As with all my shoes, I add an orthotic insole for optimal support. These shoes are lightweight yet provide exceptional durability and cradle my feet with relaxing support in a variety of activities.

Circuit Training From working in the food industry and being on my feet 55 hours a week wearing the wrong shoes, my feet are so warped. New Balance has been the only shoes I feel comfortable in for a length of time. Thank you. I know that there are NB Foodservice work shoes, this company did NOT allow them.

The W990v5 is expensive; with tax, I paid total $201.30; thanks for free shipping. (It seems similar to the W990 older version 3). The light-weight materials in the latest W990 version 5 are comfortable for jogging and walking. I think the removable insole should have been thicker and sturdier, but its insole is very cheap, thin, soft. I bought the color: black with silver, Women's size 7B and it fits nice with thin socks. The bottom sole is ok too. Thank you New Balance team.

Love New Balance shoes always have. But this time I had to order 990 instead of 993 because the 993 don't come in black which I need because I work on cars. Then the 990's only came with 1 shoe lace, frustrating.

I Purchased a variation of this shoe for many years now. I normally wear an 8 1/2 and I always get these in an 8 1/2 wide so I can insert my orthotics. It works perfectly and I find this to be an exceptionally supportive and comfortable shoe. It is a little on the heavy side so keep that in mind. My most recent pair have been just as good however the shoelaces started to wear after only a few months. New balance does not sell replacement shoelaces online and it has been difficult to get any information regarding a replacement. So I will look for shoelaces elsewhere. I took one star off because of the lace issue. That is not enough to make me discard these shoes. I will buy them again.

Had to buy real shoelaces, I have the old 978 with gray shoelaces, this shoe is comfortable but the shoelaces are thin, cotton and short. Call customer service we're not interested.

I wear this shoe on long walks almost daily Cushioning is great & my ankles feel supported My orthotics fit inside the shoe . There's plenty of room in the toe box Silver grey color pairs well with many outfits

It's a great shoe but seems to run large. I ordered a wide because otherwise my bunions poke through the shoe. But now that I've worn them around awhile they seem too wide and too long. They don't really bend when I walk so I have to be careful not to trip over my own feet.

Need more colors for wide width! Love the shoes...

I first purchased a navy pair from a New Balance store, and am very happy with fit and comfort. The gray pair thru LL Bean runs narrow as compared to the navy pair. Suggest LL Bean offer this shoe in wide also.

These shoes were expensive and do offer good support, however they run big and feel thick and chunky. Although pleased with my purchase, I will take some time getting used to the fit.

I primarily use this shoe for walking. My previous NB were 1080 Fresh Foam and I prefer that model. The 990 is very well made with excellent arch and heel support and if the footbed was softer, they would be a winner. Also, the tongue keeps slipping sideways while I am walking. More annoying than uncomfortable.

I wear my New Balance shoes 990 most of the time. The new pair I just got is now a bit uncomfortable because the fabric on the underside of the tongue seems to be bunching up and causing sore spots on the top of my arch. I have no remedy at the moment as I am in Europe for my son's wedding..... Thanks for any suggestions you may have. These are my third pair.

Great shoe, worn them since I was a teen, insane price hike. Am I really going to pay 1,200 to shoe my family of 6?

I will be traveling abroad. Wanted new shoes beforehand to break them in. I always wear a size 20. That's what I ordered this time. Thought they would be perfect, as usual. But this pair runs a little large. I decided to keep them. Have worn them out shopping. Sorry I didn't return them for a half size smaller

I was impressed with the quality of construction of these shoes when I took them out of the box. Very good material, strong seams, very sturdy heel. Even the shoelaces were nicely packaged and they stay tied! I will be using them for everyday life. This is my first pair of New Balance shoes and so far, so good!

I am flat footed and generally wear a wide size 9 (women's). This version is wider and longer than the last pair I ordered. Rather than send them back, I just wear thicker socks. The foam insole is very comfortable.

Love these for running and walking. Great comfort and cushion for my 60 year old body. My only complaint is that they are unattractive.

my previous grey new balance style is no longer made. i got the same size in this new style number but i think they are too long. am wearing them anyway. can't wait for stores to reopen
