best running shoes; too expensive; need more characters

Paid three times the price of two other NB pairs I've found elsewhere. My older pairs of MT481 are 10.5 4E and fit well and have almost enough cushion for me. But this 990v5 Core 10.5 4E is too tight and has not enough cushion and does not have enough room to put a cushion for the ball of my foot. But at first these were comfortable for awhile, so I wore them and cannot send them back.

My husband has super wide feet and he has a very hard time finding shoes that fit - let alone are comfortable. From the first time he out these on he loved them! His feet feel good all day long! They look great too! Thank you for making extra extra wide shoes!

I love these shoes! I started wearing these shoes in 1993 as a senior Sargent in the U S Army, i wear a 16 6e , high arch. In the Army we ran five days a week, and the pain in my knees subsided after wearing these shoes.

These are great supportive and comfortable sneakers. Percent, when doing a lot of walking!

These 990s are light and offer good cushioning for walking. I have not found a shoe anywhere that offers arch support. I keep looking but would buy this shoe again.

This is my second pair of 990v5 walkers in a few years. That alone is recommendation enough to the question: "Would you buy these again?" Well, yes, and I did. They give a real spring to each step, so walking is a breeze.

Excellent fit, comfortable with great support. Bought these for years and will continue to do so.

These shoes I've been informed are for lifestyle, not treadmill running. In my most recent experience, the rubber crumbles off when running on a treadmill. Otherwise lovely shoes

I love my New Balance! Have been wearing them for years! Ever since my cross country days 45 years ago! The quality and comfort is so much better than any ol for the imported shoes. I will always support products made in USA!

Too much? I don't think so. Why did I wait until I was a middle aged dad to buy these shoes? From the moment I put them on knew they were special. Most comfortable shoe I have owned, and I have owned a lot of shoes. Yes, they resemble a "diabetic special" but know what? Don't care. For those hating on the v5 990s, man, the others mush have been something special because these are something special. Invigorates my efforts to exercise and allows me to travel incognito. No one knows how cool I am in my gray 990 G5's. They fit as they should. I have a medium sized size 11 foot. Bought 11 Ds. Right on target. Will buy these again and again

I am not a runner just use them for walking and bike riding

Best shoe I've ever bought and shipping was very fast. This is the 3rd pair that I've purchased and each one was has been a perfect fit. The only reason I've had to buy new ones is because I've gotten them so dirty that I needed a new pair for going out places.

Having started with my NB 320s way back when, it was disappointing to receive two new pair of 990v5 and have the right side of the tongue be unfinished. Hopefully this was a one time whoops not a new quality standard.

I love this shoe. I walk a lot for exercise, and I'd been having tendon problems in my foot, so my podiatrist recommended these. I purchased a pair in October 2021 and really enjoyed them, but a few months later, the stitching at the toe started to come loose, and, sure enough, a hole soon appeared in the mesh. I asked around, and apparently this is not an uncommon problem with mesh shoes (though it had never happened to me before, neither with New Balance nor with other brands). I liked the shoes so much, though, I decided to replace them with the same model (though after only ten months of wear). Oddly, the new shoes feel just slightly bigger on my foot, though I bought the exact same size. They're fine, though the old ones were a bit more snug and felt like they offered more support. When I use the orthotic I put in my dress shoes, the fit seems better. Still, these are great walking shoes, and they look great too, neither like kids' shoes nor old man's shoes. Great, classy design.
