I have had many versions of the Speedcross in the past and they have all been pretty bullet proof. However what I really like about the 5 is that Salomon added more padding around the ankle, the toe box is a little wider and when your running on roots, rocks or even on the road, your foot feels wrapped in a comfortable, padded supportive shoe that give you confidence to run harder on unstable ground. To be honest I wouldnt mind having a road running shoe with the same style of feel except make it more breatable. I find myself doing runs where I am running through the forest but I have to run 3 miles back to the car on the road and many times I have imagined having street tred on my Speedcross 5. But thats just me. K

I have recently bought the speedcross 5 for hiking, instead of hiking boots since I prefer the flexibilty and lightweight when going for long hikes. These shoes really impressed me, particularly for the comfort and grip. I've used for about 60-70Km now and really like it.

Excellent grip while hiking in mountains, lightweight with good support. Feet were still comfortable at the end of a 15 mile hike.

I'm on my second pair and at 175 miles on the second pair. They are fantastic for training and for trail running!

I have been using this shoe for as long as it has been around. I use it on trail runs and muddy mountain uphill runs all the time and the fit is perfect. It never slips on my foot and I have never once got a blister or a hot sport regardless of how long I go or the terrain. I have found no other shoe that offer the traction needed for wet and slippery trails.

Dies ist vermutlich mein 10ter Speedcross! Bin froh das Salomon hier nicht unntig was verndert und "optimiert"! Der Schuh war und ist super - never change a running system :-) !

i have at least 3 generations of speedcross - this is the best to date improved areas: - sole new tread pattern, still very similar but heel cleat is better and material seems more durable - heel box and support, this appears to be completely reworked for lateral durability. this has always been the point of failure with past pairs. they just collapse and start to give in to my pronation (after about 100 hrs) the rest remains essentially the same great design

I already have the Speedcross 4 and was so impressed, I bought the 5. they are like wearing a pair of slippers, the build quality is superb, not to mention they look good as well. will never buy another pair of mainstream trainers again.

This is my 4th pair of Speedcross. Love the way it fits my foot. I use it for all types of trail surfaces in the Northeast.

Love, love , love my Speedcross runners! Can't say enough about how stable these shows are. They fit my foot perfectly, are super breathable and grip the trail like no other. I love them so much that I have several different colors in the same style.
