Fairly light and very comfortable. I like them better than my MOAB 2s -- they seem to form to my feet better. A little warm in hot dry weather, but cooler than the Moabs. They are rugged enough for moderate trails with a light pack. Hiked all over Banff National Park with these and they didn't fail!

The shoes were great! They look great! They're waterproof & Kept my feet dry while hiking in snow for three hours.

So far so good. Very comfortable with really good grip. Only been one hike but love them so far.

What a joy never to have wet or cold feet as I went sightseeing and shopping with my daughter in seven European cities this past December. Snow removal in some European cities is handled differently than here in NYC, so often I found we were walking thru snow or slush on the sidewalk or in the street as we went to catch the tram. Never once did my feet complain about the conditions! We walked and walked and walked some more, one day touring 7+ miles. Only issue Since I wore thick wool socks and I never tied my boots tight to keep good circulation, I suffered from "loose lace syndrome". Not looking forward to shoveling snow this winter, but I know my feet will be dry and warm wearing my Alverstones from Merrell.

Very comfortable shoes. I wear these to office, around town, everywhere. Merrell makes a great product. They run a little smaller than my Merrell hiking boots, so I had to exchange the first pair I bought. However, Merrell what great--accepted my return, processed them, and sent the new pair in just over a week's time. I will be wearing Merrells for years to come!

Got them for my husband. He has always purchased Merrell . Loves the comfort and style of the shoe.

I got a size 9.5 medium width and the shoe was too narrow. I had the moab 2 in the past in the same size and it fit great. These Alverstone's were closer to what might be considered a climbing shoe based on how tight they were. I returned them but I would still say they are a great show based on the looks and quality of the build. If you have normal to wide feet maybe try the wide wide or go for the Moabs.

Shoes were super comfortable and withstood a good hike

Always used to hike in just tennis shoes. These hiking shoes definitely make a big difference. They are super comfortable, waterproof, and keep my feet very warm on cold hikes. Would definitely recommend.

These are very snug which is the way I like them for my narrow feet. I use these as my work shoes where I walk miles a day and they're very comfortable.

Supportive and very light weight. And waterproof. What else could you want out of an everday shoe.

This is my 6th pair of merrel's. I wear them mostly to work. I work at a car dealership & I am on my feet all day. They are extremely comfortable. I would recommend them to anyone who's on the feet a lot.

Solid shoes for me. I use Superfeet insoles and throw out the thin Merrell insole as it doesn't support my high arch, but no other shoe's do either, so not a Merrell thing. I like these for hiking and used last weekend at state park in Texas, and will do so many more times. I also wear them to work in as I stand most of the day and with Superfeet insoles, these are solid. I have no arch pain, no issues with my feet rolling, just good support.

This shoe held up extremely well and was comfortable while hiking the Narrows at Mt. Zion National Park along with several other trails through Zion.

Took about five minutes to break them in. They feel incredible. Light weight, sturdy, waterproof. Great pair of shoes/boots.

Have not been able to us them on trails as much as I like. I like the stability and quality of all Merrells. My slip-on ones lasted several years and even glueing the toe area up. But I just bought another pair, similar to these.
