Had the opportunity to get into some Brooks Glycerin 17 and admittedly, I have never been in a more cushioned shoe. Very comfortable. I soon began to sense my left foot in the shoe feel like it was slipping as I stepped. As if a cushion of air was trapped underneath and the shoe felt like it was sliding forwards after contacting pavement. The feeling of walking on a wet, waxed floor and one's foot slips precariously. Not a comforting feeling while crossing a busy street. Even mindful and conscious stepping, digging my heel in made no difference. Changing from one pavement surface to another like blacktop to concrete. I do see some reviews alluding to this.

This is my 5th pair of Brooks after switching from ASICS..
This particular pair is rubbing against my right foot big toe. Not pleasant to wear. Perhaps a defect in right sneaker

I liked the style, their light weight and price. However they were too snug with my orthodics and I don`t think a half size would have helped due to how narrow they were .

I really like Brooks and will try another in the future

I really miss the 15's. I don't like the material these are made of. Seem much narrower and less supportive than the 14's and 15's also.

These were fine at first, but didn't hold up very well. They didn't keep their shape at all, and I noticed this less than three months into wearing them. Tread broke down pretty quickly. I wasn't even running hard in these, just wearing them all day at a job where I'm mostly on my feet. If this is what I can expect from Brooks, I won't buy another pair.

I have exclusive used Brooks Glycerin since 2009. (Probably had more than 25 pair) G17 was a disappointment for me. I'm now searching outlets online for G15 or G16.
The toe box G17 feels tighter than on the previous models and the top feels too soft and mushy.

Returned them. Didnt like them. Felt very unstable. Felt like my ankles and foot were tilting to the outside. Poor stability. Good cushioning. Switched to New Balance 990. Great return policy.

The sole on the Glycerin's has been the main reason i've used this model for the past 5 years. However, the sole on the 17 either wasn't as thick and cushioned as previous years or it wore out already.
About 4 weeks into these new shoes, running about 25-30 miles a week, my feet started hurting. I went back to my previous Glycerin shoes and after 3 more runs, my feet felt better. I came back to the 17's again and soon felt discomfort when and after running.
I'll look at other Brooks models in the future, even the Glycerins. I bought this pair online (I usually try and buy in store) so I won't do that for my next pair.

I have had Brooks running shoes for years starting with the Glycerin 13's. They have always been awesome! I didn't even need to try them on - just brought them ready to use. However, I recently bought a pair of the glycerin 17. Immediately I noticed the shoe laces are different. Not sure why the company changed them but they appear to be cheap. Next, I put the shoes on again, immediately I noticed a change in the feel of the shoe on my foot. After wearing for a short period of time the ball of my foot felt numb and the usual comfort was not there. It feels like the toe of the shoe has been constructed differently. Sadly I returned the shoes. I hate that the company felt like they had to make changes to a GREAT pair of running shoes. Looks like I will be forced to trying new brands. Brooks lost my customer support as well as my wife's and several friends we referred to Brooks year ago. Please, go back to the old way!!

Was a good comfortable shoe, but expected it to last longer. The sole tread wore away much faster than any other Brooks shoe I have worn before.

I loved the Glycerin 16. The 17 is narrow at the toe and uncomfortable

Way back in the day I had a pair of Glycerin 11 shoes and they were amazing! I have since worn the Glycerin 16's and noticed the mid foot to heel section is narrow. The Glycerin 17's are even worse! There is an unusual hot spot on the back outside heel that makes my feet very uncomfortable. It's very noticeable and it didn't take long to notice this new version is narrower than the Glycerin 16's. The whole shoe feel narrower from the heel to the toe but especially in the heel area. Too bad! I love the idea of the nightlife but it's just not worth the pain to wear these shoes.

I like to run on the road. My typical distance is about 6 miles. My feet hurt during and after the run with these shoes. This is my second pair of Brooks shoes. The Adrenalines that I had were far superior. I feel like I wasted a lot of money not the Glylerins.

Shoes were highly recommended by a running store.....worst running shoe I have had in ten years....hurt the ball of my left foot in less than 6 miles....minimum cushion and fairly heavy......will wear them with jeans and switch back to my previous brand for running

Pros-unbelievably comfortable, like running on a cloud. stylish and sharp. Perfect fit out of the box.
Cons-Purchased new/ONLY wore the shoes 2x. Ran a total of 10 miles. Soles (per photo) are already wearing down. After only 10 miles???
I am a huge Brooks fan. Have run with the Adrenaline, multiple Glycerin and multiple Elevate. Never had a Brooks shoe start to fail after only 2 runs......

Not as comfy as my favorite glycerin 16. A narrower toebox, not as much support.

I have been running in Brooks Glycerin since model 15. I have also previously purchased model 16. Model 17 is 'flat' i.e. less padding/cushioning than my first pair of Glycerin 15. I am very disappointed as I used to rave about their quality and comfort
The shoe looks nice but that is where it ends. It's like they have moved away from it being a running shoe to being one of comfort for walking.

I?ve worn brooks shoes for the past 8-10 years. Being in the military running shoes are very important. The change brooks made with the cushion has made these shoes unbearable. They are to soft and don?t feel anything like brooks. I?ll never buy another pair again.

Sorry it was much too small especially for the hammertoe problem. We are in the process of sending it back.
