These my not be the prettiest things you ever put on your feet, but they are definitely the most comfortable! I use these for heavy duty city walking (8-12miles/day) and I love them. My feet never hurt, no blisters and my legs and hips always feel fine then next day. I am spoiled by these!

I was so disappointed with this “barefoot” shoe. I have 2 other Merrill shoes labeled “barefoot” and I love them. They are soft, have an ample toe box, and are fully flexible, just as a barefoot shoe should be. This pair of trail glove 5’s is not flexible from mid-foot to heel and there is a significant arch support compared to Merrill’s other barefoot shoes. They are going back.

I have been wearing the Vapor Glove 3, and was hoping these would have the same fit, but with a more aggressive tread. I had tried the Trail Glove 4, and found it too narrow, and these were a definite improvement for that, with a much roomier toe box. I found that even though they were larger, my same size was a good fit. The stiffness under the arch did not work for me. There was some forefoot flex, but I like enough flexibility to be able to roll the shoe from end to end, and these were way too stiff for that. I sent then back and got another Vapor Glove 3.

The shoes fits true to my size 9.5. I like how light they are and I wore them for 12 hours today and my feet did not ache at all. I even got a nice compliment from a 10 year old student who thought the shoes looked cool. There you have it! I may order another pair.

These feel wonderful on my feet, it's my second pair now and although they are not the most supportive athletic shoe they work well for my long walks. They were comfortable from the minute I slipped them on and I love the aqua with red and black. The last pair that I bought two years ago held up well. A great shoe!

These should WOULD be great except that they have a really high arch in the middle- which doesn't support the shoe. Barefoot shoes are designed to let the muscles of your feet and legs create your arch, which strengthens them and helps to shift you toward natural posturing. The fake arch here might be fine for folks that don't care about true barefoot technology - but if you do this arch is just in the way.

Extremely comfortable and attractive shoe. True to size. Lightweight and flexible with just the right amount of arch support. The purple color is really nice.

I love Merrell Trail Gloves! They are lightweight but supportive with a wide toe box, by far my favorite minimalist shoes I've ever owned.

I bought 2 pair!

This is my third pair of Merrell barefoot style sneakers. Although I like them, they are not as good as the older ones. There is too much fabric and, as a result, it bunches up across the base of the toes. Also, I bought these a half size smaller than my previous Merrells. However, they look great and are comfortable, in spite of the problems.

I ordered a women’s 10. I am a true 10- the left foot felt great, the right felt a little snug lengthwise. The toe box was wide and roomy, the arch support was firm but comfortable. The soles have a great grip! I’m ordering the next half size up and hoping they fit great.

We walk regularly on rough dirt trails near us. For the upcoming summer, I wanted something cooler and lighter than my regular hiking boot. This shoe fit the qualities I was searching for. I have high arches, so the firm arch support is great. The heel area doesn't slip up and down (no blisters, no ruined socks). The toe box is comfortable, with plenty of room for my toes. The tread on the bottom is hefty enough that I feel comfortable walking up and down hills on loose dirt, sand, gravel or stones. Also, one little detail that I really appreciate - the laces stay tied! I am one satisfied customer.

Great trail shoe

I love them!! I was surprised by just how well they fit and felt.

I really like how wide the toe box is, but they do run a half size larger, at least for me. I bought both a 9.5 and a 9.0. I returned the 9.5. I wore a 9.5 in the Trail Glove 4's. They have a noticeable arch but I have very high arches and it was not an issue. I have narrow heels and these fit well. I wish they had a little more padding but they are zero rise.

Wore this shoe all day and it was comfortable.

I've worn Merrell trail running shoes for four years now and I love how light weight and narrow they are - they fit like a glove! I went to order a new pair only to discover the toe box was waaayyy to wide. The shoe fit snuggly until the toe box, which was too spacious above and to the side of my toes. I do not have overly narrow or small feet; this toe box seems disproportionally large for the rest of the shoe. It's a shame, because I did enjoy the appearance.

I'm a trail runner, and I've been wearing shoes from Merrell's barefoot line for years. I find the toebox fits me better than Vivobarefoot, and the sizing is more consistent. These have a less narrow toebox than the Trail 4's, which is great. However Merrell has added arch support, so I cannot wear them. Everything else is wonderful- style, color, love the mesh and the aggressive tread would be great on trails. I'm going to go back to the Trail 4's, and just size up a half size.

Size 7.5 is enormous, plus very intrusive arch support. Plus did not like color/design.

These shoes are for my 12 year old daughter who has wide, flat feet. She doesn’t like to run because her feet hurt. She liked these shoes as soon as she saw them, and said they felt good on. Then....she went for a run! She ran/walked about 2 1/2 miles on a dirt trail and never felt better. I like that these shoes have arch support but are still minimalist, so she can strengthen her funky flat feet ? ?

I ordered these because I saw quite a few people complain that the arch is too high. I have an extremely high arch and these are pretty supportive, but I could use even more arch support. Otherwise, they’re comfortable, good style, and the grip is great. I wish they made this exact style waterproof for wet hikes. I’ll keep these!

Love these shoes, super lightweight and comfortable (and cute as well!). However in my Merrell Trail Glove 4 shoes I wear an 8 1/2 so I ordered these in the same size; unfortunately they were too big. I wear either an 8 or 8 1/2 depending on the brand and it's a pain when shoes made by the same company aren't consistent. Have reordered in a size 8.

These are extremely comfortable and supportive shoes. Wearing them has eliminated my sensitivity and painful foot problems. I’m extremely pleased! I bought this black pair as a second pair since I loved them so much in blue.

These shoes are AMAZING! They feel barefoot and connected to the ground which is AMAZING. There is light arch support for those who need the arch support they are great! Highly recommend them

I own two pairs of Vapor Gloves, and love them, but wanted a little sturdier sole for trail walking. The Trail Glove looked perfect for that purpose. I was delighted when it arrived. It looked great, fit well, plenty of toe box room, but the arch was too aggressive, especially at the back of the arch. Almost like the arch had been adapted from a shoe with some heel build-up, then just dropped into this zero-rise shoe. Too much, even for my high-arched foot! I felt there would be sore arches in my future if I kept this one. I'm disappointed I couldn't wear the Trail Glove, but must return it.
