Similar to my older pair of wave riders but they are definitely more stiff than older versions of the shoe. Still able to get miles in right away without the tough break in period. Sometimes my left foot falls asleep during runs.

I buy these shoes once a year on average and walk between 10-20 miles per week. The shoes fit my feet perfectly but I wish the inside lining against the back of my feet wouldn't wear away so quickly.

I'm a distance runner , I liked the toe box of the 22s better and they seemed a more narrow fit as well .

I use this shoe for running. I would have given five stars but the shoe laces are already beginning to shred. Other than that great product.

In the past, I have comfortably worn Nike shoes and believe I have a narrow runner's foot, but I had to purchase a WIDE version of this shoe to have a comfortable fit. It's an excellent shoe, but you will likely need to GET IT IN WIDE. I followed my usual size. It's just the width.

I've been wearing Wave Riders for years and love them because they run a bit narrow which is perfect for me! The only downside (why no five stars) for this iteration is the shoestrings/ties -- they are difficult to tighten.

wave rider 23 is made smaller than wave rider 21 and 22. The 8 is too small and the 8.5 is too big. As much as I hate it, I’m going to have to go with a different brand.

I ignored other reviewers and purchased my size(8.5). Zappos was amazing and exchanged them for a 9, and I got them the next day! The 9 is still pretty narrow and I don’t feel like my toes have a lot of room to work, but I’m still going to use them. I had the mizuno wave rider 21 and they were perfect roomyness in the toe area. The 23’s are too narrow. To be clear, I don’t have wide feet. Zappos gets 5 stars for their amazing customer service! I’ve gone on 1 run so far and they were fine

I've been wearing the Wave Rider shoes since 2005 for everyday use. I'm not a runner but I am a walker and do spend a lot of time on my feet. These shoes are very comfortable and provide great support.

The Wave Rider 23 fit true to size. It are a bit more narrow than other brands I've worn, but still fit nicely. They are light weight, look great and feel comfortable!

I've been buying this shoe for over 10 years with no change in sizing and the other reviewers are right that this is narrower and smaller than usual. Also, I didn't find the color options as good. I kept them and I think they will be ok but hope Mizuno corrects this for the next year's model.

Much less vertical space for the toes compared to the 22. I tried a half size bigger and it still isn't enough. Had to upgrade to the Sky model. Not happy with the much higher price tag but those are comfortable.

I love Mizunos. This is my 4th pair. I have to replace these every 18-24 months, as I begin to get shin splints (due to running), but they are always worth it. I am a supinator and these help greatly with that problem. My only complaint is that my big toe starts to sneak through after about 15 months. Wish the fabric was reinforced there.

First time I have had an issue with size with Mizuno. I, unfortunately, wore them running when I realized my toe was hitting the end. Just an FYI for future buyers. Also, hate the blah colors

I have worn the Wave Rider for over 7 years and have always worn an 8. After reading the reviews I ordered an 8.5 and although it felt a little narrow it is okay. Why do these companies change the product when we all love the original design!?

The material must be different for this version than the previous five or six iterations... they make my feet very hot!

I've been wearing this exact style since the Wave Rider 15's always in a size 8...however, after review I ordered half size up on this one and so glad I did. Seem to run a bit more snug than previous models. Even the 8.5 seems a bit more narrow as well. Still happy overall and will be keeping.

I agree with other reviewers, I've worn these in a size 8.5 for years and I ordered size 8.5 in the 23's and they were too small. Order a half size up for sure.

Mizuno continues to build upon its great tradition with its latest model of the Wave Rider. This is a sharp looking shoe! I immediately was drawn to the latest color schemes; this shoe in particular is sporting a charcoal gray body, with a silver Mizuno logo, and white outsoleI can definitely wear these out casually as well as while running. I'm traditionally more of a stability shoe runner, so this neutral shoe will be a good opportunity to see how it compares to other stability models as well, including the beloved Mizuno Wave Rider 15. Out of the box one can tell that this is a sleeker shoe than most stability shoes and its predecessor; noticeably lighter with a lower profile, yet still maintaining a similar stiffness and durability. Not much has been dramatically changed according to others following the Wave Rider 22; it seems that the 23 will be simply an improvement in the details of an already great tradition of a model, but the sleeker profile is attractive. Let's put it to the test!
I was super excited to get out on the roads and trails with these shoes. Right away I notice a lighter, sleeker, and closer to the ground feel than the Wave Inspire, which is a friendly change. I was impressed with the reputed Wave technology; it allowed for a noticeable structure to the shoe, while also feeling light and free. I was able to get out mostly on the roads with these shoes in hot, dry conditions, and occasionally I was able to jump on some dirt and gravel trails, including a twenty mile run. Verdict: the shoe performed wonderfully! There was plenty of stability for me even during the long runs, and I thoroughly enjoyed the comfort and lighter feel of these neutral training shoes. The neutral daily running/trainer designation for these shoes is spot on; passing with flying colors!
For someone that favors more structure and stability in their run, for someone that seeks a responsive, low profile ride, or for anyone in between, I would highly recommend this shoe.

I've worn Wave Riders for about 15 years. They are the perfect shoe for my running style, which usually includes 3 mile runs on pavement. They are low to the ground, lightweight and a neutral position. Perfect for my foot and just what I need to run easily and pain-free. This season's colors are not as exciting as past seasons. I was looking for something bright, but there is nothing to be found. Hopefully, the brights will return next season! These shoes have a new lace, which seems to stay tied more securely than the round laces that many sneakers come with. This is great! I have narrow feet, so the shorter laces are perfect for me because I lace the shoe a bit more snugly. Those who have wider feet may find the laces too short.
The only real negative of the shoe is the elimination of the vinyl scuff guard/toe guard. The whole shoe is mesh, so it may not be as durable along the toe area. I also wonder if the mesh might stretch out with wear, leading to the need to pull the laces more tightly to keep the shoe snug.

I have loved this shoe over the years, this particular model was too small and created some significant blistering on the backs of my heels because of it. As always, Zappos is amazing and worked with me to obtain a more comfortable fit in exchange.
