This coat is wonderful in every way EXCEPT. magnets have replaced snaps. Which would be fine if they stayed closed. I live in the city which means I'm in and out constantly and rarely zipper up. Every move causes the magnet to slide. If I shift my bag, if I bend to fasten the dogs, just walking while carrying a bag. It is SO frustrating. What a wonderful coat to have this really annoying flaw!

This is supposed to be a winter coat, but I can feel the cold go through at -10 celcius (which is nothing because our winters can go up to -30 or -40). I bought this coat once and felt the cold go through the sleeves. Exchanged it for another one and still had the same problem. Very disappointed because the rest of the coat is warm, but the fact that the cold gets in through your arms, cancels are the warmth on the rest of the body. Also, the leg area is a bit too large so the cold still gets in which results in cold thighs. The feathers comes out gradually so I would guess that this coat will not stay as warm with time. Expected so much more for a coat at this price.

I LOVE the magnet buttons and the cost is flattering. However the cost started pilling after 2 months and to return they only have the new version to exchange with which is completely different then the coat I wanted and loved. For the price I'm disappointed greatly in the fact the cost is pilling after only wearing to work and back. It is a very warm coat which is why I'm so disappointed in the fact it's wrecking and I can't get the same coat back.

It started getting roped on the elbow after 2-3 times I wore it , I was disappointed because the style and look was on point even the logos were a black.
Fortunately the North Face store was very helpful and they exchanged it for me .

I really wanted to like this Parka because I have been in the "sleeping bag" Metropolitan style for multiple years now and was excited about the warmth but also sleeker looking style to this jacket. I tested it out on a really cold day and did not find the pockets, nor my legs as warm as my previous poof jacket - disappointed but sticking with what I got! I love all that North Face does, this jacket isn't for below 32.

Purchased for winter. It's decently warm and water proof however the bottom fans out awkwardly and is accentuated by zippers that won't stay down securely, which also leaves room for wind/cold air to get in and so my legs don't stay warm. I'd say 2/3 of this coat doesn't hug the body securely. The main zipper also seems faulty and I struggle with this. Also, the magnets have become totally dislodged in the wash and there are no snaps so the coat only zippers. I like the fit in the shoulders, built in mittens and warm furry hood but honestly I preferred my Metropolis and this is not worth the $. Also size down.

I was really disappointed with this jacket. I wear size 8-10 and I ordered a L. It was way to big, not even an option. I went back to the store and switched it out for a M. I tried the M around the house for a few days. It was a tight fit on the hips and kept rising up on my hips creating this weird pouch on my stomach. So I had to return the jacket. The best thing about this jacket is the Gortex shell and the knit cuffs. The worst- larger faux fur trim, sizing, and magnetic closure in the front.

This was intended to be everyday jacket for cold weather. However, the troublesome zipper makes me think twice before wearing it, especially when I am going in and out of buildings all day. i was replacing another jacket with zipper problems and even practiced in the store, but I should not have bought it.
I have worn it a couple of times, so will North Face do anything?

I finally was able to take this parka on a small errand, and my arms got cold instantly. It is -28 Celsius with no wind, and sunny. This parka will definitely not keep me warm if I want to go for a walk.

Every time when I use dark shirt underwear, my shirt gets full of small white feathers.
This parka is heavy and not warm enough for New York City winter.
It also doesn't dress very well, especially in the belly, increasing the volume.
The magnets for closing are practical.

I had an Arctic Parka II that I sent to North Face for repair last year because it had a small tear in it. They couldn't repair it and sent me a gift certificate for $299. I decided to apply the gift certificate toward the purchase of a DEFDOWN Parka, figuring it was probably a superior coat because it cost more. I was wrong. The coat is warm. I will give it that. But it is heavy, the fake fur trim around the hood is freakishly long (to the point that it pokes me in the eyes, and I wear glasses), the magnets that line the zipper area get caught on metal objects like car doors all the time, and the fit isn't as flattering as the Arctic Parka II. I find the DEFDOWN Parka all-around annoying to wear. I emailed North Face customer service and shared my complaints and asked if I could exchange the DEFDOWN Parka for another Arctic Parka II, which costs less than the DEFDOWN Parka, noting I was fine losing the difference in cost. I heard back from a rep who clearly didn't read my email. He thought I was saying I never got the gift certificate and offered to resend it. I wrote another detailed email explaining what I had explained in the original email as well as here and never heard back. I finally gave up on resolving the issue, and I just went to the North Face site a few minutes ago and bought myself another Arctic Parka II. It is a superior coat in terms of fit, weight, construction and comfort. I was always perfectly warm in my original Arctic Parka II and loved wearing it. I can't wait for my new Arctic Parka II to arrive. I learned my lesson. More expensive doesn't mean better. I am an Arctic Parka II wear for life!

I bought this coat at the end of the last season hoping for a quality winter jacket. I live pretty far north, it hasn't even gotten particularly cold but I am already really regretting this purchase. There are cold spots on both arms and on the back of the shoulders. It doesn't even hold up at -10 degrees Celsius. If you're looking for a fashion item, this is very stylish and fits well. But this is not a reliable coat. Very disappointed. Not the quality I would expect from North Face.

I found this excessively heavy, stiff and bulky.
Can't speak to warmth or wearability because I returned it.

I am so so disappointed. I fell in love with this jacket in store, took it out on a walk at a park. Temperature is about 38 F and the cold air keeps seeping in. My arm and back was the first one that is cold. After spending almost $500, I did not expect to be cold, really disappointed in this item.
