The best trapper hat ever!!! Stylish and functional. Warm, furry lining. Waterproof, windproof outer. Columbia could not have made a better product.

I saw this hat at work, and immediately fell in love with it. After trying it on, I knew I had to buy it. (Disclosure: I live in the mid-west.) Fast forward a few weeks later (early October), and I now own it. Now I just have to wait until it gets cold. Thanksgiving Night - I had to work 5p-2a. Perfect. It's cold out, and it will be cold when I leave, so let me wear my hat. Wrong! It was too warm. 11-26 - We get quite a few inches of snow. I have to go out and shovel the driveway so I can go to work. I mistakenly wear this hat while shoveling. My head is drenched in sweat. 11/28 - Leave for work at 4am to unload our truck. It is 14 outside. Even better! I put grab my hat. It's still too warm! Bottom line, this hat has exceeded all expectations - performance, fit, style, etc. If you live where it gets really cold, and for longer than 4 months out of the year, you will not be disappointed with this purchase. I am now in the process of planning a move to Alaska, just so I can wear this hat more often. If it's too warm for there, I give up. Bonus Review: If you like to listen to music or podcasts in your vehicle in the winter while wearing this hat, put the earflaps up! Otherwise your audio will sound like an early 80's demo recorded in someone's basement.

This is a very warm and cozy hat. It's a bit of a tight fit at first but I think it will mold up. I was on the high end of the S/M sizing but didn't want to get a hat sized too big. There is a nice strap that can hold the ear flaps up or undone the fuzzy flaps can go down to cover the ears when it's really cold out.

This hat is great, I've used it while ice fishing on Zipple Bay in Baudette, MN. It kept my head cozy in the low teens. The faux fur is nice, it's only on the flaps and didn't shed onto my beard. I suggest they add a layer of omniheat on the inside to make it a true sub zero piece of gear.

Great hat! Only complaint is over the strap to lift up the sides doesn't stay quite in place sometimes.

This is going to go to my 6 year old grandson. L/XL is very small.

Love this hat, seems to run slightly small. Great quality though, and I love the color. I bought the XL for my Dad, but worried it might be just a tad too small... we shall see on that! Overall, I do recommend but be aware that if your head is large this may be smaller than you expect. Would be great if Columbia would make their hats more generously sized like they used to!

Cute, super soft in white for a teen for this coming winter. This is a "fashion" hat it seems but also seems very warm. Very very soft fabric.

Awesome hat, very warm will be great for plowing the driveway.

Average material and not a big fan of the chin strap

I bought this hat for my teenage son and he loves the hat and says it is warm!! The only problem is sometimes the fur comes off and into his mouth. It's not a big problem though.

This hat isn't my usual style but it is warm. As other reviewers have mentioned, it runs pretty small. I have a smallish head and the L/XL size in this hat fits me well.

Overall, the hat is very warm, but it's small. I got the large, and I still don't feel like it fits all the way. The covering for the ears is great which was a big draw for me. I wish it was bigger and longer in the back though.

I bought this hat for an upcoming trip to Churchill,Canada,so I haven't really had a chance to try it out but it's comfortable and fits well. Looks good too!

the snaps fit under chin & on top very well the fur on the ears is nice the whole interior other than the ear flaps is a gray fleece liner (no 'fur') it is a slightly different color than the outer fabric, but i dont know that it would change my opinion if it were exact. When wearing the hat naturally, the grey fleece liner shows very clearly on my forehead before the straight line where the fur starts. Thats why i knocked stars off the quality. (I can momentarily tuck it to make it look as expected, i.e. family photo in the cold, but it wont stay that way) The flap is stitched securely (tacked securely) in two spots, not at the edge. This is irrelevant to whats on the market (I've looked) but just a concept: I think it would be cool if it could be flipped out like a ball cap for sunny times and up to look nice in evenings. Most may not be willing to have it look that way I admit but I'm partial to practicality when it comes to keeping sun out of my eyes. The short fur model definately wont be able to blow in my eyes, tho it couldnt even if was sewn as a rim inside the interior, or in the forehead. It is possible this helps fit, tho it detracts from the look. I got it as this color is phased out, so I think it was very much worth what i paid for it. for the full list price I would feel cheated not having the fur look like it goes to my brow. otherwise its all good. this was my second choice in what i wanted, but i really cant justify the ritzy quality and price tag of the other for the mild winters in my area. I measure 7 1/2", and its slightly snugger than I'd like. If you are an XL in most brands If the other colors arent bigger this might not work for you. I think columbia hats run a little smaller than their size chart routinely. I usually fit their L/XL models only. I thought about ordering two to hope for variance but I think others who remarked on size had the long fur versions, so thinking fur was inside (i might not have read every detail) I hoped that made it smaller. I knew i ought have, but i'm trying to minimize extra things to do like a trip to the mall where i know i would really want to browse the whole store before I leave even though womens offerings got notably slimmer. :/ I like the hat, i'm 99% sure i will keep, it totally beats the ones i looked at the big red broad retail store for the past two years in softness and fur not in eyes or something that made me not buy any while actively seeking one.

My boyfriend love the hat. I bought a L/XL for him. The hat is warm, well made, comfy but...... runs small.

I purchased this hat in Navy blue to replace a 25 year old no-name brand rabbit fur one, in the same style. Wish I had ordered one in the shorter faux fur, as this one is irritatingly in your face. I decided to break out the scissors and give it a trim, as I live in a cold climate where winters can be long. I need to be able to see clearly when walking my two dogs. Other than that design material annoyance, the hat is warm and snow/water resistant.

The hat was a little snug at first but it did stretch. Kept my head warm.

The trapper hat could of been just a little bigger as it has a lining in it! Other then that it's a quality item ! The picture doesn't do it justice !
