I love this shoe! However, it used to come with a really nice insole and now there is just a thin insole. Disappointing!

I wear these shoes for work and my feet are happy at the end of the day!

I use the shoe for walking being an older male. They are good and comfortable so far and the wide front is perfect for me.

This is the second pair of 1540 I've ordered and they are fantastic for my Neuropathy. New Balance shoes were originally suggested by my podiatric surgeon. He's was spot on. I normally order 990V5's but since I liked my original pair of 1540's I figured I try them again but wider since my foot width has changed. The fit was excellent and they were as comfortable as the 990V5's which are a little more expensive. I'll probably switch off between the two in the future.

I have been wearing this series of shoe since the V1. Sizing is spot on and the roll bar makes all the difference for me. They were out of my size for a while, so I went with another company, after a week of wearing the alternative shoe I could tell a difference. I wear a 13 4E and these are perfect for my needs.

I have dealt with overpronation for years, and the New Balance 1540 and earlier versions have been the only motion control shoes that have worked for my feet. So far the new version has been as comfortable and stable as my previous shoes for my workouts. It has been only a month, so I'll update if there are any issues. I wear a 2E wide and the size still works

Bought this his online. Fit is perfect. Happy that NB has wide sizes. Makes shoes so much more comfortable

Solid fit shoe used for walking. I need a wide shoe (EEEE) for comfort that this model has given me that for years.

Walk 45 minutes a day. Shoes have held up nicely. Sorry to hear they are no longer made in USA.

Fantastic shoe. The rollbar is a great feature especially for teenage boys. So sad they are no longer manufacturing the shoe in the US. Buy yours while they still have them. They are already sold out in my son's size.

I use these for everyday use at home, office and walks. Most new shoes bother me or I have to keep trying different sizes and models. But in this case, these shoes are just right, right out of the box! Very rare for me. Also, I've been dealing with metatarsal pain resulting from a bunion. These work great... and they accommodate my orthotic inserts just fine. Size Men US9 Wide.

These are by far the most comfortable New Balance shoes I have. I tried a couple of pair of 990's but they are tighter the arch and toe box. Even though the 1540's are no longer made in the USA they are still the best fitting and comfortable. One of few can get xx-wide in my size (10.5).

I have large and wide feet. I am also very heavy. These shoes make running easy. If you are a Clydesdale this show is for you.

My husband had reconstructive foot surgery. His feet are thick and wide. The podiatrist directed us to find a shoe that didn't bend and twist in addition to being wide. After going to every big box shoe store without much luck, we ended up at a local old-fashioned full service shoe store. (The ones that actually fit you and assist you in lacing them up) We ended up with the 1540 V2 in Navy and gray. They were THE BEST! At his follow-up visit, his foot surgeon was impressed with the fact that the entire sole was wide throughout the foot, doesn't cut in on the arch area like most NB, and the the toe box area doesn't taper (is actually boxy), and the sole is rigid (doesn't twist/ stable) He has diabetic neuropathy so it is important that he doesn't have a shoe with hot spots/ rubbing because if the shoe was doing any of this, he wouldn't know until it was too late. We went back to the same local shoe shop for another pair. They no longer had the V2 but they had a 1540 V3 and they only had one pair left in the 12E in the gray with the bright blue N logo. The color combo isn't as nice as the V2s in my opinion (that bright blue is nowhere else on the shoe... seems like an afterthought) but it is what they had. We have been back for the past 3-4 months to get a back up pair or a different color and they said they won't get a new shipment until November 2021 due to the pandemic. I plan to buy a pair of the same in women's style next time they have my size in stock. Having room to wiggle your toes without the tapered side or top stitching rubbing your little toe is great. I don't know why these are not easier to find or why New Balance doesn't manufacture more with the boxy toe area like these. A pair with ankle support would be welcome for when we walk on the trails. I only hope that New Balance will expand their product line based on this shoe

These shoes are my walking shoes both on paved and semi-paved roads. These shoes are very stable on both graved l and rough paved roads. I love how comfortable and light they are and the look is fantastic. Great product.
