I absolutely love these shoes. I actually wear them to work. The waterproof is great.

These shoes fit well and were really comfortable. They are perfect for a light hike.

True to size, supports well on a daily basis.

I bought these right before a two week road trip to national parks with a lot of hiking. I needed wide width due to neuropathy and I have a tough time finding shoes that don't cause pain. I brought along a backup pair in case these sucked. I ended up wearing the Merrell's the entire time! Every day for 17 days. I was surprised at how immediately comfortable they were and I haven't worn those dumb backups ever since. Love these!!

The shoes are very reliable, well designed and made, very durable, and look very good. It grips very well in all environments and is really comfortable. There aren't any downsides to it except maybe it can feel warm in the shoes sometimes while wearing them (though I live in Florida, and they would probably be great for winter time) and they're waterproof. Overall great shoes.

I've been wearing Merrill's a long time, I personally feel there perfect for hiking in the woods and pretty rough terrain as far as traction and grip goes.personally they're my favorite shoe!!

Definitely a good hiking boot and the size is right on.

I just received my new alverstone waterproofs and so far I have no complaints. This is my second pair of Merrell shoes and I have to say that I am very impressed. The only issue I had with my first pair was that they got rips in the upper where the shoe bends from walking or crouching which is something that I have heard happening to a few of my friends who also wear Merrells. If not for that one issue I would still be wearing my first pair because they were still very comfortable and the tread still had some mileage left on them (impressive considering they are almost 3 years old). Hopefully these will last as long if not longer. Regardless, I will most certainly be making Merrell my go to shoes for work. Thinking about getting a pair of the casual/dressier shoes in hopes that they are just as comfortable out of the box as my other 2 have been. I ordered a size 9.5 but I probably could have used a 9. Still won't stop me from getting more Merrell shoes in the future. Keep up the great work!!!!

Got these and they are comfortable. Wore them during a heavy rain and they are definitely water proof. Will definitely recommend these to anyone who wants comfort and water proof.

I feel with the shoes I could hike for hours!

I have RA, and need shoes that are both comfortable, and supportive. I have not used them in serious outside conditions yet, but if they are like the rest of my Merrells, they will do fine :)

This is actually my second pair of Alverstone hikers. I know when I order merrells that my size is consistent and my feet will be comfortable all day.

Here's some considerations: the heel is much higher than the toe, the toe is more narrow than most shoes I have purchased, the shoes make the noise of crinkled plastic when you walk much like many down filled throw pillows

Only problem I have so far with these is, I've noticed they don't handle wet rock,or wet flooring very well I tend to slip. I use these as casual wear also, but love these shoes as these are my 1st shoes from this brand

I work outside and the waterproof feature was very important for me. I worn them at least six in wet conditions and my feet stayed dry each time. Very comfortable too.
