At first I had accidentally ordered the wrong size so I had to return it and get a medium which for me I feel was a slim tight fit and I personally like to wear layers so I ended up sending back the medium and waiting for a large. The large fit perfectly, very comfortable and enough room for multiple layers. I'm 5'10 and 125lbs. It is long enough to cover my butt and long arms. The hood feels like a blanket wrapped around my head, very nice.

I love this coat! I've held out for the perfect cold weather coat and I think this one fits the bill. I stayed warm even during the polar vortex! My only complaint is with the zippers. Many of my North Face coats including this one are very tricky to get started with the front zipper. The side zippers are also kind of annoying since they are metal on metal (would have rubber or plastic coated them) to reduce noise since they jingle as you walk. Otherwise no complaints. Great product!

This is a warm coat. What I like it the most is that it has gloves hidden inside the sleeves. So you don't need to bring a pair of gloves. I usually pull them out when I feel cold in my hands and put them back when I don't need.

Love the warmth, however, three big complaints on design details: 1. The magnets are really a problem - they grab earrings when you bend over so your ears are then trying to stick to the front of your coat?! Also grab headphone wires, etc. NOT a good feature. 2 zipper is still sticky to engage at bottom of coat after months of use, and dark so hard to see and 3) interior sleeve hand covers bunch every time you go to put the coat on.

This is my second coat from The North Face. I love my other one but after nine years I was ready for a new one. The coat is very warm and when I put the hood up even the coldest weather does not bother me. I love that it has little sleeve extension that act like mittens. I am ambivalent about the magnetic closure on the coat . I like that it closes by itself as I zip my coat. I do not like that at times it will stick to metal chairs or pen chains. I am also a little uneasy about the warning that the magnets can affect my credit cards. I have not experienced any thing negative with the coat I find it very comfortable and highly recommend it.

Decent winter parka, the magnetic snaps are a nice feature. I ordered A size large and probably could have went with the medium with room for a heavy sweatshirt. I am 5’6” 155 lbs and typically wear a size 8 and sometimes maybe a 10 if I want room for comfort. I absolutely did not like the faux fur trim on the hood. It was extremely bulky compared to other coats I have tried. Though I have to say it was securely attached. I would like to see North-face add a Velcro tab on the back of the hood to make the hood tighter. If you are shopping for a warm down winter parka I suggest to give this coat a try. I did decide to return this I may decide to order the next size down to try out.

Decent winter parka, I prob could have sized down to a medium with some room. I typically wear a size 8 sometimes 10, I’m 5’6” 155. The large seemed a bit too big even if I needed a sweatshirt underneath. The material seemed like good quality, seemed like a few little feathers were already stuck to the outside of the fleece on the coat when I unpacked it. Nothing major but I was concerned about that being an issue. I did not like the fur trim on the hood, it was totally obnoxious! I love a fur trim hood and I just was not sold due to this. The hood and the fur was connected very securely though. The magnetic snaps are a pretty awesome feature I might say. I recommend trying the coat if your shopping for a quality warm winter coat. I feel it runs true to size I do suggest north face thin the faux fur trim and make the hood a tad bit more adjustable for a tighter fit, especially for the price your paying. Those little features are not much to ask for.

I like it! The magnets are cool, and i like the length. The black is cute with anything. Now im hoping it lasts to make its price worth it.

I recently moved from TN to OH and wanted to spend the money on a nice winter jacket. I was between Outer Boroughs Parka, Arctic Parka II, and this one, Defdown Parka GTX. The Arctic Parka was online only, and the material looked shiny, so I didn't get it. The Defdown is $30 more than the Outer Boroughs, but it has hand warmers built into the sleeves (which i thought were pointless until I forgot my gloves one day), and the magnetic snaps make the front of the jacket look cleaner without having to do the effort of the snaps. This coat is very very warm. I cannot wear it indoor more than 10 minutes without getting hot. Lastly, I like that the zippers for the legs are on the sides, and it's not a 2 day zipper as the only option. This makes walking easier. My only con is that the fur on the hood is HUGE and obnoxious. It's such a con, I really considered returning it. Because I will never want to use the hood unless I'm desperate. However, I am just hoping I get used to it. For reference, I am 125lbs, 5'5'', small chested, skinny fat body type. The XS zipped but if you wear a thick sweater underneath it would be uncomfortable. I got a small.

I really wanted to love this coat! It's beautiful and warm for Michigan winters. Unfortunately returned due to the long sleeve length

Bought expecting a warm jacket for Alberta winter ( -20/ -30) for the price. Anything below -5 and I'm frozen. On colder days I wear a sweater and a fleece jacket underneath and I'm still chilled. Definitely not a winter jacket !!

I was really looking forward to this jacket keeping me warm. Although we've had a warmer winter, we have had some days in the teens with wind. I have to say the jacket did not keep me warm. It's fine for temps up in the 30s. Not at all what I expected for this jacket. I guess I have to wear some layers, but quite frankly, that's not how I normally dress. On the plus side, I really do like the styling of this jacket. The magnets along the zipper are a hoot.

pros: Warm coat through the body Magnetic closure is a nice feature Hood is full, covers your face in extreme cold like an Eskimo Mitten storm cuffs are nice feature Cons: No warmth in the sleeves (not sure if this was supposed to be a venting feature?) Zipper quality the worst I have ever seen Side zippers are constantly coming undone. Main zipper splitting (after owning less than 39 days) Couldn't reattach fur with the zipper Mitten storm cuffs don't fit entirely over hands

I thought this coat would be really warm. I live in Michigan and I am disappointed at how it does not keep me comfortable outside. When I am waiting for the bus for my son or I am cold. If I’m not doing something like sledding where I’m working up a sweat I’m going to be cold. I bought the gray one and the hood fur is purple. It’s obnoxious in the daylight. The magnetic closures stick to everything I walk by. They stick to my car whenever I walk up to it and in the winter my car is covered in crime from the roads so my coat is always filthy. They stick to our doors when I go in and out also. I like the fit of the coat but I’d like it to keep me warm and not stick to my car.

A very comfortable coat that was true to size; however, I felt it was too long and looked a little shapeless on me. I'm 5'3" and about 125 lbs and the coat was not as flattering on me as the Arctic parka..

I really loved everything about this coat, but the zipper is just so bad that I have to return it. This coat isn't cheap, and the material is such high quality, why wouldn't you put some engineering into the zipper quality and placement? The zipper is too low, so you have to reach down at an awkward angle, and in addition it's just really hard to start the zipper up, everything has to align just perfectly. After that, the zipping and down isn't smooth. I can just imagine myself fumbling with this zipper every time I try to put the coat on, and that's just really unacceptable for the price of this coat.

It's waterproof and warm. I'm 5'4 and usually wear xs. I ordered xs and it fits everywhere except stomach. Coat fabric bunches up around stomach and looks bad.

This coat is just too big for my 5'2" frame. Waistline is too low and sleeves way too long and bunch up like the Michelin Man. It is a good quality coat though and could tell it would have kept me warm this winter but I had to return due to the oversized fit. North Face please add petite sizes to your product line!

Walk dogs daily this coat really blocks the wind, the hood doesnt blow off, it has huge deep pockets that you can zip to make small of big and it has sleeves with hand covers, there are magnets to help close the material over the zipper to keep out wind but the zipper sticks when zipping up and sticks worse when trying to take it off.
