I bought these to commute to work during unpredictable spring weather. They're great on their own in slightly chilly weather, under waterproof layers on rainy days, and they don't look too techy for stops along the way.

I looked high and low for good looking & fitting, comfortable, breathable, flexible hiking pants. I mean I did an exhaustive search - thankful I found these - the waist band is so soft - the details weren't overlooked. I showed these to my adventure loving, hiking backpacking enthusiast son in-law - he's a real techie & he loved them & is getting a pair! OR customer service was also very helpful - thanks Ryan A! I'm 5'8" & wear 32" waist with 30" inseam Ryan advised me to get the 32 short - perfect fit. OR is a great organization & makes great products!

These are my favourite pants. I've had 2 pair and I'm ordering a 3rd. They are versatile, work well for many different activities, and look decent. My review is based on the 2017-2018 versions, they've been updated for 2019. These are my go-to pants for everything. This morning I'm wearing them at work for my college lectures where I teach. They were great for the -5C spring bike commute, look good in front of the class (my college classes and my kayak classes) and will be great under a drysuit if I manage to get out for a paddle this afternoon, or if I stop for some yoga in the grass on the bike ride home from work. I wear them cross country skiing, bike commuting, trail running, kayaking, canoeing, camping, working in the yard, lounging around the house, and just about everything else. One of my pairs has a small tear where the pant leg got caught in the bike chain, but other than that both pair are in great condition after 1-2 years of use and that tear hasn't frayed or spread despite me doing nothing to it.. The "fatigue" colour can pass for a decent pair of casual pants making me look semi-professional at work. The other blue pants that I have are a little too blue for me to wear at work but they are fine for just about everything else. The stretch in the pants means they are great for a variety of activities. The weave is tight enough that although determined mosquitoes can bite through, it's a serious deterrent. I don't often cinch up the ankles, but it helps keep the cuffs in check while cycling or running, and keeps the ticks and mosquitoes out of my pant legs. My only minor complaints is that the pockets could be deeper. Perhaps that's been updated for 2019? I'm 205 lbs, 6'2" and the 36" waist size fits perfect with a belt.

These are great pants. Can be worn for nearly anything. I wore them Sport climbing and they seemed incredibly durable. The stretch fit makes for great movement. Then I wore them to church the next day. What can't these pants do?

I bought this pair of pants from a store credit that I had and took a chance because of the past reviews online were very positive. I love these pants. They are very comfortable and light. I especially like pants in the colour pewter.

The ferossi pants are my favorites! I have the regular ferrosi, the convertible and the crag pants and they're all phenomenal! The material is super breathable, comfortable, stretchy and very abrasion resistant. They look good and weigh next to nothing. Their wind and water resistance make them an excellent choice for any condition. You just can't go wrong with these pants!

These, and the seemingly discontinued Ferrosi crag pants, are my favorite backcountry/alpine pants of all time. I use them extensively for climbing (rock and alpine), backpacking, hiking, peakbagging, scrambling, packrafting, and spring skiing.

A very technical pant with zippered pockets and unique pant-cuff closures to wrap around your boot/ankle. The fabric is very windproof and light but still feels warm in a cool breeze. Hand pockets are shallow but probably accommodate a climbing harness well.

FINALLY the Ferrosi pants in a LONG inseam! I've been waiting for these since I love my other Ferrosi products so much. I'm 6'4" 165 lbs and the 31 long fits me great. They protect you from the wind and cold while also being breathable enough so when the temps warm up you stay comfortable. Speaking of comfort... the stretch and soft feel make feel like I'm about to crawl in bed wearing pajamas! Love the pocket options and the great fit and sizing options. ONLY thing I'd personally like to see on these pants is a built in belt like on the Equinox shorts-- another fav from OR. Great pants!

