This coat is phenomenal, especially for the price. Not only is it warm and wind proof but I find that compared to other brands, i.e. Canada Goose, this jacket delivers in terms of innovation. The magnetic "buttons" make bundling up quicker and more efficient, the built in hand warmers are great if you want to travel light and don't want to worry about losing a glove, and the side zippers allow for additional mobility. As a person who has low blood pressure and anemia, braving the NYC cold has always been daunting for me but having this coat to wear gives me some peace of mind.
I recommend trying it on before purchase as I feel the size of this jacket is better suited for medium to tall people. As someone who is 5'7 and 125 lbs the XS fit me perfectly. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase.

I purchased this jacket because I work outside a lot and I want to be warm on the cold upstate NY days. The jacket fits well. I went down a size from my normal size small. The hood is super warm and I love the magnetic buttons! It's high quality and perfect for cold weather.

I bought this in a L and then ended up ordering a M because I felt like I was swimming in the L. I am 5'10" 150lbs and 32 chest....and it fits absolutely perfectly. I normally have a lot of difficulty finding things long in the arms and this is perfect. I love the magnetic snaps so it automatically closes when you put it on, but caution, you will find yourself stuck to a grocery cart or the belt when you put your groceries up lol. Such a well made coat and beautiful fur on the hood. It is a lot of fur but once you unsnap the first snaps it loosens up the fur and makes it lay very beautifully.. I also got the red and the color is very vibrant and stunning.

super warm coat with great pockets on the outside to put your hands in or other stuff
lining makes it where you can put your hands inside instead of wearing gloves (but bring them if it is too cold).. It is a nice feature just in case you need a quick warm up in the hand area. the zippers on the side/bottom of the coat makes it where you have a form fitted coat or have a greater ability to move around /get ventilation

Amazing coat!!! Well worth the price. Looks and feels great. A little heavy but super warm and not huge a poofy like most other coats. Would definitely recommend.

My yellow lab loves long walks around our mountain neighborhood. Dog loves this parka too because we walk further and spend more time outside as I'm dry and warm.

I seriously love this jacket so much! The length is exactly as pictured and the fit is perfect. Not only does it keep me warm, it's also very stylish and I've received a bunch of compliments! My favorite part is the slight purple hue in the fur when the sun hits it!

So far, this jacket is everything I could want. It is so warm, even in the Chicago winter. I even find myself getting hot if I am wearing a sweater underneath. One of my favorite features is the built in mittens. I have used them countless times when I didn't want to carry around gloves. I also ride my bike to work in the winter so the zippers near the legs are great to give me mobility when peddling. Other features I love are the hood, zipper pockets, and the magnets along the front zipper. Overall, I couldn't recommend this jacket more.

My boyfriend bought this jacket for me as a gift. The red is a beautiful color. I wore it on a vacation to Colorado where it was below freezing the entire trip. I wore minimal layers under the coat and always stayed really warm. Super comfy. And the fur hood is beautiful as well

This coat is so great. Fits perfectly and it's super flattering. I hate the way most women's coats look on me because of the way they are usually cinched at the waist and flare out which makes me look way too curvy. This coat is looks very sleek and curves out just enough to look feminine without being unflattering. It's very comfortable and warm. I love the magnetic buttons in the front that automatically seal after you zipper and I love the nice long inner cuffs (?) which prevent any gaps between gloves and my wrists and also have a nice little fold over option to cover your hands if you don't want to put on gloves but don't want your hands to be exposed to the cold air.
Not a big deal but my only criticism is that the hood on the fur is a little wider than I would like so when the hood's up it looks a little whacky but it's fine I don't care.

I was looking for a warm parka for a long time. Went through most of them and feel like this one is a great choice. It's warm, windproof, water resistant, super warm and big hood, great packets, finally long... finally I don't have to worry about getting my bottom part icy and cold.
It's easy to drive, to wear to work, to walk a dog-any occasion really. The only one issue-I believe the warmth in your arms is a little less than in your body, so kinda feel like it's not enough...
Overall, super warm and soft. One more plus-I'm 5,8 and 143 lbs, ordered M-plenty of room and finally enough length for my arms and on top of that it's straight !!! Thank God! I'm pretty much the same from the top to bottom and usually I had troubles finding myself comfortable while having so much extra room around my hips but not with this one.

I was going to buy the boroughs jacket, then I saw this defdown at the store. This jacket was much better on me than the boroughs. It is surprisingly figure flattering and comfortable for such a thick heavy jacket. It is just perfect for cold city dwellers, love it!

I really wanted a warm winter parka that is both stylish and functional. Ive been wearing an Oakley Pro Rider Series parka for the past two years that is fine for very active outings but I want something warmer and classier for around town walking and outings. I had my heart set on the Cryos Expedition parka but my store only had the Defdown. I bought the Heather Grey color and was pleased with how streamlined and long the coat is. I'm 5'8" and the large reaches my knees in the back. The hood has a nice close fit and the faux fur is absolutely stunning. I love the soft fleece hand warmer mittens. I have long arms and these fit perfectly. My favorite thing, however, are the magnetic snaps. I can just wrap the coat around me and the snaps automatically close themselves! I usually don't bother to zip. I did notice that I tend to stick to anything metallic though; my dishwasher, metal doors, haha. My dilemma now is that I ordered the Cryos Expedition, also in Grey Heather. The fit is slimmer; tighter in the arms so I can't layer as much. Definitely much warmer, having 800 fill down as opposed to 550; but in a walk around my neighborhood in 40 degree rain, I didnt overheat. I didn't even need the side vents yet. I really wanted to be able to pick a clear winner and only keep one coat, but so far, I can't decide

Perfect parka for winters in NYC, blocks the windchill from the Hudson River. Is comfortable. And it has a nice and mordern aesthetic.

I am 6'0 tall and 210 lbs and the sleeves fit me great..I really have a hard time with finding long enough sleeves from Northface products but this coat was a winner! I do wish the coat shape wasn't so straight down but the fur adds a feminine look so it balanced out. You can feel the quality and is very warm. Great for Upstate New York winters!
