I run about 20-25 miles a week and really wanted to love this shoe. I ordered a 8.5 wide and initially the length and width felt great. But after my 4th run in them, my toes started to go numb around mile 3. Everything else was super comfy, but even bypassing the first loops for lacing, it didn't help. I tried to loosen the laces but the shoe moves around too much. I had to return. Not sure if I should try the other stability brands Hoka offers...but definitely disappointed.

I had to buy 1/2 size smaller than usual since the model I wanted wasn't available in my size. Not the same experience.

I am an RN. After 18 months of 12-hour shifts, my 2 pairs of Gaviota 1 are at the end of their rope. I used them exclusively for work. Very nice support, the toe box was very comfortable. After I got the Gaviota 2s, it was evident that they are narrower, especially the toe box. My big toes are sore after a few hours. This never happened with the Gaviota 1s. I hope this will improve with time. And the materials feel cheaper, "more plastic". Still a decent shoe but I liked the older model a lot more.

I have a very narrow foot, but these were too narrow in the toe box.

Putting this shoe on felt so great at first but after a short time my feet started to ache. Also, walking in them sort of felt like having my feet in cement shoes. They felt very heavy and like my feet were sliding around inside of them. Maybe they are just a little too big, I couldn't really figure it out. I returned them and got them Hupana Ems which seemed a bit better and almost half the price.

The length of the shoe fits well, however the width of shoe fits narrow. I have pain on the outside of both feet. It will probably be an excellent shoe for others just not for me. It is worth buying and at least trying it out.

Seems like a good shoe, very comfortable & definitely keeps my foot from over pronating, but they are soooo wide and my feet are so small so they look like clown shoes. I would probably keep them if the sole on the black shoes wasn't bright blue calling even more attention to my artificially big feet. So, back they go. Oh well, good for someone who is not concerned with big footitis.

I've worn the same size six (6) in all other brands for over twenty (20) years, but these felt to narrow.

I liked the stability of the shoe, but not the style or color combination (blue, white, and pink). But the real reason for deciding to return the shoe is that my heel slipped enough to cause my ankle to hurt.

They were awesome at first but they wear out really fast. Especially when you pay a lot of money for them!

Stability shoe is very good, comfortable. The inside support wears out to quickly. Only last 3 months. For the price they should last longer.

Ok!! But the front of my feet started to go numb? I put them on and stood for a few minutes and I felt my toes going numb, so I thought that was strange? I walked around the house and it got worse! Needless to say I am returning, no more Hokas for me! Back to New Balance.

I love the product and have had multiple sneakers but the cloth pull away and tearing away a circle in the heel area is getting worse in worse. It took 6 mos and then they were ruined, then another was 3 mos, and this time was LESS THAN 1 month!

I am a big Gaviota 1 fan and I feel like they made the Gaviota 2s "cheap". I have a fallen arch so I need the stable feel that is comfortable because I am on my feet all day. The 2's are more mesh like and feels like my foot slides around a lot more. They have less plastic than the 1's. Don't get me wrong I am ok with the 2's but I will miss my 1's.....

Fit and size felt perfect but I purchased this shoe to support mostly my foot post bunion surgery. My foot is two months post recovery and when I walk I get metatarsal pain. These shoes did not help with the pain because the front of the sole was not thick enough for me.

I've been running for two decades. I started with Saucony Hurricanes. Then Saicony changed the fit and dropped the heel so I switched to Gaviota 1's about the time they first came out. I buy a new pair every six months and was always happy with the way they performed, especially in the cushioning, the perfect heel drop and the wide toe box. I just got my first pair of Gaviota 2's and immediately noticed a difference in the fit. There seems to be less cushioning, the shoe is significantly narrower and, although the spec didn't change, the heel seems to stile lower. After running several miles I had to stop because I started to get pain in various places that I had experience previously when the shows I was running in were wearing out. I'm sorry to say that I will now have to start a new search for a running shoe. I am keeping the Gaviota 2's since they are fine for walking, which I do a lot of. I must say that as far as their design, the new model is a big improvement over the originals that looked like they came out of a bad Spider-Man movie.

I work 12 hour shifts, so I'm on my feet a lot. Was really looking for something comparable to Brooks Beast. These are really comfortable while walking, but not so much for just standing.

I bought the Arahi3 2 weeks before I got the Gaviota2. Things that I like with the Arahi3 is that it's light, fits perfect, and It makes me enjoy running. Gaviota has more support but feels tight and heavy. Loved the Arahi3 that I exchanged the Gaviota2 with a second Arahi3. Maybe my next purchase will probably be the Speed-goat. Thanks for making shoes that makes me enjoy running.

After running in the Gaviota, version 2 seems narrower and less cushioned. I am satisfied with the limitations in great toe movement, which is the reason that I run in this model.
