I've had these only a few weeks but have done some serious hiking. They fit great (same size as my road runners) very comfy. Did a fairly challenging 9 mile hike in snow, ice and mud a few days after I received them and they held out nice. Left my spikes home but these gripped just fine. I thought I might be feeling a blister but when I got home my feet were perfectly dry and blister free. I really like these and we'll see how they hold out. Wish they weren't so d*mn expensive but if I get some good miles out of them it will be well worth it.

These shoes are amazing; hard wearing, grip like nothing else, so comfortable and the greatest compliment .. copied by other major manufacturers but they can't match arcteryx quality. These are the best. Check out youtube videos too.

Living in Vancouver means you can really test how waterproof a product is. I remember wearing this on a light drizzle day, but stepping into a puddle where my shoes were completely submerged. This particular model is mid rise, so my socks were kept dry. The breathability also minimizes the trapped moisture inside. Have already recommended this pair to some hiker friends.

I've worn mine hiking and casually and works for both. Totally waterproof and a grippy tread. I normally wear a 12 and the size is true. Great toe box from and the width fit isn't to tight.

From the virtual appointment with Dave in the Boston Store, to quick shipping, to a great product, I have loved the whole experience.
These have become by everyday shoe, and I think they are lightweight enough to use for lifting in the gym. They are true to size - I ordered a 10.5 mens. Some reviews said they run narrow, but that isn't the case with my pair, and my foot tends to run wide. The fit and styling is great. LOVE them.

I'm enjoying this shoe. I'm a Postal Letter carrier and find it has good support and keeps my feet dry. The weight of the shoe is great as well.
The improvement I would like to see is to have a place for the laces once tied. A pocket on the tongue would be perfect. This would be great because the end of the lace sometimes ends up getting jammed between my leg and the tongue, so a pocket would eliminate this issue entirely (or tension laces like Salomon).

These are very comfortable shoes, grippy on any terrain and looking good, too. The usual quality you expect from Arc'teryx. The fit is good and quite wide in the toe box.

They fit great, just use the sizing chart. I have been breaking these in with short easy hikes so far. It takes about a day for a pair of shoes wreck my feet. These inside feel as good and even better than my Brooks hikers

This is my first Arc shoe experience. I purchased this shoe for a late summer traverse close to the Alaska/B.C. border and here are my thoughts.
Fit: I usually wear 9 in Nike, LaSportiva (except my Evos and G2 SM that it's 9.5) and Salomon. The fit is precise with a very nice width. In the beginning, I thought they were a tad tight but after you put them on for a couple of days and dial in the lacing properly it is a fit with just the space needed. Even when feet swell a bit from all day in uphill/downhill and altitude the space is adequate. Also, I have not had a hot spot wearing light merino running socks.
Design: When I purchase and Arcteryx product or better yet all outdoor gear that I buy, I always think about identifying/decoding the design team's thoughts from materials to the end product. Unfortunately, no matter what a product description on intended use entails it takes time to understand every detail of a product and requires utilization of the product in different settings. Sometimes, you have to push a bit the limits by deviating from the overall range of its intended use. I believe that the design can push the boundaries when attempting day or multi-day objectives with low pack weight.
Materials: I am not going to hide a concern that I have had when I open the box. The material is very minimalistic with great lamination but I was concern about durability for my objective. The added toe box protection was extremely useful when I had to scramble and move downhill while sometimes inevitably had to slide down through sharp granite scree. The materials are excellent for their weight and I have not had any damage other than surface scratches. The sole is not stiff but not bouncy either making comfort and ground feel to be in a great balance. One thing that I was surprised about was the grip and the rock plate performance for the overall weight of the shoe. The Gore material is waterproof and with mod temps and thin socks did not seem to me that my feet wet from sweat or water. I use a pair of casual and did not leak in rainy days. while walking in the city.
So, for whom and what objectives this shoe is made for? I believe after using the shoe for more than six months that although the show is intended for fast and light mountain use it can be used everywhere for low, medium, or high output activities.

The Aerios Mid GTX has been my primary show for about a year now. Unless I'm wearing sandals or wading in water fishing, the Aerios is what I'm wearing. From hiking in Moab to clearing snow from my driveway in Minnesota, this boot does not disappoint. The Vibram outsole inspires confidence when walking on wet logs, rocks, or slippery packed snow. When I've walked through wet creek crossings, the GORE-TEX material used on the boot has kept my feet dry and has saved me when I thought I was stepping on a pile of leaves and my foot sunk about three inches into wet mud. The GORE-TEX material also makes the boot very breathable. The first cold weather day I wore these shoes, I was wearing a thinner summer sock and my feet did get cold. I don't blame this on the boot as it doesn't claim to be insulated and insulating it would make it less comfortable in the summer. Since then I've worn a thicker sock on cold days which has allowed me to hike snow covered trails in 20-degree (F) temperatures without my feet being cold at all. All these attributes make this a great outdoor boot, but I should also note that I stand on my feet behind a desk at work and my feet are never sore. The materials used throughout the boot are very lightweight, so I never feel like I'm wearing a heavy boot in the office. The boot weighs much closer to that of some popular trail running shoes than any competitive hiking boot. If I were doing more technical scrambling or hiking with a heavier pack, I'd likely look at the Acrux TR GTX boot for more ankle support but for me, I believe the Aerios FL Mid GTX is the best all-round boot for someone that wants a stylish, wear-everywhere boot that won't let you down when you get off the paved trails.

