Bought these shoes, hoping for an ACTUAL EE wide trail runner. They most definitely weren't that. I'm sure that they are great shoes, but not for anyone with actual wide feet.

I just received these 4 days ago and wore to work to help break in. The feel very comfortable. I didn’t do anything except walk around in them and after that they are splitting already. They are the right size and width. I just feel I got a bad pair. Not impressed with them after this.

This is my third pair of Speedcross 5 GTX. Previous two pair, loved, and they lasted for ever. This latest pair i bought on line about 4 months ago. Assumed they be the same as my previous pair. Unfortunately not : they are narrow and haven't expanded much with my foot. The outside of my foot has hurt from day one specifically my left foot. I do have a wide foot. Disappointed.

I've been a big fan of Speedcross 3 and Spikecross 3. Great shoes! Stocked up when I heard that Salomon was moving onto Speedcross 4. Wore out my 3's and had to buy a 5. Ankle padding reduced resulting in less stability. Worst part is that the area surrounding the ball of the foot has been enlarged. First time in ten years that I began to experience shin splints. Also, feet began to ache. Switched to Speedcross 3 Advanced (unisex). What a difference! Unlike the 5's which disburse energy in all directions, the 3 Advanced focuses body weight to the ball of the foot which translates into tremendous grip/speed. Even while walking through an asphalt lot, the focused grip of the 3 Advanced under the ball of the foot feels the shoe is trying to dig its way into the pavement. Too bad Salomon appears intent on killing off the 3 Advance. Just bought a pair of 4's after trying to buy another 3 Advanced and no stock. If 5's are all that will be left, you'll have lost me as a customer. P.S. For past ten years, I've been running a 4 mile section of an intermediate mountain bike trail three times per week, year round. I've used many shoes, but nothing does the job like Speedcross 3's. Whoever had you change the design of the 3's knows nothing about trail running.

Bought these in Grape Leaf/Black 10.5 Wide. I have worn the Salomon brand for years, and was excited to finally find a pair available in a "wide" size. Well, I got news for you, they are NOT wide. The box they came in was labeled 10.5EE. But the shoe label stated US-10.5. There was a little tag on the laces of both shoes the read "wide size" (I think.) They do stretch a little but not to a width that I consider wide. I compared them out of the box to other pairs of trail shoes that I have, and they were actually narrower. Disappointed, yes. But I was able to pawn them off on a Park Ranger who loves them instead of going through the hassle of returning them.

I just received them in the mail after waiting a two weeks and come to find out Salomon has no idea what "wide" means. The shoes look awesome, but these are the narrowest wide shoes I've ever tried on. I have to return them. I am so disappointed.

Tried them on and instantly realized how narrow the EE width was. Walked around my carpet for less than a minute and shoes were just too tight and sole was narrow leading to ankles rolling. I love my Salomon EE hiking boots, but these are dangerous for a wide foot and just missed the mark.

Bought these 2 months ago wore them twice and the paint on the inside of both shoes are chipping off after just 2 races.. plus I got blisters on both feet after wearing then the second time. My Solomon speedcross 4 is what I will be wearing going forward as I've had them for 2 years 10+ races and still in good shape.
