Feels sightly smaller width wise than a 4E. Still comfortable and a very light shoe.

A nice-looking, lightweight shoe. I'm not super-fond of the white sides of the sole, wish they matched the upper, or were black. I can see that these will get dirty-looking very quickly. Like the other foam shoes by NB, they are super-soft. These felt a bit narrower at the heel, but the size 15 fit me well.

Like other reviews, I don’t like the unpadded heel. However, overall I do like the shoe for walking and casual wear. I’ve had them 30 days now and they are very comfortable and I have gotten used to the heel.

the shoes are very comfortable, they are so light that feels like wearing nothing. They are W wide, a perfect fit for me. I would recommend these shoes.

Comfy and I like the simple style. Only complaint I have is that I've had them for around six months and the plastic molding in the heel area has cracked (I can feel that it has come apart through the fabric covering it). Doesn't really negatively impact it day-to-day, but could be of higher quality.

I wear these to work as we are pretty casual. They look good and are very comfortable. I do not like them for running. I run in Brooks Ghosts and these are much firmer.

Very comfortable and light. I usually wear an 8.5EE but they did not have EE width so I got a 9E. Still a little narrow but I think it will be OK. Hope they get EE widths in the future.

Prior to trying the 1080v9, I had been wearing the 1080v8, which I really liked. However, the 1080v9, in my opinion, did not have the same amount of padding in the heel area that the prior version did. I need the padding to be generous, and the newest version of the 1080 did not suit me. I had to return it, and I would up purchasing the New Balance 990v5, which had generous padding in the heal area.

I had ordered two pair of these, red & gray. same size that I always order in the 1080's. but the wide is not the same as the wide in the 1080v8. what have you done to the width, new balance.

Excellent Cushioning. I wear them all day at work. I am a physical therapist / strength coach. 6'1" 230 lbs. Really help keep back and legs feeling good. Watching for a price drop to get more.

Very nice shoe, but runs a little small in both width (even the 4E) and length.

I have wide feet and have had trouble with my ankles and knees when I run, walk, workout and stand on concrete for long periods of time. New Balance has always offered 4E shoes which have worked for me. So I researched cushioned shoes based on my podiatrists recommendation. Lots of option but very few that have neutral support, have room for an orthotics for a 6'2" 270 pound 66 year old man. I ordered my normal shoe length (11) in the 4E. The shoe was shorter than the older versions. Sent it back and ordered an 11 1/2 4E. It meets all the criteria I was looking for in this shoe. Great comfort in the cushioning, adequate space for orthotic, great toe box. So far I have put 20 miles on walking, have walked a market place for 4 hours and worked a treadmill and an stationary bike for 8 miles. Legs have had good recovery, no ankle or knee aches.

Could use more puff like Kuno or ASICS

I was really excited to buy these shoes. I bought a pair a couple of years back that I really liked. Unfortunately these are not as comfortable as I expected them to be. After a one hour walk my feet hurt. I like the style and the fit is great, but not enough cushion.

Love these shoes. Foot bed provides a lot of stability. The downside is that after just 3 months, the top eyelets have torn out . Sadly, these will become expensive lawn mowing shoes.

Overall a comfortable shoe, but the bright white bottom cushion is gigantic! It makes the shoe look funny. I have a 1080 v6 and it has a more streamlined look.

Toe box much smaller than previous version. No padding whatsoever around the heel.

Perfect except for an absolutely horrible, completely uncushioned, super uncomfortable heel pocket. The back of the shoe has literally zero cushion and feels like it's made of what? Wood? Hard plastic? Which is a real shame, because the rest of this shoe is truly great. But, I anticipate blisters and probably some bruising, and that's just not going to work. The 1080v10 looks like it's one of those unsupportive woven deals, too. Very disappointing, New Balance.

Why did New Balance have to change their Fresh Foam 1080 heel style??? I know they're probably trying to keep up with the coolness factor of some others brands, but I would prefer comfort over style. The 1080v9 heel is hard and uncomfortable. It feels weird and rubs. It makes me miss the 1080v7 style.

Heel way too uncomfortable.

I wear a size 12 4E. I love the Fresh Foam cushioning. Like the story of the 3 bears, that one is too hard, too soft, these are jjjuussstt right. Personally, I like these shoes, but had to return them due not being wide enough in the area where the toes connect to the feet...toe knuckles, lol. If not for that I'd be wearing them now and completely satisfied. Everyone's feet are a bit different, so don't let me scare you off from at least trying on a pair.

Great looking shoe! However, I haven't worn any New Balance in a long while. Normally when you put on NB, its like sticking your foot in a tub of butter. These were not that. Sharp arch support, and just generally uncomfortable. 1st NB shoe Ive not liked. Bummer

Disappointed in this shoe. Not worth the price I paid. Not very cushioned. 4E but toes still touch the inside of shoe. Waste of money. Shoes look good though.