This is a great boot. It's versatile and durable and cleans very easily. It satisfies all my needs for my off-trail hikes.
It's lightweight, has a non-slip tread and has a slick style. I've even considered wearing this shoe on the basketball court, considering it's ankle support.
I've worn this shoe for off trail hikes in the Santa Monica Mountains of Los Angeles and literally hours later (after an extremely quick rinse off) worn out to parties in Hollywood ala Timbalands of the early 2000s Hip-hop era.
I love this shoe and already have recommended it to friends and family.
My only small grievance was that I purchased this boot online and I did expect it to be a little blacker in color. In reality, the nuanced difference doesn't bother me but it was worth noting that my shoe is more a dark navy blue rather than a black.

I first purchased the Norvan LD GTX intending it for 2-8 hour activities in the lower mainland of BC. Trail running, hiking and rugged, root and rocky ascents and descents. This Norvan is light and the sole is overly soft. Good waterproof characteristics but once off of the street, you might as well be wearing sandals. Even the Grouse grind demonstrated this shoes lack of support, grip and protection. I took the Norvan's to Switzerland and France as my city shoe this past winter and the sole provided very little grip in snow, slush and ice. In my opinion, without sounding negative, the Norvan LD GTX is an average "Pacific Spirit Park" trail runner or Robson street Sunday browser.
Frustrated, I purchased the Aerios FL MID GTX. This shoe is far more suited for an active, lower mainland of BC lifestyle. Good toe and ankle protection/support. The sole is far more solid and provides more grip. The overall shoe is waterproof and the MID model seems keeps the rocks, sand and dirt away from your socks.
I am super impressed with the Aerios FL MID GTX thus far and look forward to where they will take me. Already these shoes are a far more versatile and suitable shoe for my needs. I am a muscular 5'9" 190lbs. (sub 40 min Grinder) if it helps interpret this comparison review. Thanks for reading this review.

I have been looking for a mid height running and everyday shoe that fit well. I wear a size 7 and usually difficult to find. This shoe fits very well and super comfortable that I bought a second pair in a different color.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
Runs SmallRuns Large
Runs NarrowRuns Wide
Poor SupportGreat Support
Every time I use these for tough conditions I am more and more impressed! The grip is better than any shoe I have ever owned, particularly noticeable in rainy and steep situations (pavement and mud). The lugs are big underneath which means rocks don’t get stuck on the bottom. They do sometimes make a strange suction noise when walking, but not always (the functionality of these far outweighs any slight noise issues). I can’t believe how light and comfortable these are, but able to take some decent abuse. I normally wear a wide, but with some lace manipulation these work great and remain comfortable after all day wearing (they have only become more comfortable over time, but superb out of the box too). These have fit great with normal socks and thick Smartwool socks. These breathe so well, my feet never overheat in hot situations and remained warm in colder situations with thick socks. True to size fit. I have plantar fasciitis issues and the support on these makes it not much of an issue (Hoka One One are my daily shoes). I couldn’t be happier with these shoes!! I tested over half dozen waterproof shoes before committing to these and couldn’t be happier...I hope they never stop making these!
I'd also recommend:

I was looking for a hiking boot which is light, waterproof, reasonably breathable, suitable for short to medium hikes with no load or a light pack, grippy, and provides just a bit of ankle support.
Reading the product description, my needs line up with the design intent of this boot.
After several months using this boot in cold to warm conditions, both dry and wet, I find that this boot meets its design intent very well.
Unlike some other reviewers, I did find that this boot needed tens of miles of break-in, but after the break-in they're comfortable and the feel is consistent. Also unlike some other reviewers, I wouldn't wear these boots for daily use, since there are more comfortable options for that purpose (e.g., running shoes).
The best testament I can give is that when it comes time to replace these boots, I won't bother shopping to consider other options, I'll just buy another pair of these. And these boots are proving quite durable so far, so I anticipate that it will be a while before they need replacement.
Bottom line: I think Arc'teryx got it right with these boots, and they fill an important niche in the market.
