I use this pair of shoes for walking at botanic gardens. I usually wear size 6.5M but 7 fits better on this style. very comfortable to walk 3-5 miles daily. however I have found that walking down hill on a dirt track is an issue. shoes have very little tracking/grip - even when it was 3 month new. as a result I fell once and became very tentative going downhills. recommend to use shoes for walking or running on flat surface.

These are comfy shoes with a thick foam insole added. There is very little arch and the insole included is very thin. Please redesign with a longer tongue on the shoe and longer shoe laces for a more snug fit and reduced pronation.

Perfect for short hauls. Light and comfortable. Longer treks result in some discomfort.

Fit is good, but it would be nice to have more color choices. Good shoe for nurses.

The fit and comfort of this shoe was good - better than many of the other New Balance shoes I've tried. I have a narrow heel with medium in the front. The only dislike for this shoe is the sole of the shoe which is kind of clunky and awkward. It would probably be a good shoe for trail walking or running. It is not a good shoe for regular everyday walking.

I ordered 6-1/2 4E and they have a nice roomy toe box which felt great. Unfortunately the forefoot bending isn't stiff enough for my hallus rigidus so I am returning them. I also wasn't completely fond of the material of these shoes which seemed somewhat cheap. If the shoes would have worked for me, I would have overlooked that for comfort however.

I was very pleased with the fit and feel. I put them on and had no problems at all. No need to break them in or get use to them. No rubbing or blisters.I have been going to PT for planter and heel problem. These shoes seem to help with the pain.

These were recommended by my Podiatrist. They are okay for comfort, I've worn better. The size seems to be accurate.

Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the short shoelaces. Also I got the blue model and not the all gray one.

This is a very nice shoe and it is very comfortable. The only drawback is that my insoles squeak loudly when they are inserted and I walk in them but this is probably not a flaw of the shoe design. This is the only reason I give 4 versus 5 stars. If you have orthotics, they may squeak!

There is too much fabric where the tongue is attached and it bunches up. Returning shoe.

Been wearing this style several years now and I have two issues with the shoes. One, the laces are too shorteasily solved with new laces, but really NB, just make longer laces for the shoe. Two, the tongue is too short so my tied laces rest on my foot and not the tongue. Can't believe New Balance can't fix this. Otherwise I'm pleased with the shoe.

I really like this shoe. It's comfortable and supportive. The only problem is that I ordered a wide width and the laces were too short to use every lace hole and still be able to try properly. I contacted customer support and was directed to where I could purchase different laces. I was shocked. I can't believe they couldn't just send me the proper laces for the shoe I ordered. Especially, at this price. I did buy longer laces and am very happy with the shoe but beware if you are a wide width.

Needs a longer tongue without slipping.to the side. The shoelaces have improved and are of better quality. The last version untied easily and I had to give the laces a double knot. I would recommend putting the tab back on the heel area to help foot slide in easier. This is the fourth same colored sneaker I have purchased over the years for plantar fasciitis, bone spurs, over pronation, flat feet and roll over ankles due to osteoarthritis.. Would be nice to have more colors instead of two.

I just started wearing them and they are a good fit. While I miss the more solid yet rubber like bottoms of my other NB sneakers, now no longer available, I think it is a matter of getting used to this hard, solid foundation. In the long run I believe the firmness will keep my new sneakers in use for a longer period of time.

This is the fourth pair of Balance shoes 1540v3 that I have purchased. I love this shoe and my podiatrist recommends this brand and model. However, this time the tongue on the right shoe is a little shorter than usual and irritates me. I keep wanting to pull it up, but it can't go any higher. Other than that, everything else is great.

These shoe shave enabled me to walk long distances again without pain. The only issue is holes forming in the mesh where my big toe hits. I see others have had this issue. I noticed other NB shoes have an extra layer of material under the mesh. This model needs the same.

I love your 1540 shoe. The only problem is that your shoe laces are too short. If I don't double knot the bow, they untie, and these laces make it so difficult to do so. Just a couple more inches would make them fine.

The foot doctor told me these are the best shoes to wear with my inserts for plantar fasciitis. I kept shopping different sites because I knew they have tons of cute NB shoes so I must be able to find this one in cuter colors or something. Turns out, no, you can't. They are so ugly, I feel as if it has to be intentional as to their grandpa like looks. Is it? I have an Executive MBA and surely I'm not the first to point this out. At any rate, thanks for making a shoe to make our feet feel better even if it makes us ashamed to go out in public wearing these potato shoes.

I have been using new balance for several years. The last pair was a size 10, up from my usual 9.5. The last pair fit perfectly!
I ordered this newest pair - size 10. Unfortunately, this new pair is a little too big. Same width as the previous.

Have worn 7.5 wide but with the extra width I needed to size down to 7. Now my feet are happy with this motion control. I love them!

Been walking daily in these, and so far, I'd say the are pretty comfortable. The arch support is decent, and they make my feet feel stable (over-pronator). I ordered a 9 wide, and the width is great. They might run a little big for a 9, but overall I like them so far.

Shoe needs longer laces. It would be great to have more designs available in the Made in USA group.

Good when walking on uneven ground. Just what is needed for doing a lot of walking. Wish there was a tab to pull on the tongue so shoes were easier to put on. Round strings are harder to tie tight than flat strings would be. Still very happy with these shoes. A few more colors for a big size woman's shoe would be nicr.
