I like them but the sole seems extra squishy to me. When i take a step i feel my foot sink into the shoe when my heel strikes the ground, causing a sensation of friction around the heel as the foot sinks in to the squishy sole. I don't recall ever noticing this sensation in any other shoe. Otherwise they look great are very comfortable. If i tighten the laces perhaps the sensation will be lessened.

I'm really happy with these shoes. I got the olive green color and they look great. They''re in between casual and dressy -- great with jeans. But best of all, they are lightweight (but still sturdy) and comfortable. I love the way Merrell shoes fit and feel.

I actually own a pair of Barkley Captures, but can't seem to leave a review there. I have achilles issues from years or wearing the wrong urban sneakers (Converse!). The Barkley Captures not only have a nice urban style (perfect for work, social & urban sport) & has pretty much reduced my Achilles issues by 60%. After wearing these 24/7 for 6 months I'm now back to trail running (Agility Peaks) and it's going well! I sincerely hope the Barkley Captures aren't being discontinued. I have found my shoes for life and it would be such a pitty if they are discontinued now. Either way, I'm going track these down and stock-up. Amazing build quality, heathy feet, comfortable and light as a feather. My only con is that due to the light materials the soles wear a bit quick, but hey Chuch Taylors last long, but your tendons won't.

I love these Barkley shoes. They are great-looking in a kind of scruffy offbeat way, and are really really comfortable, in part because they are amazingly lightweight.

I've found my shoe. Bought these for the first time 2 years ago to wear them casually, but they are just too comfortable and stylish, so now I wear them everyday to work. Got a second color just to mix it up. I could walk 10 miles in these and my feet would feel great. Good support, perfectly sized, durable soul, and uppers. Please don't ever start making this model.

My favorite shoes.

This is my second pair of Barkleys. These are the most comfortable shoes I own. I like the all black color combination. Hopefully Merrell will still be making them when I need another pair.

These are perfect for business casuals/semi formal clothes to work. I like to take brisk walks during work hours just to refresh my mind and these shoes work very well for me. I'm never disappointed with Merrell!

Have over 15 pairs of Merrill shoes. Both hiking and casual. Merrill finally came up with another good casual shoe that I like. Purchased 3 pair. Fit and comfort are exceptional. Lightweight and I will be taking them as primary shoes on vacation. Good job Merrell

Light and comfortable, fits well ,wears all day well I have 3 pair in 3 colors

These are men's shoes but I loved the look and bought them, albeit a size and a half smaller as a conversion factor. They're comfortable, a good quality leather, and I got tons of compliments the first time I wore them out and about. Merrells never disappoint!

these break in nicely but it does take a little breaking in. nothing crazy though. surprisingly good arch support too. I bought them for something comfortable to fake out my bosses as a work shoe and so far so good. Now it's casual Friday and I'm wearing them anyway. I could be wearing anything today - cowboy boots, basketball sneakers, snow shoes ... but I choose these!
