Customer Reviews New Balance Made in US 990v5

Love this walking shoe. I'm 6'5" 230 lbs. love the aesthetics and the comfort.

I have been buying this same shoe since 2010. Purchased over 15 pair that I've kept. Lately I am returning 3 of every 4 pair I buy because when I pull out the insert to put in my orthotic I see that the inseam is not completely sewn together. It is where the seam gap is that the shoe starts to spread in later life. I need all of the narrowness I can get, not a shoe that goes from xtra narrow to narrow on its own. When this started to be more common I went back and inspected all of my really really old worn out pairs (now gardening shoes) to see if this was really abnormal AND guess what- all of my old shoes purchased 2010 thru maybe 2016 still had tight stitching completely connecting fabric to fabric in the floor of the shoe with no gapping. AND, those are thoroughly worn out shoes. I bought 2 pair earlier this year, kept one pair but returned the other. So I tried again last month. Bought 2 pair and had to send them both back. I will probably wait till the V6's come out at the end of the year to try again. It seems to clearly be a failure of inspection during the manufacture process. These return pairs appear to have never been inspected, so they get boxed up for shipment. Plus the return process is laborius. I have to find a friend with a computer connected to a printer, and ask the friend to liaison with NewBalance on my behalf in order to obtain the mail back label. In the past New Balance simply mailed me the label on request and I put it on package no prob. This time it took me multiple connections with customer service reps working from home, with no authority to really help customers. One of whom kept me on the phon for 3 hours while she kept trying to get her bosses at N.B. To help her on another line, her bosses silent for 3 hours. She said someone would Call me back but didn't happen and I was left with no resolution to label problem. After couple days I called back and got a better rep who sent the label request to my buddys computer.

It's great to have a size 12.5 so thanks NB. Really very comfortable shoes. I've been a long- time Nike buyer. But I needed something with a better support. After walking for an hour or two the soul's of my feet would start to tire. So I'm very happy with the NB 990V5's. Have owned 574 and 993 before but theses have a much better feel. No more tired feet.

Great pair of shoes, well fitting and very comfortable. Fit true to size.

Use for everyday work and walking best shoe ever and have tried alot

I received the 990's I ordered but they were too big. I'm told that it is not known when the size I need will be in so I have no real knowledge of the 990's yet. My fingers are crossed that the size I need will be in soon!

These shoes feel amazing I really appreciate the simplicity sometimes I forget that I'm wearing shoes.

I can't emphasize enough how great it is that the 990v5 is available in odd sizes like mine (14 2a). The best fitting (maybe the only fitting) and best overall shoe I've worn in years.

Very comfortable shoes. Meanwhile I believe that New Balance customer relationship management system was working better before.

My traditional (1960's) foot size was 7.5 EEE. I have been purchasing Size 8 EEEEEE from new balance and basically they have provided a wonderful fit. With this latest purchase the shoe seems a little tighter than previous. Also the height in the tows are a little less that previous causing some slight discomfort. Just wondering why you have adjusted your sizing. It appears I may have to jump the size to 8.5 which will leave shoe a little loose at the heel.

Great shoe that accommodates wide foot and orthotic use. Especially like wide, deep toe box. Price keeps going up but guess that's what you have to pay for happy feet!

I have been wearing this shoe since 1985 and was hooked the first time I tried it on. It made my feet feel like i was walking on air. I have not looked at another brand or even tried another brand out since 1985. I am a chiropractor and wear them to work since I am on my feet all day and my feet are happy when I get home at night.

I suffered from from plantar fasciitis and air Eid helping me, highly recommended
