Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
This is a great basic raincoat shell. It's a pretty standard fit (not slim). No insulation, just a shell. Lightweight. The hood does not detach but can be rolled up into the collar. There are adjusters on each side of the hood to make it tighter on the head if desired. The pockets are a good size & zip closed.

Purchased about a month ago. Love the color. Its so unique. The jacket is wonderful in the rain. The hood covers my head enough that my long hair doesn't get wet. It also, has breathable compartments for you as well. It will keep you dry. People love the color too.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
I got the Marmot Precip Eco jacket for my teenage son, as I have a women's Marmot jacket which I love. This is a great lightweight rain coat, size is true to form, and easy to have a light layer on underneath if cold. He is an active Boy Scout and he will get a lot of use out this jacket on outings.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
The Marmot Precip Eco Jacket fits in XXL fits my huge son who is 6"6'. Not only is it big enough around, it is also long enough in the sleeves. (This means that if you are an average height man, this may be too big for you). It is very light weight. It works as a waterproof outer layer but doesn't provide warmth. It will be great for travel as it is lightweight and folds very small. I wouldn't say this is stylish but it is a functional rain jacket. The one drawback is that the fabric is a bit noisy in the way a shell jacket often is.

We surprised our niece with this rain jacket to take with her to her first year of college. She loves it - the color and fit. She's 5'3 and small framed. The small fits her perfectly.

This is my second Marmot PrCip; the previous one was over 15 years old and was my best lightweight, packable rain parka ever.

This jacket is really well made. It is very stylish, light, but wind resistant. It has zippered pockets to keep items dry and the hood is designed to keep head dry against windy conditions. The multi color allows a person to wear many different outfits. I love this jacket and recommend it highly.

I like everything about this jacket. I like the fit, the color, the cut, the pit zips and the way it keeps me dry. I bought a couple extra for my teenagers.

It's a nice wind-breaker type jacket. For my needs, it works out well. I did think it was going to be more of an insulated jacket, but it grew on me fast.

I wanted an affordable rain jacket that wasnt made with PFAS. I also bought this one because it has long sleeves; I am 61 and they were the perfect length. Its light and breathable. It doesnt rub again your chin like other rain jackets with high, stiff collars. Yes, its a little bit crinkly when you move but not terrible. If you want a super quiet jacket, dont buy this one. Overall, happy with this purchase.

Still a great fit. 3rd one I've owned. Miss the hood zipping into the collar and the chest pocket. Also the rubberized cuff adjusters were easier to manipulate with gloves on. Still, The Precip appears to remain a great value rain jacket

This is my second jacket of this style. I love it! My only complaint is over time, the white/gray lining starts to "peel" off. That's the only reason I bought another--the little flecks were sticking to my clothes.

Havent tried it in the rain yet but wore it in the shower to test the waterproofing and it performed very well. Very little water seepage into the seems, I imagine a light rain will be perfectly fine but really long in a torrential downpour may have a little seepage.

I loved this jacket until I was doing field work in the rain last weekend. It's the first time I wearing the jacket out in rain for that long. (I've had the jacket for two years) About three hours into the work (in steady rain), my shirt under the jacket began to get wet all over. Other times when I've worn it in rain for shorter periods of time, it worked perfectly.

Purchased an older version ~8 yrs ago which is now suffering from the frequently noted liner flaking/de-lamination inside hood and collar areas. Marmot is effectively replacing it for free under their warranty (easy photo based process). Offered store credit that was enough to repurchase the current model in one of the sale price colors. Hopefully the previous purchase was simply a random defect and/or the current version's design has improved... time will tell.
