These came highly recommended but they made my feet and legs ache! I wanted to like them but, they just aren't cushioned enough for me.

I have bought Hoka One One shoes for about 9 years now. I have never had a problem with the ergonomic design before. I've had some that were better cushioned than others. Some that were better looking than others. However, these Challengers were the first to rub into my ankle and make them unbearable to wear (bought them for work in which I work 12 hour shifts standing). Maybe it was a fluke shoe, but I just can't wear it, and yet I work too many hours to have the energy or time to return them, so I will just lick my wounds and call it a loss.

Do not like the shoe- too wide, not enough arch support and want to return them. I usually wear Clifton 7 and the shoes I just purchased not as comfortable. I would not recommend them.

Tried these shoes out for 4 runs. First run gave me huge blisters and hurt the cushiony part where my foot and toes meet. I wiated for my blisters to heal and tried again on different terrain and no blisters but same pain. I couldn't wait to take them off. They also run big. I had to down size and they still feel a little big but next size would be too small.

I heard these shoes were the most comfortable shoes ever. To me they were not any better then a cheaper pair.

Wish they had more cushion and width, especially since I'm recovering from an injury. I would have returned them if I still had the box. Live and learn.

I tried them out because everyone raved about the comfort. I am a nurse and on my feet for 12+ hours with awful ankle issues. These were ok for a couple weeks then suddenly my heels were on fire and my ankles were worse.

After one month of wearing the shoes, they still have not softened up and remain very uncomfortable. The sides dig into my ankles.

The shoe is attractive. Love the color choices. The shoe itself is extraordinarily large. My size 10 looks like a men’s size 12.

Felt great the first week. Ever since then, I have had pain in my foot and can hardly walk after taking them off

I've been wearing Challenger ATR for years and love them. The new ATR's have a different insole from former Challengers that is so thin that it provides no comfort and the composition causes my feet to burn terribly. I have to buy different insoles in order to wear them. Why would Hoka cheapen the one piece that actually cushions your foot? I am extremely disappointed! I've converted many people over to Hokas over the years, but I won't be recommending them anymore.

So bummed.... so many people have told me these shoes were the best for plantar fasciitis. They were horrible. Just walking around my house made the pain worse.

Can't wear most socks in recent online purchase. "regular' size is too narrow. A different pair that I bought at Universal Athletics that they had to ship from Helena to Bozeman felt right with usual socks.. You offer a pittance of choices in wide shoes with nice colors. Who wants crossed toes and bunions later in life. And that's what young people will get with your shoes.

My feet are average width, not narrow, not wide. There is too much volume in the front of these shoes. The width is ok, but there is so much space above and around my feet that can't be cinched in by lacing tightly. If I tighten the laces as much as possible, the shoes pucker and are still too loose. The half size smaller has the same issues, it's just shorter.

I returned the Stinson ATR 5 because they were quite painful. I wear orthotics for high arches, plantar fasciitis and Morton's Neuroma, and im a city mail carrier with the USPS with a 12 mile walking route. So, comfort is huge. I wore them in the house this morning, and to the office. I didn't bother to wear them on my mail route. The arches don't match up with mine, and it feels like im walking down in the heel. I am super disappointed in Hoka. It seems like every great pair of sneakers they have get changed to something not great. Sad to say, but after wearing them for 4 years This will be my last experience with them. .

I absolutely love my Hokas from a comfort and ride perspective, but they can't seem to handle the wear and tear from the trails they are designed to run on. The mesh on these ripped over a moderate 4 mile train run yesterday in Colorado, and I have only owned them for about 2 months.

Bottom of the shoe is coming apart already- I've never had this issue before. The outer sole is coming apart!

Found the ride to be uncomfortably stiff. Typically I expect a little more give from my Hokas... was bummed to not get more use out of these.

I have owned various Hoka's, they are my go to every day athletic shoe. This shoe was different. My foot felt a bit cramped and I felt a couple of lumps around the lace holes. There is no way that I could have worn them without significant discomfort. I will try a different style.

So, the designs on Hoka can't be beat; they're absolutely stellar. That being said, this shoe I tried to make work in every way and it just wasn't happening. I'm 5'8, female, a runner and an ironman triathlete, running both trails and road. I didn't have to get very far to realize that this shoe is very, very stiff for running and the cushion just isn't there. My go-to shoe is usually the Brooks Glycerin 17. With the Hoka, it felt like I was lugging along bricks on the feet with every step and it didn't give me that 'bounce-back' energy that I get with my other shoes. With every landing, it felt like the energy was being absorbed into the ground instead of propelling me forward. The sizing was right, the width was more than other shoes but it was nice, the design of black, yellow, and blue was amazing, but the shoe is too inflexible.

Got it to go on trails ...and while it's light the shoes are not so comfortable. Have tried to loosen ties too. Not sure why so uncomfortable. My husband just got some as well and feels the same issues with his Hoka's.

Deeply disappointed with these shoes for the price! Had such great expectations after my last pair and decided to order these because they matched my work uniforms but they don't have the cushion and they actually hurt my knees to walk in them! I am deeply saddened to have to send them back!

I never knew that I could have a complaint about a shoe other than them just not fitting right. But these are something else. I've been rolling my ankles much more than I ever have before because they feel like running in high heels, and when I'm dodging roots or leaping off rocks, thats the last thing I want. I was sooo looking forward to these because I struggle with knee pain and plantar fasciitis, but it's not worth it! The only reason I give them 2 stars is because they feel good on concrete, despite being advertised as a trail shoe.
