These fit my narrow feet very well. This model feels a little heavy but is very sturdy. I wish the arch support was better for my flat feet. I wish there were more style options in narrow sizes from New Balance.

I started wearing a half size up in other shoes and in the NB hiking thing boots, but these were roomier such that I would go down a 1/2 size.

I liked the fit of the shoe for size and width (it was perfect) however I felt like I was walking with lead weights on my feet and the pronation correction is too extreme for me. The heavy weight feeling I think may come from the pronation correction, my foot did not feel flexible in it. I normally wear a 12 wide but have found I need to size up to 13 wides with New Balance. I ended up going with the other pair I ordered - New Balance 940

These are attractive shoes and well made. I desperately need new walking shoes. These, however didn’t work for me because I have to use custom orthotics and they weren’t deep enough even when I removed their insert. I wear narrow and these seemed a little narrower than Drew shoes AA but hard to say for sure since the depth meant I couldn’t get my foot in it easily.

I have been wearing 847 for more then two years and the shoes get flat after 6 months. So I am trying the1540 v3 for know . The shoes fit us a I was expecting but I don’t know for how long it will fit right. I hope for the price I can get more the 6 months.

Make sure you keep this shoe in stock especially the size 9 and 9.5. Critical to me shopping with you!

I have been wearing New Balance shoes for many years and have always been able to get a good fit. Most recently, I've been happy with the older versions of 940 and 990 (three and two years old). They don't work for me any more, but New Balance is now the only brand that carries shoes that are narrow enough. I decided to settle for the 1540 v3, wearing slightly thicker socks and Superfeet insoles. They feel firmer, less cushiony, than my 940s. The heel is a bit loose, but I think they will work. In my case, I am very happy with the shorter shoelaces. Most of my New Balance shoes have laces that are way too long, and I have to triple tie them to keep from tripping. The tongue of the shoe is a bit too short, not a deal breaker. For reference, I walk six miles a day. I wear a Size 9.5 AA. (In a dress shoe, I am a 9AAAA.) The price point of these shoes seems very high (about $180 plus tax).... wish there were more choices for me.

Overall good. A bit expensive. The shoelaces were so short I couldn’t tie them and had to buy a pair that worked. Also the tongue is quite narrow and so is hard to center over the top of the foot.

New Balance have been my go to sneakers for a long time. However, this is my 2nd pair of NB that become unwearable because of the squeaking when I walk. I am a teacher. I wore these a few times at the end of the last school year. They offer great stability but this pair felt like it needed to be broken in as they were hard and stiff. Fast forward to August when I took these with me to visit my daughter in CO. They were actually great while walking her dog but they became extremely noisy. I can not wear these.

The 1540v3 gives me much more ankle support that I need. I don't run, just need for everyday wear. The sides of me feet don't hurt with the extra extra wide width. Glad I took a chance ordering these, thank you for the easy return because other pair was too tight. A pleasure to shop with Zappos.

Shoe laces so short couldn’t tie them! Had to buy new shoelaces for brand new $170 shoes. I was also disappointed they squeak loudly when I walk.

My foot is narrow and that size was available which gets hard. Shoe laces are the ones that easily come undone. Otherwise the shoe is cute and comfortable.

I've worn NB shoes for running and cross-training for over 30 years, and this is the first pair that did not feel comfortable out of the box. I got the same size as for all my other shoes, but they were too tight once I tied them. I think it's because the laces were too short, so I bought some longer ones. So far they feel more comfortable with the new laces. The length and toe box are comfortable and they are correct width, so I cannot say the fit is bad.

I recently purchased this shoe at my local New Balance store. I have very narrow feet and pronate. The only shoe available at the store or online in a 2A was this shoe. I also purchased an insert for low arches. This shoe is considered a running shoe. At the moment, this new shoe is very stiff, and would be difficult to run in. I do not run, but walk a lot and workout at a gym. I am hoping it softens. My sore feet from the previous pair is improving. This shoe does give great support.

I had to return this because my heel slipped out even when I tied the laces to prevent this. I suspect they might "run big." The good is that there is a lot of structure in the sides and back of this shoe, if you need stability (e.g., over-pronate), and the toe box is roomy. The bad news, as others reported, is that the length of the tongue is so short that it barely covers the laces. They laces are likely to slip beyond the tongue and dig in to the top of my foot.

While I could feel the Roll Bar working, the arch support felt light. These also had very little cushioning. I did love the colors, but I sent them back because they weren't comfortable enough to wear standing and walking for hours.

Got my shoes today so really can't rate the comfort etc. yet. The narrow width feels great. But as others have said the laces are short. I wasn't able to double knot them . My birkenstock arch supports fit Ok in them.

I'm 68 in fairly good shape. Bought this shoe for daily wear & walking. It is comfortable enough to leave on all day including 3 mile walk. Laces do slip a little so double knot. 4 stars because wish there was a little more padding to cushion foot pad under toes. Heel cushioning good & love that they are USA made!

The fit was good. However, the stitching to hold the tongue in place is inadequate and it won't stay centered. I will be returning these.

I have a heel Spurs and was having a difficult time walking. This shoe definitely helped me a lot now and it's much more easier to walk with. I'd only wish it was lighter and had longer laces and tongue.
