They offer great for arch support reducing lower back pain therefore increasing my time in the gym. I order 1 pair a year for my son and I and then they become great yard working shoes. After a year, they are not so good looking but still great arch support. I'll never own any others!

There's definitely some heel slip for me in this shoe, unlike the last pair of walking/ running New Balance shoes that I'd purchased. That said, they look good and seem to be built well

With a high-quality American-made shoe like this, it's easy for me to choose it. I'm really bad about procrastinating shoe purchases, and I usually have only a few pairs at one time. The price is reasonable considering that I'll keep them long enough to cost half a cent per day - or less.

I just got it on Friday after two returns. Zappos customer service is the best in the world. This pair is very good but the size is much larger than I have had (refer to the photo). Why did NB change size?? Unfortunately, I have to return it soon :-( It is too bad the smaller size is not available.

Great shoe, well made. My left foot tends to roll to the outside due to a prior foot injury and many athletic shoes do not provide enough support to keep the foot in place. These shoes are well made and provide excellent support and look great.

Very comfortable, stable and high quality shoe that I use for my morning walks. Bought the v5 because I previously wore the V4 which I really liked but was discontinued. V5 retains the same high quality as the V4.

I have been wearing NB990 for over 20 years and these are better than ever. I tried to switch to ASICS (what was I thinking) and what a mistake. I tossed a $190 pair of sneakers in trash after 3 years. Buy these and nothing else!

My husband knows when it is time for a new pair, his legs and feet hurt!! He has tried other brands and even other New Balance but the 990 is perfect, for both of us! Keep making them!

This is at least my third pair of 990v5. I am 78 but try to stay very active and walk at least 3 miles 3 or 4 days a week. Their size is true and they break in very quickly. Purchased the blue color this time. Very happy with that.

Best shoes with inserts from the Walking Co. These shoes have been a life saver. They are wide and provide great support. Zappos simply the best when it comes to service!

Love this shoe! Very disappointed as you have had none available for the last 3 years. This is classed as one of your core shoes! You get us hooked on this product for the hard to fit and then not supply it. But introduce it in all new colours but not all sizes
