This is my first Arc shoe experience. I purchased this shoe for a late summer traverse close to the Alaska/B.C. border and here are my thoughts.
Fit: I usually wear 9 in Nike, LaSportiva (except my Evos and G2 SM that it's 9.5) and Salomon. The fit is precise with a very nice width. In the beginning, I thought they were a tad tight but after you put them on for a couple of days and dial in the lacing properly it is a fit with just the space needed. Even when feet swell a bit from all day in uphill/downhill and altitude the space is adequate. Also, I have not had a hot spot wearing light merino running socks.
Design: When I purchase and Arcteryx product or better yet all outdoor gear that I buy, I always think about identifying/decoding the design team's thoughts from materials to the end product. Unfortunately, no matter what a product description on intended use entails it takes time to understand every detail of a product and requires utilization of the product in different settings. Sometimes, you have to push a bit the limits by deviating from the overall range of its intended use. I believe that the design can push the boundaries when attempting day or multi-day objectives with low pack weight.
Materials: I am not going to hide a concern that I have had when I open the box. The material is very minimalistic with great lamination but I was concern about durability for my objective. The added toe box protection was extremely useful when I had to scramble and move downhill while sometimes inevitably had to slide down through sharp granite scree. The materials are excellent for their weight and I have not had any damage other than surface scratches. The sole is not stiff but not bouncy either making comfort and ground feel to be in a great balance. One thing that I was surprised about was the grip and the rock plate performance for the overall weight of the shoe. The Gore material is waterproof and with mod temps and thin socks did not seem to me that my feet wet from sweat or water. I use a pair of casual and did not leak in rainy days. while walking in the city.
So, for whom and what objectives this shoe is made for? I believe after using the shoe for more than six months that although the show is intended for fast and light mountain use it can be used everywhere for low, medium, or high output activities.

I purchased these over a year ago. So far so great! I've used them for about for hiking, approx 150 miles on the pedometer and they're holding up beautifully. I also wear them at the gym and to knock around the city. So far all of the seems are tight, no buckles or gaps. The tread is surprisingly resilient considering that I wear them on pavement in the city. I also love the light weight, and the toe cap which has saved my toes on several occasions. Great shoe!

I just finished putting 500 miles on these hiking boots on the Appalachian Trail from Harpers Ferry, WV up to Massachusetts. . To include the brutal Pennsylvania rocks. I had 100 on them to start with so have a total of 600 to date. I've seen issues posted about durability, but these boots have been fantastic for me. Light weight and even the soles still have good tread remaining. The vibram soles griped well on the NY and CT rock climbs and still have good tread.

I've had these shoes for about 18 months and they've held up perfectly. They are super lightweight, waterproof, and sturdy for their weight. Whether I'm hiking in the Hudson Valley or out in Colorado, these meet all of my needs. They feel like a sneaker on your foot but react well to rough terrain and variable weather.

Bought in Sept 2019 for 1 month trip in France. Wore 40 miles a week. Very comfortable. Wore them today on a 5 mile hike on dirt and sand trails in Pensacola, FL. Still very comfortable. Holding up well, no issues with them. Size ran a tiny bit long and a small bit narrow but perfect for my foot.

I ordered these and tried and tried to keep them but finally sent them back since just a little narrow for me. Loved the feel, style, action. If they ever make a wider model, I'd order them in a minute.

Purchased a year ago for their lightweight specs and stylish appearance. Initially I was hesitant to put too much heavy use on them so mostly used them on easy dayhikes and walks but with time I appreciated them more and more. They are extremely comfortable and seem really durable. In September, looking to go as lightweight as possible, I took them as my only footwear on 7 day Tour Du Mont Blanc trek (with 20lb backpack) and they rocked!!! Happy feet, no blisters and barely any signs of wear on the shoes. Highly recommended.

These are a great balance between comfort, warmth and durability. I love wearing them in the winter months to tromp around, ski touring trailhead, and more.

Bought these for my day to day hikes as a trial, and ended up using them on all my overnight hikes over the summer months. Comfortable, lightweight and durable.

I bought these a year ago be because I was having plantar fasciitis issues with my other boots. I loved the fact that the inserts could be removed and my orthotics fit in beautifully. They are very light in weight and fit my feet like a glove. They are so comfortable and I can wear them all day

Exactly what I wanted. Good for day hikes, love the waterproofing. I have used the all over the world - fall in the Appalachians, Spring in the Rockies, Winter and Summer in the Sierra's, month long vacation in Iceland, fall in Alaska - have been right there with me and my go to shoe. Love it. Will keep wearing these as they keep making them. Lightweight, comfortable, do it all shoe.

Really lightweight, breathable, and reliable shoes with excellent grip with the characteristic great design from Arc'teryx. They did damage my ankles causing some blisters, I have been using a different brand for years and I suspect this is just some adjustment period. In summary, these are my new favorite summer hiking shoes!

New disc golf shoes. I wore adidas terrex like most but the second iteration of the shoe I wore was trash and I was looking for something with a little ankle support and these are the jam.

I bought this shoe for work and disc golf. Mostly disc golf. I was looking for a shoe/boot that was lightweight, gore-tex,let me "feel" the ground, and had decent ankle support. Without being a minimalist shoe this let's me feel the ground and I am connected with it. The ankle support is just what I wanted, not to stiff but not just enough to help me from rolling my ankle. And it's got a clean smooth design to it, nothing flashy but that just let's the quality of the material and craftsmanship to stand out and shine.

Had these for several months now and have had no issues at all.
They went on a 35 mile trail walk right out the box and performed exceptionally well over rough and often wet ground, stoney track, miles of flat forest road and some bog too.
Toe box is roomy and accommodates feet swelling on long days.
The mesh upper keeps them cool but creates a strange sensation when walking through puddles of water as it instantly cools the feat and they feel wet for a while. I even had to take the show off as I was convinced they were leaking, but they were not.
That cool mesh keeps them comfy and relatively sweat-free for a gtx shoe.
These are sized accurately but are not as wrap-around secure as an Arcteryx trail shoe; definitely designed with a slightly thicker sock in mind

These shoes are wonderful! My feet are a bit on the narrow side but they still fit great. Comfortable enough to wear all day whether hiking or just doing daily activities.

Very happy with these boots, they're very waterproof and hard wearing. Only thing I would change is that the back of the shoe has not got very much padding but once they are worn in, this is not an issue. Looking forward to summer to do some longer hikes in these!
