Well worth the investment. We were out in the wind and 40 degree temps this weekend and I stayed warm. This coat goes above and beyond my expectations. Highly recommended.

Yes, I would buy the parka again. Very comfy and warm. The sleeves are a bit long but it doesn't bother me.

I live in a warm climate and use this parka when visiting my daughters who live in cold climates. It's perfect. The only downside is packing it. It takes up a lot of space even folded down. It's worth taking it though, because I know I'll be warm in the other side!

I have been looking for a longer, warm, sturdy coat to wear down to the barn. The Gortex fits this requirement. I feel I can finally retire my old parka of 23 years and replace it with this one. Wore it for the first time this morning in 22 degree temps and wind chill factor of 11 degrees. Did not feel the wind at all and was almost too warm walking back from the barn (approximately 1/2 block uphill). I ordered the large even though my old parka is a medium and felt it fit a little snug around the waist (with T-shirt and sweatshirt) until I unzipped the pockets then if felt great. Since I continually take my gloves off and on down in the barn, I would never zip the pockets up anyway. My old parka had an inside pocket which is where I keep my pocket knife for cutting the strings on the big bales we put out for the horses in the winter and was disappointed not to have that pocket, but then I found the little pocket on the left sleeve which is just the right size for my knife. As long as the front zipper holds up (the nylon zipper makes me a little nervous) I am a happy camper. The magnets are great as I always had a problem with the snaps on my old parka. I was going to remove the fur from the hood, but after walking up the hill against the wind this morning - I think I'll leave it on.

I love this jacket it's stylish but so warm. You sacrifice nothing in the jacket. I love the look but it's the only jacket I need now.

I live in West Michigan, where there is tremendous weather almost every day and this coat is perfect. Keeps me warm, fun little hand warmers built into the sleeves, stylish, light yet warm. BEST WINTER COAT

Love this jacket as I'm a commuter in Chicago and with our cold weather a norm here, this can take 10 degree weather and I would buy it again!

I bought this coat for coaching in the cold winter months, and I am SO glad I did! It's so warm, and I LOVE that's it is waterproof. The zippers on the side are perfect for car (and school bus) travel, so you don't feel claustrophobic in a heavy coat! Just unzip, and you feel all the roominess you need.

I love this coat. A co-worker wore it and I just had to have it. A different color but this coat is amazing and has beautiful features. It was a must have.

I bought this for my mom, who is a hardworking nurse and also cares for three mini-horses. She's five-foot-nothing and very petite, but also has a bosom. Size medium fit her perfectly and the navy color looks classy and timeless. Highly recommended. By the way, we live in Pennsylvania, where cold, windy weather is a given. She said it's the nicest coat she's ever worn! Thank you!

I'm 5'3 and 122 lb. Normally I wear XS for my clothes. If I wear a thin long-sleeve shirt or sweater, size XS is just fit. Therefore, I chose size S for extra room for bulky sweater. I have compared the sleeve length and the body length and there is no difference between size XS and S. Hope those information will be enough to help choose the right size.

Went to Chicago and it was -2. Thank goodness for this jacket as this California girl would had froze. I initially ordered a large and exchanged it for an XL as I knew I would be layering due to the weather. I'm 5'8", 180lbs

This coat is great for harsh cold and windy Chicago winters and also does well in snowier areas. Keeps me warm and is water and wind resistant. The magnetic snaps over the zipper are so nice to keep any chilly air from seeping in through the zipper. They do tend to catch on things when you take the coat off though but it's not an issue. This works to keep me warm on my city commute taking the train or waiting for the bus. Quite a bit lighter than my old Outer Boroughs coat which I was delighted about. Fits a bit loose as a size M at 5'6" and 150lbs but not loose enough to warrant going down another size in case I wear a thick sweater or layers underneath. The zippers on the jacket are a bit of a pain to zip up sometimes.

Oh my goodness this is exactly the coat I wanted. I love the curl over cuffs inside the sleeves. Perfect for that extra warmth when watching outdoor events. The front flap of the coat magnetically snaps over the zipper and feels like a hug. Love the hood which does not fall over your face. So happy with this purchase. Not oversized, but more of a semi fitted coat.

This coat is made for cold weather it is extremely well-made and comfortable. If you're looking for a coat to stay warm in while outdoor in cold cold weather then buy this jacket you will not be cold at all. You will be too warm if you wear this in a Car or indoors too long.

This coat was actually nicer than expected. I read a lot of the other reviews and wondered if I bought the wrong size, but it was perfect. I was also worried about the magnets and arm length but they turned out just fine. I ordered a Large Urban Navy and I am 5'9 165lbs. I would definitely recommend this coat for anyone living in colder climates.

Zipper takes some getting used to-L side goes into the R side, rather than the other way around--great for a lefty, not so great for a righty

I was choosing between this coat in a M, L or the WOMEN'S ARCTIC PARKA II in a L. I'm 5' 6", 145 lb, and my two non-negotiable fit parameters are bust / chest (30GG) and my long arms. Both the M and the L of this jacket fit pretty well, I wish they had a half-size in between, that would have been perfect! The waist band of the WOMEN'S ARCTIC PARKA II (L) hit me perfectly, but the shoulders were very tight and the bust was snug. There was more room for my shoulders in both sizes of the WOMEN'S DEFDOWN PARKA GTX, and I decided I preferred the no waistband look of this coat. The external pockets ARE AWESOME. Super deep so you don't have to worry about your gloves or phone falling out of them. And I wasn't sure I would like the magnets; yes, they do occasionally attach to a refrigerator etc., but after a week of wearing the coat I now firmly think of them as a pro. I wish there was a small velcro tab on the back outside of the hood to adjust its depth; it is perfect with a high ponytail, but if my hair is down it is so deep that I loose some of my peripheral visibility.

I have always had a North Face coat for the winter. This is my favorite so far. It's warm, it's waterproof and it's stylish. It's a comfort to have during my commute to work when it's cold and wet outside. A bonus for me is that the sleeves are long enough (I'm 5' 11").

This is my first city parka and I'm loving it! I like the minimalistic design and how warm it is. Living in NYC, it could get really windy between commutes and this parka is perfect for me.
