I loved these so much I bought two. You feel like a super hero and the zip pockets are perfect for those who tend to loose things easily. I realized though that with both pairs, the front pockets and upper thigh show pilling after about 5 months. With the second pair I was sure to be very careful with washing cold and air drying. If there was an extra protective layer here in the front they'd be just perfect.

Time and time again everything I've bought from OR performs as good as expected if not better. I've worn a pair of ferrosi pants for everything climbing 14ers in Colorado, hiking and backpacking the Brooks and Chugach ranges in Alaska. Even in Afghanistan these pants perform. There are more expensive brands out there but I choose OR for he price quality and customer service. Never have I had an issue with these pants. They're super light weight and breathable while remaining durable enough to wear climbing and I don't worry about them rubbing on the face and getting a hole like I have with other brands. I know a lot of people take issue with the shallowness of the two front pockets but I haven't had an issue. Even while wearing them out an about in Anchorage my iphone7plus stays put. OR has always been my brand of choice and will continue to do so.

Great pants for Hiking, camping and travelling. I'm 6'/3" , 180 lbs and the 34 waist fits great but in terms of length it may be too short. I believe the pant was designed to wear with boots and if so the pants are not too short. Overall great product by OR.

im a 5'11, 22 year old women and i found that these pants fit me better than the women's selection. there awesome for day hikes in any weather and very comfortable. the only thing is that i found the stitching to be a pour quality in spots. the butt pockets came with loose thread and unraveled in the first couple of wears. the front button is also a pour quality metal so it made a rash on my stomach after long hikes. but other than that i ordered 3 more pairs.

These pants are great! They have a good amount of stretch which makes them an ideal pant for hiking or climbing. They are also super comfortable for hanging out by the campfire after a long day in the mountains. The draw string on the bottom cuff allows you to turn them into capris if it gets hot. Unfortunately, I am a tall guy. Since these pants only come in a 32" inseam, they sit awkwardly high on my ankles. This is somewhat ok when climbing but still looks a little funny. For hiking or wearing around, they are way too high. I wish OR would make these pants in a tall! Also, the waist fits slightly large for a 32. this could be due to the stretch, and is easily mitigated by a belt or shoestring.

Good fit, very breathable material. Pretty thin, not suitable for cold weather.

I have recently tried hiking pants from Outdoor Research, Columbia, Arcteryx, and Mountain Hardware. All things considered, the Ferrosi pants were the best of the bunch.

Awesome, comfortable, look good, cool in hot weather. They're not heavyweight and with that comes their picking out in some heavy use. I wear mine hard and they have a couple holes and picked threads coming out but it is what it is. They're not heavyweight pants. Lastly, the "sage" color is pretty bright! Almost a pale pea green...not like what appears online.

Great pants for summer alpine outings (climbing, hiking, and backpacking). My only qualm is with the too big waist. I'm a 32" waist and these need a belt, especially after the first day of use without having been washed. An integrated webbing belt would be nice. A few loose stiches on the rear pocket stiches after two days of climbing but that is to be expected with such lightweight pants.

Wore a pair of Ferrosi pants this spring on an 880+ mile trek across southern Utah and northern Arizona. The pants held up to 59 days of continuous hiking, scrambling, river wading, wash walking, and thorny brush/bashing. Only a few rips from sharp limestone and snagging on juniper. They were comfortable in varied temps that ranged from 20 degrees F to the upper 90s. I was very impressed with their durability and versatility. Surprised that stuff in my leg pocket stayed secure, despite the vertical zipper. After this trip, this pair of pants still has plenty of miles left in them for summer and fall Cascades adventures. Only drawbacks: the drawcord cuff closures collect a lot of sand and don't really stay secure and after 10 days of continuous wear the fabric stretches to the point you want to have a built. Note: The men's pants are a better fit for women with strong legs who don't want skin tight pants and who aren't into the bows/drawstring bow on the women's version.

Living in the North West we at not used to extreme high heat. We had to travel to Yuma, AZ where temps were a good 40/50 degrees hotter than we had here at home and these are the only pant that did not stick to me like a wet napkin. that shielded the sun, allowed air flow and stayed dry. the only one I brought on the trip to hold up to the heat.

Love these pants for hiking and climbing! I'd run out of space to write everywhere they've been! I'm 5'9" and 200ish lbs. I wear a 36, fit is good, maybe a little loose in the waist. Previously wore a 34 but they were tighter in the thighs. Only thing I would change is more structure in certain areas (i.e. the waist to support a belt). A slightly more burly fabric in the waist, seat, knees and thighs perhaps. A dual denier build, similar to the newest Ferrosi hoody...Just a thought. I really should have a couple more pair of these! Love em, great pants OR!

I took these on an 18 day rafting trip through the Grand Canyon in February. Aside from the obvious benefits from how these pants accentuate my curves, they performed wonderfully. They are very comfortable to be wearing under a drysuit or for hiking up any of the many side canyons. One feature that I especially loved were the adjustable elastics at the ankles. These were essential while playing polish horseshoes to keep the pants above the calf, and prevent the intrusion of the ever/present sand. One feature that I believe could be improved is their drying ability. On days that I was foolish enough not to wear a drysuit, or just from walking though streams, they inevitably got wet. Afterwards, the drying time always took a little longer then I had hoped. My other pants are straight nylon and dry much faster. This material difference, however, is a trade off to how well the Ferrosis stretch and move with your body.

Love the idea of the pants, HATE the length. This company caters only to the 5ft 10in guy. PLEASE start making the "long" option more widely available on more products than just 2 or 3 items.

Super light, stylish tighter cut but still very comfortable. Good alone on warm winter days and great over tights for xc skiing (love the sneaky drawstring) to cut wind (partially) and shed snow. Dried very fast when ice climbing in wet conditions. Can't wait to use them in summer given how light they are. I've only had the pants a couple months so hard to speak to long term durability. They dealt with a crampon snag surprisingly well / just small holes and no tear. But they have started to pill a bit on the thigh so for that I gotta take off one star and unfortunately I will soon have to demote them from 'fancy' pant status.

Very comfortable and functional. For Texas weather they can be worn pretty much year round. They're so breathable I'll even wager I'll be wearing them in the summer. The only downside I've experienced so far is that they haven't stood up to my abuse as well as I had hoped. They frayed and became very fuzzy in high wear areas within a few weeks. Admittedly though, I was wearing them while performing construction in our climbing gym... probably the wrong choice of pants for that so I won't knock them too much. In cooler temps, I love that they easily fit over a layer of thermals and remain comfortable.

These pants are excellent for any warm/weather activity; the material is durable, stretchy, and soft. The fit is a bit off, I found / the waist is on the big side, and the lower legs could be tighter to prevent dragging or snagging (though there is a drawstring at the leg opening).

great fit and feel. happy with them and would get more. I would prefer one stash pocket in the back, rather than two zipper pockets. I'm 5"11 with muscular thighs / so I was hoping the pant to be less skin tight in the thighs.

Very stretchy material which makes the pants great for rock climbing, hiking, or just everyday pants! Very comfortable but form fitting. Packable and hold up well in most weather (light rain, snow, etc). Only complaint i have is the legs and groin area feel a bit too tight for my comfort. I wear these pants about once every three to four days and anytime i'm in the backcountry they are in my bag. So far they are holding up very well like most gear i buy from OR. Thanks for a great product Outdoor Research! LifesNextAdventures.com (Blog)
