The look of the shoe is great, and the shoe is comfortable with firmness. I would give this shoe 5 stars if the shoe fit true to size. I wear a size 9. A friend who wears 9.5 let me try on her brand new shoes. The shoe was good, but to large, so I ordered a 9. The 9 is small for size, I have no room for my toes. If you wear an in-between size, I recommend ordering a size up.

Shoe was fine but runs VERY small/narrow in the toe area. I wear size 7 and went with 7.5, my toe hit the top and had to return them.

Many years ago I ran marathons and Mizuno was my go-to sneaker. I haven't worn them in years, so maybe it's my foot, but the wide no longer fits in the toe box, so I had to return them. I have found that Asics and Saucony are now a bitter fit for my 6 1/2 wide foot.

Mizuno is no longer making narrow running shoes and I was hoping that this pair may be able to work with my feet. Unfortunately, they were too wide for my feet. I'm really disappointed that the narrow shoe is no longer available.

I’ve been purchasing wave runners for years but these seem to fit a bit more snug and felt narrower than previous ones. Wearing around house to see if they break in and feel different. Debating returning them honestly.

I had the previous WR22 and loved it. However, this new version feels more snug and the toe box feels way smaller than the previous. Causing my toes to bump up against the front of the shoe. Will try and stick with them but probably won’t be purchasing another pair and will try another brand.

The Mizuno Wave Rider 23 runs a whole size small. I ordered the same size as my previous pair of Wave Rider 21. Had to return them way too small. I went a shoe store try on shoes and came away with Wave Rider 23s but in whole size larger. Note the Wave Rider 21 upper did not hold up well quite ripped up after a few months.

This is my 4th pair of Wave Riders. This pair seems much more snug than my last pairs. I’m hoping they will loosen up as I wear them. So far I don’t have any foot discomfort wearing them. I wish Mizuno would make the laces longer so double knotting them is easier. The colors are predictably ugly. I think I’ll be switch to a new brand the next time I’m due for running shoes.

The product is very nice but I had a coupon code and was not able to apply online. Called customer service which promised me to refund the 10% discount t code once the order was placed and the order number was provided. Got in touch with them at least 3 -4 times and even received an email saying the refund was on its way but never received anything....

I have been wear Mizuno Wave Riders for 20 years. I don't run but walk five miles a day. I originally started wearing them because of the excellent cushioning in the front of the shoe and the arch support. Mizuno seems to make changes regularly to their shoes and not always for the better, in my opinion. The current Wave Rider 23 has very little cushioning in the front of the shoe and no arch support. Plus, like other reviewers said you have to size up a half size this time. It's hard to tell how the shoe is going to perform until you actually use it - I walked yesterday and am not happy with these shoes but can't send them back now. I think this is going to be my last pair of Mizuno's.

I originally ordered the medium width of these shoes. They felt so tight that I exchanged them for the wider width. They just simply hurt my feet! I'm a medium width and have several pairs of Mazunio's! Love Mizuno! These are no different I love them except they seem to be made different than other Mizuno models I own!
There's no other way to discrib it but it feels like they are pinching the bottom of my foot near the ball of the foot! Ouch! Sorry but they have to go back!

These are a bit too narrow. I tried them out for a day and my feet were simply hurting by the middle of the day! I'm sad but I'll be returning them hopefully it's alright because I tossed out the original box. I truly thought they fit well until I actually wore them for a while!

I used to wear Mizunos all the time and decided to start them up again. I liked the way these looked, and they've always made really light shoes, but they've just redesigned them too much for me I guess. I have always bought a half-size up in these, and this time I felt like the distance between the top of the shoe and the insole was way too small. They were long enough and wide enough, but really uncomfortable across the top of both feet and my toes kept falling asleep. Very sad as these used to be my go-to :(

Runs very small I usually wear 9.5 and this are to small. I don't like the idea that I can't return them after I pay to much for this shoes.

I am a very satisfied customer of Zappos and Mizuno Wave Rider shoes ! But this last pair I bought - the wave rider 23- hurts my right foot, little toe. Can’t wear them for more than 3 hours- has anyone else had this problem?

Was fitted for these at a store and they recommended inserts (but recommend those for all shoes). Thought they were more comfortable without inserts in the store but had the thought they felt hard on my toes. Now that I have worn them on long walks will probably try to sell them. They have very little cushioning and support. My foot with a slightly lower arch is hurting after a 3 mile walk yesterday morning so I wouldn't recommend these, especially without inserts for support.
I'd also recommend:

I have been a loyal Mizuno fan for years. I replace them yearly and have never had a problem, until the Wave Rider 23. I ordered them in my normal size and they were too small. Stunned, I looked online and read the comments that others had the same problem. Online reviewers were saying to "size up." I went ahead and ordered a half size bigger, instead of taking on the daunting task of looking for a new brand. The size up is too big. I wore them, thinking they were okay, but in a week, my foot is sliding up and down while running. SO disappointed. (And stuck with an ill-fitting, expensive shoe).

This is the worst model yet. I have been loyal to Mizuno for years but this high cushion shoe makes my feet hurt after just a few blocks. I definitely do not recommend the 23

I love Mizuno, but twice now I have developed terrible blisters. Two pairs ago, I rode it out, but this time I could barely walk. I ended up going back to my old Mizuno shoes. I went through a process to try to return the ones I have now and only wore 3 times, and customer service was highly responsive. However, I likely will not receive new shoes as it is deemed a fit issue.

Like everyone else wrote in the review, Waverider 23 fits significantly tighter and narrower than Waverider 21 and 22. I have a pair of Waverider 21 size 6.5 as well as a pair of Waverider 22 size 6.5. I absolutely loved 21 that was true to my size, but then I realized how much tighter 22 was after getting blisters on both of my pinky toes after running a half marathon. Not sure what they were thinking to make 23 (this one) even tighter and narrower! I bought size 7 to go a half size up, but I am returning this because they are still way too tight.
