The pockets arent waterproof? Theyre nets? Is this a Columbia jacket? Otherwise the jacket is good

I bought this jacket to replace a PreCip that I had for over 10 years. That one was tired and starting to peel on the inside. Got my money's worth for that one. The new one is pretty much exactly the same. Fits the same. I again bought a L (5'9"/175), so I could wear a vest or light puffer underneath. My only complaint is that the new one doesn't come with zipper pulls like the last one. Makes it a bit more difficult to unzip both jacket and pockets if you're wearing gloves or a backpack. Can't imagine those little pulls cost more the a dollar, if that, for main and pocket zippers.

Bought this jacket for my husband in Black about 4 years ago. Nice material, waterproof and great to just have to travel. My only issue is that the white lining is wearing out in areas and is visible around neck area so can no longer wear.

Replacement for 10 year old precip jacket. Did the job well waterproof and wind proof. Wish they had kept the zipped pocket in the sleeve but overall very good buy. I use for hiking as top layer. Recently in Zion , Bryce (November) in 20/30 F weather

Bought two of these jackets for myself and my husband prior to heading away on a hiking vacation that was predicted to be a bit wet. (News flash - it was a LOT wet). The jackets kept us very dry from all of the rain, protected us from the wind, easily packed down for storage in it's own pocket. Our only complaint was that there were no ventilation chambers/holes included in the jacket design so that the breathability was only through the fabric itself. So, while we stayed wet from the rain, it trapped quite a bit of body moisture underneath while we were trekking all over VT. So, if you're less active, this is a great jacket for you! If you're more active or if you are "naturally more moist than the average bear", you're going to avoid zipping it up which makes it less effective.

Jacket is perfect for raining weather. I find the hood too large or I have yet to figure out how to adjust it. When hood is under collar is a bit bulkie

Worked well on its first rainy day. I like that it is a bit longer than some other jackets of this type.

Needed light weight rain coat for humid summers in mid-Atlantic. Prior gore-tex coat is way too hot. This is a great stand-in. Only downside is that zipper doesn't come with a paracord. However, easy to order ones online and install on the jacket.

High quality built, Great to take with you for hiking in case it rains a bit, the Only issue I had so far is one of the pockets has a hole because the seams unstitched. Anyways, it is very easy to fix. I would recommend it and I would buy it again.

Love the bright blue color, light weight, and zippers under arms for air ventilation.

T ook my 8 year old son on a 5 day hiking trip. In Panther town Valley in Cashiers North Carolina. It rained 3 of the four days. The jacket protected as parts of him and kept him dry and was lightweight enough to not have heat exhaustion from the hunity.

I have found the PreCip to be durable and reliable over the last few years. Can be a little stiff when compared to some soft shells, but I am always confident that the rain wont ruin my outing, and it didnt beak the bank.

I've always loved my PreCip jacket as it is perfect for withstanding the Tropical Rainsforest rain we get in Guatemala, where I currently live. It is also extremely light and breathable. However, I just gave it four stars because my last one had to be replaced the inside white coating began to fall apart even when following washing instructions. Fortunately, Marmot has outstanding customer service and sent me a new one when I provided them with my proof of purchase. It runs true to size and colors are gorgeous; had a hard time deciding which one to get.

This packable rairgear worked well in my travels when wind or rain were an issue. I'm not pleased with the velcro attachments along the zipper as they catch clothes if not careful.

This is my second purchase of this item over several years. Serves well the purpose of a thin, packable wind shell, essential for travel. Nice appearance, has functional hood. The white inner lining was not durable on the first jacket, but I bought it again due to its many positive qualities. The previous jacket was not fully waterproof, just water resistant; I am hoping this one is waterproof.

Great productwell designed (except I can't quite figure out what is going on with the pockets...).
I bought it because it was an affordable PFAS-free alternative, and it's working well for me as both a raincoat and a windbreaker. I'd like to see more PFAS-free products from Marmot!

Gave my son my 15 year old Marmot rain jacket (What was I thinking?). So, I recently ordered a new one; same color and style. Everything's great except the left and right side zipper vents. There's no mesh material once unzipped! If it's warm and raining, you have to leave it zipped up; otherwise you will get wet.

Love the jacket I would have given it a 5 star but the jacket fits fine if not a little loose on top but across my stomach the fit is very snug. Marmots sizing seems to kinda run on the small size. A large would have been to big in the chest and sleeves.

I bought this to replace my previous PreCip Eco jacket because the lining had deteriorated. My fingers are crossed that the lining on this one will be more durable. I really like so many of the features: how the hood stows in the collar, lightweight and breathable material, waterproof finish, zippered pockets, velcro cuffs and drawstrings on the hood. I had gotten many compliments on my previous royal blue jacket and was disappointed that Royal Night is darker and a duller shade of blue than before. Another change is in the fit. The new jacket fits more narrowly at the hips. Since I wear the Eco PreCip jacket for xc-sking, hiking, etc. I expect it will feel snugger when wearing a fleece layer under it.
The delivery was quicker than I expected. This jacket is a good value, since the Royal Night was offered at a great price.

Color is as I had hoped. Silvery gray. Very nice for Spring. Fits very well and as expected. It's winter here so I have not worn it at all yet.

Fit is a little snug if you want to add more than one layer of size up. More pockets would be great.

I bought a Precip rain jacket 6 years ago and it is not only my go to for rain around town but goes on all my backpacking adventures. I considered buying a hardshell for winter to protect my down coat, but my Precip already does the job well. I just refresh the waterproofing treatment and it keeps on protecting me. Thanks MARMOT, BIll P
