus on keeping my feet centered on the orthotic surface .I have to lace the shoes so tightly that the tendons on top of my foot get sore .I often have to stop in the middle of a run and tighten the laces with all my might .lacing through the back holes to keep the heels snug . when I wear the NARROW B I have no such problems . My foot fits perfectly and does not slide laterally ( I run 80% on grass , sand , tan bark ) cross country courses . I fly . My miles splits are 30 seconds faster ! THIS IS HOW I WAS BORN TO RUN ! LOOK BROOKS - ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS KEEP EVRYTHING ABOUT THE NARROW B THE SAME EXCEPT RAISE THE ROOF OF THE TOE BOX 2-3 mm over the big toe and extend the big toe side of the toe box 2-3 mm .The roof of the toe box does not need to be so high over the small toe but SLOPE IT UP so the big toe area is higher and wider .. Keep the rest of the narrow but widen and raise the toe area . I know its too late for the addiction 15 but if you design the addiction 16 narrow B exactly like the 14 narrow B but with a more roomy toe box I would probably buy 60 pairs without blinking I would love to be on your proto type shoe testing team and would be willing to fly their if my presence is needed during developmental phase . The sole of the medium D and the narrow B is the same width its only the last that is narrower and lower for the narrow B . If you kept all parts of the last the same as the addictin14 narrow B but made the toe box the same as the Medium D you would have THE PERFECT SHOE ..I would love to be a part of that any way i could When i wore the

These are one of only two models available in size 16. They?re fairly comfortable but I can?t quite get a solid fit and thus only use this for short runs and it?s not my go-to shoe. Quality and build seem solid. That said - the sole is sturdy and holds up well. I haven?t had any issues with blisters or hot spots but generally comfort runs out around 6-7 miles. Good shoe - wouldn?t buy again though. Probably solid for walkers or folks making short 1-3 mile runs.

a little loose in the heel. The wide does have ample toe room. Why can you not have a longer tongue n the Addiction? The last several I bought had the same problem. Makes it hard to tie quickly.

This shoe lacks guardrails and fails to offer near enough stability. The soles are also too soft.

TL:DR: If you are looking for a supportive shoe that is durable, this shoe is not for you.
I have worn the Brooks Addiction series for a little over 16 years. Primarily for long-distance. I had purchased a few of the model 10's when they came out as they were exactly what I was looking for. Now that those have worn out I went for the newest model to see how they had improved. Unfortunately, they seem to have done the opposite. The best way I can describe these shoes is: squishy. The arch support is much weaker as the materials seem to be lighter, but weaker. In fact the weight is almost to light for me. I liked how my training shoes (the Addictions) were heavier then my competition shoes. The old series were also much more structurally solid. I feel like my feet slide around in these no matter how tight I pull the strings. These shoes remind me of the cheap Nike Lunar Glides, in all the worst ways. The pervious models I could wear not only on the road but used frequently off-road to, that is definitely not true for this model. They seem to just collapse over every rock and again, my foot feels like it is going to burst out the side.
Should Brooks want some recommendations, here they are: a more structured design, mesh alone isn't enough. The sole needs to be more supportive through more durable (less squishy) materials. A better seat for the heel. In many ways, just look back to the 10th version of this shoe. (the only thing that was kind of weird with those was a hot spot I got behind the ball of the big toe, but I am pretty sure that was just me). I hope that the next model addresses these issues as I'd rather not have to go look for another shoe.

I own five other Brooks running shoes, all sized 8.5, 4EEE. This pair is a little tight and I don't feel they're sized correctly which is disappointing.

I have been buying the Brooks Addiction for well over 10 years. The brown Nubuck being my favorite in this line as a walker. As the Addiction design structure changed over the years, I found the Brooks Beast to have better support for me while running.(Flat feet) Also there was just "more" shoe to help with support. Sadly, the Beast 2020 has now also been redesigned with a mainly fabric mesh upper. My reason for purchasing these sneakers originally was arch support. In the drive to lessen weight I presume, Brooks is replacing the upper parts of the shoe with more mesh like fabric. When I tighten the laces, I want to feel a tighter feel. The new designs do not accomplish this like the older ones. I long for my old Addictions and Beasts. They had no equal in the marketplace. Brooks new designs are forcing me to look elsewhere for sneakers. I haven't had to shop for sneakers for well over 10 years. I guess my old "go to" is gone. That's a real BUMMER !

The Addiction 14 which I received recently appears to be the same quality as the Addiction 14 I received about 1 year ago. My previous Addiction 13 in my opinion was a much better running shoe, however there was approximately a 2-3 year gap between the availability of the Addiction 14. My Doctor prescribed to me a shoe typeTorsionally rigid/straight lastand a rigid Heel counter. I nam overpronator. The previous Addiction running shoes in my opinion (not sure which number I started out with) were constructed much better. Joe Foppiano

I returned the shoes, they were too small. Also, the laces were way too short, was barely able to tie them up.
