I require an extremely wide shoe and this one runs very narrow even with an available 6E. 1540 much better fit. I will be exchanging for the 1540.

They are ok at best. Only offer a couple colors in all sizes and width. The only place i seem to be able to get shoes this wide or i would leave New Balance in a minute. way too pricey for the quality.

I am very hard on shoes and these are the only shoes I have found that will last. I never get blisters and the support affects my posture in a good way which really cuts down on the after work aches. If you have wide feet like me, nothing is better than a good pair of New Balance. I can't brag on these shoes enough.

HIS LAST PAIR OF SHOES HAVE STILL NOT WORN OUT. HE WEARS THEM EVERYDAY. HE HAS AN EXTRA WIDE, SHORT FOOT THAT IS HARD TO FIT. BUT THESE ARE PERFECT! COST OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS OF WEAR AVERAGE ABOUT WHAT I WOULD HAVE SPENT ON SEVERAL PAIR

Nice looking and comfortable when wearing. Design flaw! Horizontal stitching at upper back of heel causes shoe to fold over on itself when putting on. Shoe horn does not help.

Regular exercise, try a lot of sports NB shoes is the most comfortable, look forward to a better shoes to wear.

I have metatarsal pain due to arthritis. Went to podiatrist and used CBD balm, but still had pain when walking. Bought the 990v5's with the New Balance Metatarsal Pad and the pain went away. I am now walking pain-free as part of my exercise regimen. Thank you, New Balance, for an excellent product. I would recommend to everyone.

A good fit with the double narrow for me. I was looking for a narrow or double narrow american made shoe. There were few, these fit the bill and working out great a few weeks in.

Would prefer them to arrive laced and ready to wear. Lacing shoes is an art that I'm not skilled at, mine end up twisted and don't look good.

I feel this shoe is wider than the shoe it replaced. Nice shoe but loose on my feet. If I tie the laces tight, it creates a seam just to the right of the tag inside the tongue that is uncomfortable.

I have purchased many pairs of New Balance shoes, spending lots of time on my feet over the years. Used to buy the ones made overseas, but the quality became worse as time went by, having to repair them more often on my own. Then I began to buy the more expensive "made in USA" ones recently, and they seem to be holding up quite well. Only downside for me is I wish they had a bit more arch support, like the old days!

Very comfortable, have to leave them in the garage though, stinks up my closet with cat urine smell. they said it was the fixed 2 versions ago. Not yet. Have other NB with no smell. Doug,

I bought the 990v5 in grey hi top. best shoe I've ever worn. soooo comfortable. Id like to get the same in Black hi top but I can't seem to find it. Do you even make hi tops anymore? It'd be a shame not to get a pair to go with my Greys....

Thank you New Balance for making narrow shoes available. I purchased 990V5 Black AA a half size larger, 12 1/2. Than my normal size. They fit very well. Presently I have two other pair of New Balance shoes. I wish more colors were available. It doesn't hurt that they are made in the USA.

This sneaker is tried and true. My husband has three pairs and will not wear any other sneaker. They support his plantar fasciitis, giving him much relief.

I have exclusively worn New Balance since 2001 when I joined the army. I have put thousands of mile on New Balance shoes and these are the least comfortable ones I have ever worn. The padding in the ankle area is too much and rubs the wrong way. I would equate the feeling to how it feels when you wear the fabric off the heel from not loosening your shoes to put them on and off; and the plastic digs into your back ankle. This uncomfortable feeling is what I feel even though there is no exposed plastic. The inner and out ankle feel this way. I wish they would bring back the USA 991. Those were my PT shoes when I enlisted and they have been my favorite. I would pay $400 plus for USA 991 like from 2001. I have resorted to the purchasing the UK version from third party vendors. It is a shame that New Balance USA does not make them. These are my third pair of the 990 series. I had a v3 and v4. They seem to continually get less comfortable as the newer versions come out. These shoes do have a very comfortable souls and I would guess that aspect has not changed much.

If you have a long and narrow foot like I do, this is the one for you. Only place I know that you can get a AA width running shoe. Get a length larger, because they run small. I use them for training, jogging and speed walking. Please don't stop making them!

Had these for walks and hikes for some time and now ordered them in all black to sneak them into the office as dress shoes.

I first got into New Balance 99 series because of my extra-wide hobbit feet; now they are the only running shoe I buy. For over 20 years I ran 3 to 5 miles a day, and when something works, it works.

Shoe has a consistantly comfortable fit and wears well.

I wear these at work. I am a respiratory therapist at a large hospital and I spend all day on my feet. Since I switched to these shoes 4 years ago, I have not had any foot pain. They are extremely durable too.
