Bought this a month ago for my trail runs and it's a fantastic shoe. I had the old one but the new model is lighter and better grip. So comfy. Recommend it highly

These shoes are fantastic. They are so solid. The soles are steady as a rock.

I've worn them 6 times, different terrains and they are a perfect fit for the use. They are comfortable, stable and great quality. I'm just sorry I didn't purchase two pair when I placed my order.

I've been buying variations of the Speedcross for years now and just love this shoe. It's sturdy on rocks and uneven ground, good for running or light hiking on trails, yet super comfortable to wear every day. My only complaint is I like to wear this shoe all the time and since I walk alot on pavement, the treads wear down pretty quickly. Oh well, even knowing that I wear it anyway.

I got these shoes approximately 6 months ago. I had been looking for a good trail shoes for runs and long hikes in muddy, cool, puddle-filled Northern CA. These were the perfect cinderella slipper fit! I won't touch any of my other shoes. I have the SPEEDCROSS 5 and they are perfect for my high arches, roomy toe box for slight bunions and help with my slight supination with it's sturdy sole keeping me neutral. I LOVE the lace up feature (or lack there of). The pull tab keeps your perfect tightness without loosening up and no more untied laces! I can never go back. Tromping through puddles and mud and creeks is no problem and keep my feet dry and warm. Although, I'm in the perfect environment for these shoes, cool, damp, muddy, I took these to southern CA when visiting my parents and went out for a run only to get very overheated. This is to be expected with Gortex but thought I'd mention for those we live in the heat or their feet get hot. Scaling boulders and ridges is no problem as I am always confident in my footing with these. They do run a bit big...I usually where a 9 and ended up returning and buying an 8. Having said that, I might go up to 8.5 in my next purchase due feet swell on high miles hikes. PLEASE BRING BACK BURNT OLIVE! Perfect color without being flashy and not too dark. I will buy a burnt olive supply to last the rest of my life :)

After slipping one too many times on PNW trails (with other brands) I got on the website to find a pair with solid grip. Finally got to use them for a week in the desert and loved them! I could bounce from lava rock to lava rock with confidence the shoe wouldnt just slip off. Anxious to test them in our rainy forests with slippery rocks, however I have no doubt they will perform well. They run just slightly big. I generally wear a nine, but bought an 8 1/2 however could easily go down to 8 if I wanted a tighter feel. Ill be putting a couple more pay checks to a few other pairs of Salomons. Love how they fit.

I'm a trail runner and I've put many miles on these since buying them last month. I've owned the Speedcross 3, several Speedcross 4 in both regular and GTX versions, and now the Speedcross 5 Wide. Because of three previous foot surgeries and a fourth yet to come, I'm having more and more trouble finding a shoe that's accomodating and doesn't make me want to rip it off within minutes of wearing. These Speedcross 5 Wide's have just enough added width to make a real difference. I LOVE THEM. I normally wear a size 8 in all Speedcross versions and Salomon hiking boots - I prefer size 7.5 in these and I can still wear a mid-weight running sock. I hope Salomon will continue to make these. They are my new go-to trail runners for sure. I'd love to see this fit in one of the hiking boots as well. Thanks Salomon!

Really really great shoe! This is my third pair of salomons and I totally love them. They fit great, keep my feet warm down to -20 F, are excellent on ice, trail, or road, and supply excellent support. Totally a fan of these shoes, would definitely buy again.

They grip brilliantly and give me confidence on a slippery downhill as well as helpful traction uphill. Even without GTX my feet stay comparitively dry when running through significant mud/water, and if they do get wet they dry fast. I was slightly concerned about how deeper lugs would feel on any short road sections my trail routes might contain, but I needen't have been. Still my first choice of trail shoe.

I bought these shoes for Treking in Patagonia. We hiked 79 miles in snow, rain, mud, and sun and these kept my feet dry the entire time! No blistering, very durable, and comfortable!

The shoe is good quality and good fit. This is about the 10th pair of Speedcross shoes I've bought. Love them.

Had to wait for these to come back in stock. Glad I was patient! I love these shoes for walking or running on the trails. color combo is so cool too.

Well padded, more than speedcross 4, sits a little higher on the ankle providing a little more protection for the ankle. I am pleased with this purchase and highly recommend.
