Customer Reviews New Balance Made in US 990v5

Compared to my 990v3 and 992, the V5 generally felt like a downgrade. This is mostly personal preference, but the color of the midsole is pretty dark and therefore feels like you're wearing a full black shoe. It only came with black laces too. Not a fan of this specific execution and the value is less there with the price hike since the v4, but still overall a decent shoe. Would have given it a 5 of the midsole had might white/grey/cream tones and included a white and/or cream set of laces. Without that, this shoe ends up looking like something you wear with a work uniform.

Very comfortable shoe. Lace color (white) made it too bright for my taste--replaced the laces with gray color.

I was having heavy knee pain and ii knew it was due to my shoes but i didnt have a store near me and i didnt want to order online. But i eventually bit the bullet and orderes and im so glad i did. in onky 2 days my knee pain had all but disappeared. I love your product the only thing thats hard is how expensive your shoes are. i would give a 4.5 if i could

I still like this shoe, but it fits larger than previous generations of the same shoe I've had and the laces are more finicky to deal with (they are both harder to loosen and then tighten than previous generations of this shoe). My foot floats around more in this shoe than the older generations I've purchased previously.

..nothing fits my 11.5 x 4e foot better than New Balance products, and i will continue to buy - but your marketing has lost me, as i am not a young black man or woman living in Metro City.

Quality shoe, size fit great and most importantly MADE IN USA

I am a 25-year New balance customer, the 990 V5 is good ! But I prefer the 990 V4 ( it seems to have more cushioning!).

Nice feel, comfortable, nice room in the toe box, nice support in the arch and foot. Little more bounce then V4 grey oringals, but V4 wins in looks.

Fits well however the tongue keeps slipping down into the shoe as the day goes on. The tongue usually has a built in "loop" for the shoe lace to go through but this shoe does not so the tongue slides down when wearing.

I really like the shoe but will be returning this pair for the next size up.

Would have been 5 star rating if the service at the two ABQ stores was better. I finally walked out and ordered online. Love the 990v5 for the narrow width. Been buying NB for over 30yrs.

The shoes are good. Have ordered for years. This time shipment came with a used Dr School's insert in one shoe. The shoes appeared to be okay and not worn but apparently someone had tried them on and left behind an insert. Really not classy to ship this way, especially at that price. Really expected better from New Balance.

This is my 2nd pair, the length seems a little shorter and squish's 2 toes on my left foot only.

This would get 5 stars but there should be a sizing guide on the website. I measure at 9 on a brannock shoe sizer device, but in sneakers I'm typically a 10.5. I ordered a 10.5 and they are slightly larger than I'd like. I would have returned them but they were on backorder and it took a month and a half to arrive.

Love New Balance because some are made in the USA. Pricey but comfortable and there never is a sale on their top ones

Good shoe but too expensive!! I wanted the 1540 shoe that I have bought for years but could not find anywhere. I will now buy from Ortho Feet for a lot less money and good fit Newbalance needs to get in order!!!

The shoe overall is well made,but the only thing its lacking in is the comfort. It only needs a better insole and this shoe would be perfect.

The 4E width gives the comfort I need as my feet age. Too bad NB does not supply this width in all models. So far shoes are great but the gray is a bit too light of a shade, will get dirty quickly. I would have preferred the black/silver (not available in 4E) or a darker gray.

I love it but my family preferred the 574 I returned to tbe 990 spec

this is the ONLY narrow (A width) shoe they make and it is completely over priced

I have been buying 990's for years. They are very nice sneakers, however, the price is getting quite high.
