Even though I bought "my size" as I have done with other brands (that have fit just fine) these feel very tight, even with the laces relaxed as much as possible. All shoes stretch a bit so I'm hoping I will "grow into them!"

The other 4 pairs of Hoka shoes I had worn out had cushioned soles and never rubbed the back of my heel. These had very gard soles and rubbed my upper heel almost raw. I wasn't aware until these that Hoka sold uncomfortable shoes.

The Gaviota 3 lacing is cumbersome and leaves no room for the stretching of the inner layer of the two layers. Go back to the simplet Gaviota 2 lacing. The shoe is too wide over the mid-foot, NOT at the toe box, so had to order a B width, whereas I have only ever used Wide shoes before.

The size is correct but it feels like the shoe will come off my foot. There's no room to add an arch support insole, which is the whole reason I bought these-for my high arches. There's certainly no arch support in the shoe itself. I don't know who this was made for. And since I bought it on sale (still well over $100) there's no free return. Something they don't make clear when purchasing, at all. Very disappointing.

Though the wide width fit well, while walking the stability control was too much! I felt forced to walk in a certain way, then my knees would start to ache. These shoes were an expensive mistake!

The have a squeak every time i walk in one shoe. I tried to get them exchanged and was told they didn't have anymore so i could pay more to get different pair or take them back all together.

This is my 5 pair of Hokas, 2nd pair of Gaviotas. I think I got a defective right shoe, without fail, the right "J" hook seam protrudes after 3miles. An hour of cross training or quick 2miles, no problem, but more than 3 & it feels like there is a thick seam under the outer ball of my right foot. I'm a fore-foot runner, so perhaps heel strikers would not notice, however, my last blue gaviota 2 did not have this issue, so I can only assume I got a factory defect.

I am fairly new to Hoka. My first pair were the Arahi 4's and I love them. I pronate and need a stability shoe. I have put 500'ish miles on the Arahi's and I am steadily increasing my mileage, pace and time on feet. Because of this and after reading reviews, I thought the Gaviota 2's would be a logical step for my longer runs, but after one long run my right knee began to hurt. I am not saying the Gaviota or a bad shoe at all, but you have to weary of how much stability correction you need. I gave it another week on the treadmill and it got worse. I went back to the Arahi's and there was an immediate and steady improvement. The Gaviota maybe has to much stability correction for me and now I am stuck with an expensive pair of shoes I cannot use.

Padding was good, but the shoe is so stiff and the top of the shoe was hurting my foot on the side of my feet. My ankles were also hurting,I used it twice to go to work, and I was in so much pain, worth noting that I have foot fasciitis. Very narrow shoe by the way and I have the skinniest feet I have ever seen so that should tell you they're very narrow.

The Gaviota 2 shoe works well, but these colors, seriously? Try again! The other issue is their VERY LIMITED stock. Very hard to get my size, 9.5 US. I have been on back order for 4 months. Again, seriously? Come on HOKA.

I used these shoes for running and they are not as easy on my feet as the Bondi6. I find that my feet are aching by the time I finish my run.

I don't have particularly wide feet, but do have some foot issues. Bought because I wanted a shoe with a wide toe box for a bunion and a firm sole for a turf toe injury. Worked for both of those. But squeezed the right mid foot and was extremely painful. Had to return.

I'm a middle distance runner with distances between 3-12 miles a run, often running 6-8 miles during a run either on the treadmill or road, 4-5x a week. I've been wearing various HokaOneOne styles since approximately 2013. Earlier versions had a nice toe box in "regular" sizing. Stinson and earlier Bondi models had a "wider" toe box in regular sizing and so much cushion, which were perfect and solidified my commitment to the brand. Sadly, the toe boxes in the newer models and styles seem to get narrower and I am now needing a "wide" for similar comfort. These shoes, even in wide, are causing my middle toes to feel numb after the first mile or so. I've tried several lacing options, with minimal success. After the first mile, the paddling under the ball of my foot feels lumpy. Also the shoe laces are incredibly long and I am tucking them into the side of my shoes so as to not trip on them, which is also less comfortable. Having purchased two pairs (one for indoors and outdoors) for over $300, I'm keeping them since I've worn them, but I definitely do not love them. Honestly, I'm heartbroken.

Bought this exact shoe men's gaviotta 2 size 9.5 wide 9 months ago. Love them. Perfect. Wanted a second pair and ordered the exact shoe and much more narrow and could not get on left foot without discomfort. Sent back. They were either mislabeled or Hoka has changed the design. I will look at shoes in brick and mortar store when Covid calms down
