Great shoes. Excellent build. But the laces won't stay tied. If you buy these shoes, just go ahead and buy Lock Laces on Amazon at the same time, and save yourself the frustration.

I'm a new mailman and the job is rigorous. I've only had these shoes for a few weeks, but I walk quickly up to 30 miles a day in them, sometimes in the pouring rain. They're completely waterproof and if there's any hope for my feet, it's probably these shoes. Thumbs up.

An overall comfortable shoe, provides great support and has room in the toe box. The sole is sturdy and feels like a hiking boot. I need a waterproof shoe for in-town errands so want a more cushioned feel in the sole. If I needed a shoe for trail hiking, these would be great.

Bought these for a trip out West. Very comfortable and did not require a break-in period. I have a high arch and slightly wide foot so I needed to go up a half a size.

I 've worn Merrell for ever! Really screwed foot foot up and needed a good arch support, this surely fit the bill outstanding fit Love this one.

These low hikers seem well made, and they are very comfortable right out of the box. Haven't been out it in the rain yet or puddles to check the water-proofness. Last year I purchase the moab 2 waterproof low hikers. They were just ok in the heavy rain; but more importantly they were a little too snug on the left side near my small toes - especially after getting very wet a few times. The Alverstone has much more room overall in the toe box, especially width.

Very comfortable. Bought my normal size, they were just a bit small. Probably would have been fine with thin socks. Ordered a 1/2 size up. Have plenty of toe room and still has a snug fit around the heel.

Very disappointed. Longtime owner of original Merrell Moab Ventilator size 11. Got these as potential replacement. The footbed feels TERRIBLE. It's weirdly narrow right at the ball of the foot, weirdly spacious above the toes, and somehow constantly feels like my foot will fall off the shoe to the outside. Returning and looking for a non-Merrell replacement since I've now tried 4 of their current models and all seem to have design flaws with the innersole shape.

The wide width runs a little large so I ordered the 9 instead of the usual 9-1/2 and they fit my husband perfectly. Great looking and comfortable shoes.

Perfect fit . I’m 10 1/2 wide. Very comfortable to wear. I mainly use them for summer, fall, spring hiking on mountain trails. Grip well, lighter than my last hiking shoes, and have been water proof but only used them once in the rain so still need to reevaluate after more wet trips. Also need to see how they hold up after a year.

Love these!! Got for dog walks on semi rugged trails with water. They work great and are comfortable!

I bought these shoes to hike in Arizona. Tried them yesterday on a trail into the Grand Canyon and they were fantastic. They provided the steady footing in needed on the gravel/sandy trail. Paired with the right socks, my feet didn’t feel hot. They were definitely comfortable. I normally wear a size 12, but Zappos suggested an 11 1/2. Glad I Weber with their recommendation! Fit was perfect.

I love Merrell`s sticky rubber treads on ice. Vibram treads don't come close.

Bought to replace a worn out pair of similar Merrells. Fit like the old ones fit (when new). Previous pair lasted 2 years and are now lawn mowing shoes.

My husband loves these shoes! They replace his old ones just like these-he wore them out! They were comfortable the first day he wore them and they are his new favorite shoes. Great for day hikes. Highly recommend.

Shoe fit well right out of the box. Needed a new pair of waterproof hiking shoes. First three days wearing in wet conditions and they performed great.

This is an amazing shoe, You don't even feel the rocks under your feet. I bought the black and grey, beautiful color and it goes well with jeans and sportswear. It's not exactly a lightweight shoe, I would double check the weight before purchasing.

I am a senior citizen and my main form of exercise is walking. I like to walk 3 to 4 miles at least 5 days a week. All of my walking is done on concrete surfaces. I found these shoes to be very comfortable the first day I wore them. I thought I would test out their comfort by going for a short 1 mile walk. They were so comfortable I ended up doing my 4 miles. I have not had a chance to test the waterproofness of the shoes. I live in the Seattle, Washington, area where rain in the fall, winter and spring is normal but much of the time it is light rain. The shoes are "hiking" shoes but are working well for me on concrete surfaces. When they wear out I fully plan to get the same shoe as replacement.

These are by far the best shoes I have ever purchased for small day hikes or just everyday use, I've bought Merrell boots before but not like these I can wear these literally all day long without problems they are so comfortable. These will for sure be my new go to hikers all the time.

Comfortable shoe, but they are HOT! Feet were sweating like nobody’s business after a half hour in 25 degree weather. They have their place so I will keep them, but I’m on Zappos again looking for a shoe I can wear all day.

Like the style, very good support. Noticed a crinkly sound if i raised my toes. After having them on several hours, sold on them until finding my socks were damp. My feet normally do not sweat at all, felt like my feet had been in a plastic bag. Returned for shoes that breathe.