I've been a Prana Brion (more casual looking version of the Stretch Zion) fan for a long time, but they are a hair too slim fit for me (6'3", 225#, a bicyclist with huge thighs). These might just be the death of them. They are a little looser but not baggy. They stretch just as well and are a more lightweight, better for hot weather. I only wish there was a version without the side pocket so I could wear them around the office

The Ferrosi pants are my go to pants for nearly everything except for when I need thicker pants for heavy-duty purposes (I.e.: construction, heavy equipment, etc). I use to use the Deadpoints for those heavy-duty days, but unfortunately OR doesn't make them (or anything like them) anymore. Anyway, these pants are phenomenal! The updates are well done, but I preferred the old version's Jean style pockets as my iPhone sticks out and falls out.

Since I received these pants I have worn them so much I'm worried I'm going to wear them out. They are lightweight, comfortable and work well as either casual office pants, or hiking pants. I really like the zippered pockets and the pants have plenty of stretch for climbing over obstacles while on the trail. I also love the elastic at the cuff. It allows me to keep the pants higher on my leg if I am crossing a stream or if I want to cool down on a hot day. I will definitely be buying more of these pants.

Let me start by stating I have the previous model - it appears they have changed the jeans-style hand-pockets and side pocket. Regardless, they look very similar and I am sure they function that way too. These are some of my favorite pants: they're magically durable for how thin they are; they fit extremely well and have stretch to them with articulations; they are comfy (I take them traveling, hiking, and even running - I have had no issues even on long-ish runs of 30 minutes); they're breathable and pretty darn durable; and they even look stylish - I have taken them out to the bar. These pants deserve more than 5 stars. The only things I'd say are cons are: rain has to be extremely light for the DWR to actually do anything, otherwise they will saturate with water; and, because they are so thin, they're not exactly a cold-weather piece (just put on OR's alpine long johns underneath). OR, can you also make these pants in a thicker, burly model? I would love to use them for aggressive tasks on rough terrain (I'm sure the Ferrosi pants would hold up, just not me when sliding and rolling around!).

These are amazingly comfortable and you can see the quality you pay for in the detailed stitching and seems. The only downside is that they seem to run a little big. I thought a smaller size might be too small but wish I had given it a try for the better fit.

Super comfortable and I love to work in these when needed and chill in them, along with a pair of flip flops, as much as possible.

I use these pants for hiking, camping, alpine climbing, rock climbing on cold days. This is my second pair. I've had the original pair of Ferrosi Pants for about 3 years and love them; they still look like new but the elasticity in the waist has worn out so I need a belt to hold them up now. The material is lightweight, breathable, packs small, the draw cord ankle allows me to use them like gaiters by cinching them over boots to keep debris out. On days I cinch them and pull the cuffs up to my knees to make capris or shorts. These are my favourite outdoor adventure pants.

I've had these pants for a few weeks now and they've quickly become my go/to pants for everything active. I've been winter jogging, cross/country skiing, snowshowing, winter cycling, yoga/ing, and generally hanging out in these pants. It's winter so my testing so far has been winter/activity oriented. They fit well over long undies, and under a shell pant. Very stretchy. Thick enough to not feel delicate. Good pocket placement and I like the side zip pocket for keys and such. Big deep pockets that fit my big phone well, and don't lose change when napping on the couch. They will be great camping and paddling come summer time.

I love these pants. They are so comfortable and stretchy. I would buy more if OR (I hope you are listening) would make a long version. I am 6'1" and have a 31 inch waste. I bought a 32 inseam and they are a little loose in the waste (expected) but they are about an inch too short in the legs. I won't take a star away for this as it is due to my awkwardly long body and not the quality of the pants. I see in the size and fit guide that there should/might be a long version of these pants made, but I can't find them or I would buy six more pairs. I kept these pants even though they are an inch too short and allow debris into my hiking shoes when I walk through brush because I love them so much. They are light, comfortable, breath well and stretch to accommodate a wide range of movements. These are great quality pants that breath well in hot climate. I am not sure how warm they are but they definitely allow your lower half to breath when you are working hard in a warm environment.
