Bought 2 pairs. One for running and one for everyday walking.

Great for walking and taking o the gym. The only drawback is that the grey with castlerock does not come with matching grey shoestrings..

I wear these shoes for everything, walking, at the gym, casual wear when out and about.

these sneakers are the most comfortable I have ever owned. The support is fantastic. Can't say enough good things about these sneakers.

worn NB 990 for 10 plus years . I wear a 10.5W. Have a stability issue that requires this shoe all the time. I do not run, play tennis or go to the gym. BUT I DO WORK. I need an all black shoe which NB no longer makes in the woman's 990 (only the men's version (gender bias??).I don't wear sweats to work so why do I want a shoe with silver details or a big white NB on the side. I was told that the black men's equivalent size was 9.5 regular width. The length is fine but the width is too narrow across the ball of the foot. The difference is quite apparent visually.

I'm 70 years old and on average run between 120 and 130 miles per month between training and road races. For the past few years, I have run in NB 1040s. I find that the 990s are far heavier than I thought they would be. I will continue to train in them, but I will switch to the 1040s on race days.

I have had New Balance 990s for many years now - can't remember when I purchased my first pair. I have very difficult feet to fit, and suffer when my feet can't retain their flat spread from a narrow heel to a grotesque splay of my toes. Your footware works in a very supportive way so that I can run, work, and continue my biking routine into my mid-eighties. Thank you for continuing to make this style.

I'm using this type of shoes from more than 15 years. They are very good shoes but last 4 months only. After 4 months I have 2 holes near my 2 thumbs.

I must've looked at a dozen reviews, online videos and written words about the shoes (990v5) and they did not disappoint they are remarkably stylish for the function and comfort they provide! everyday ware happy to have them

I've been having more problems with my feet and can't wear flat shoes anymore. Enter the 990v5s. Wow! These are super comfortable and have become my go-to for everything. Thanks, NB!

ordered 12 B, these are wider than previous orders of the same shoe. Not happy with these

I wear this shoe daily. in fact, it is the only shoe I can wear comfortably. The quality of construction and materials is beyond compare. I love this shoe!

I buy New Balance because I have narrow feet. NB's give me a better fit for comfort and durability. I expect to get years of ware from these shoes.

the 990s are my favorite every day shoes. i walk 2 miles a day without getting any sore feet keep up the good work

I use shoe for everyday wear and for working out. I love it.

Fit has been changed in version. The 6E is cut smaller then in the 990v4 shoe. 990v5, while usable it is not as comfortable as the previous version

I have been wearing these shoes since high-school and that is like 20 years ago! My V4 had huge defects on the sole- and NB was great and allowed me to return past date. I was a bit sad that perhaps the quality has changed- but optimistic now testing the V5. The sole design has changed since V4, so I am hopeful that the issues that I had on V4 will not be present in this new shoe. If you like a classic prep and understated running shoe- this one is your choice. I have used both grey and navy and get more compliments in the NAVY...:). This version V5 seems a bit more streamlined for V4 and less bulky if that is important to you!

I am totally satisfied with fit, comfort, and functionality.

The 81/2, 6e shoe feels very comfortable for 4e/5e wide and flat feet - as I walk long distances. The shoes mesh keep feet warm as cold days approaching , and extra room 6e assists for thick socks. There are some minors wished to be improved like: the inside front toe stitch thick thread, and short tongue, that, rather goes in than stays out. I do recommend.

Finally got the toe box right! 16 6E needs more spring and durable cushion under the ball of the foot!
