I like the shoe very much. However, I ordered a size a bit too big so my feet now slips around in them while walking.

As a Doctor Who has always referred patients for new balance sneakers they always used to give doctors a free pair each year. Now they stop doing that for whatever reason I don't know. Their customer service line is poor at best. The sneaker is great if fitted properly

This is the first pair of shoes that I have been able to wear in a long time without them hurting my feet. I have a wide feet so I need a wide shoes. I chose the shoes that had the widest size that they make and they feel very good. In fact the first time I put them on I really didn't want to take them off, that's how good the felt. I have nephropathy in my feet and my feet hurt all the time but not so bad now with these shoes on. I can go out and shop now for a longer period of time before my feet start hurting real bad.

After decades of wearing another model, circumstance compelled me trade up. I wish I had done so years ago.

The latest rendition of the New Balance Classic 990 is better than ever. I bought and wore the very first New Balance Trackster as a freshman cross-country athlete at CBA in Lincroft, New Jersey in 1963. Legendary runner and author, Dr. George Sheehan, introduced us to the brand and wore them religiously as he ran alongside all three school cross-country teams at our daily practices -- Frosh, JV, and Varsity. Of course, we all wanted to be like Dr. Sheehan and became early adopters and fans of New Balance shoes -- white with a red stability strap across the forefoot and black ripple soles. Nice wide toe box. I would love to have a pair of those today. The new 990v5's I just slipped onto my feet are worlds beyond those wonderful originals in comfort, stability. technology, and performance. Yet they still exude the same level of character and personality as the originals. Very happy with my purchase.

Great fit right out of the box! Perfect for long walks.

Got them as a gift for my dad & he loves them. Comfortable as all NB are & look great with athleisure clothes or jeans.

Ordered extra wide, but not good fit.....had to return for full refund.

Excellent support for my feet, comfortable to wear and walk in.

This is about the fourth pair of Balance I have bought.

I really like the 990 v5 a lot. I try to walk about 3 miles every day and these shoes make that an enjoyable experience. I also try to get 10,000 steps each day. This is my second pair of the v5 and it is the best yet.

For fast walking, and running. Obvious high quality. Love the "Made in the USA" mark. Fit great, great comfort.

Pricey but sturdy. Heavy but stable. Traditional style. Buying experience was mixed. Citibank not a terrific partner for LL.

I walk and run 5 miles at least 4 times a week. I have been purchasing this model (990) for many years through its various generations. The fit is perfect and it is a very comfortable shoe for me. I weigh around 200 lbs and the support the shoe gives me is great.

Always liked the 990 series from New Balance. The few upgrades are nice but its still just a great basic walking shoe. I have mobility issues and the wide footbed helps stabilize me when I walk.

These shoes are very comfortable not squishy soft but stiff almost balanced feeling. It may not be for everyone but is definitely a great pair for all day wear. It does run true to size for me but may be different for others

I use it as an all purpose shoe. I always buy New Balance 990

This is my everyday shoe because it's so comfortable. I go on two to three mile walks every day and love the comfort. It has greatly helped with arthritis in my right foot... NO PAIN!!! I highly recommend this shoe.

Finally I've found a New Balance running shoe to fit my long, skinny 13AAA feet pretty well. 13AA is the narrowest NB seems to make--and not for every color of 990v5 shoes. The toe part is a good fit for me, but I had to pad the heels with about 3/8 inch of felt to keep my feet from sliding sideways there. After wearing them for about 15 miles I see that the first (front) lacing holes need to be drawn close together. That will produce a longitudinal wrinkle over the foot, but will fit more snugly and comfortably. I'll use a short, second lace for that and leave it permanently tied tight. (These are modifications I've almost always had to make to shoes, not only to NB shoes.) Even without these mods, the shoes are very comfortable, and I expect the wear to be a little more even with the heels padded on the outside of the shoe, which moves my weight a bit to the inside.

I have been wearing 990s since 2006 & the 990 v 5 is the most comfortable to date.
