I wanted these Challenger ATR5's to fit just like the ATR3's. But, unfortunately, the side of the shoe came up too high and hit my ankle bone, so sadly returning these.

Loved the shoe but had to return for a smaller size than I always buy

I tried the Speedgoat 3 and didn't like them at all. These are much more comfortable, although they are a half size too big. I normally wear a size 10 in athletic shoes and I'm exchanging these for a 9.5. I'll update after the 9.5's arrive.

After trying 5+ different pairs of 'trail running' shoes (thank you Zappos!) to replace my heavier NF Hedgehog hiking shoes, these might be the ones. Light weight, fits my small size 5 feet that have bunions and a broken 2nd metatarsal. Comfortable on a maiden 3-4 mile moderate hike with mild elevation gain, good trail traction, and I can wear with my half-length orthotics. I really wanted a waterproof shoe, but the Challenger is much more comfortable than the Speedgoat WP (that already went back).

Recommended by my podiatrist post bunion surgery with plate placement and the stitching along the tongue of the shoe rubbed the plate causing pain. Cute shoes but unfortunately I had to return them

The heel slips a little and pulls all of my Balega socks down into the shoe. The forefoot is very stiff with little cushioning and hurts after a short period of time.

I wear a 8.5 in the Hoka Bondi 6 model so ordered the same for the Challenger ATR5. The Challenger ATR5 definitely runs at least a half size smaller than the Bondi

Was looking for something with cushion yet good support and arch support...due to plantar fasciitis. These felt stable, yet I still required a powerstep insole for the arch support I need. I am usually a 7 in regular shoe....tried the 8 in this...would need to size up.

They feel odd almost like walking on a rounded surface. Too much squish in the footbed and sole. So much softness that feel like they lack support. I work as an RN. 12.5 hour shifts with most of the time on my feet either walking or standing. My feet hurt and with these shoes my hips and back hurt. I was hoping they would add cushioning for my feet. Not so lucky. My feet still hurt and they made my hips and low back pain. Pain to the degree of limping. I love the color of these shoes. Wish they were more comfortable. So, one more brand that doesn't work for me and my search continues.

Sorry......Really wanted this shoe to fit right! Nice cushioning. Insole felt tight along the side. Not enough support. It seemed to pull me in to pronate. Not enough stability for me. Unfortunately I am sending them back.

Love these shoes, fit is excellent, wide enough for my wide feet. Well-made and held up well for over a year.
