These are great shoes. Roomy toe box, excellent cushioning in the insole, cushioned back that hugs your heel. Haven't had them long so don't know how well they'll last but as new shoes, they are terrifically comfortable, in gym classes, on the trail, around town. Recommended by local podiatrist which is how I found them.

I have a large bunion on each foot. My bunions make it difficult to find comfortable shoes. I ordered these shoes in a size 7 medium. 7 medium will work for me in about 20% of the shoes that I try on. When available, I also try 7 wide. Sometimes 7 wide works, but sometimes it is too wide. I liked these shoes in the 7 medium, but they were a little too snug in the toe box. I decided to reorder them in a 7 wide. The 7 wide fits very well (just a little wider in the toe box than the 7 medium) and are super comfortable. So the 7 mediums are being returned and the 7 wides are a keeper!

Ariel has been my go-to shoe for many years. This version continues to work for my foot. It's a very sturdy shoe, and does well on long days of walking. I have a bad foot that was badly broken many years ago, and this shoe has been the best comfort/support/durability option for me. I tried a different shoe about 2 years ago and I promptly got plantar fasciitis. So, back to the Ariel for me! I do remove their insole and put my preferred one in from Powerstep, so that is how I get more arch support.

I love these shoes. Over many months, I have purchased five pair of the Ariels and two of the comparable Beast (men's). I have flat feet that are wide, these shoes give great support and align my legs and hips well; just SO comfortable. Please keep in stock and new color combinations would be appreciated!

Brooks Ariel is a wonderful supportive shoe for me! I just wish they made them in white, especially for summer months. I have pairs in navy, charcoal and a lighter gray.

My a Physical Therapist recommended I purchase motion control shoes as I am rehabilitating an ankle tendinitis and have flat feet. I purchased these as a second pair since the first pair turned into my outdoor muddy garden shoes. They are wonderful!

New Balance also has a motion control shoe that is great.

Brooks updated the Ariel 18 with a wider toe box and more snug heel fit, and I love it! The orthotic footbed is excellent and provides great arch support. Another positive of this shoe is there is absolutely no breaking-in period. I truly hope Brooks keeps these changes for the Ariel.

I begrudgingly purchased these because I have purchased plenty of foot wear and associated items to give me relief from plantar fasciitis. None of it worked well enough to make it pain free, until now. I have not been able to walk for exercise since almost a year now but with these sneaks I am back to walking. My heel still gets sore afterwards but I must say I am sold. I also thought they would look bulky but that also is not the case. I normally take a wide width but was told they run pretty wide so I purchased medium width. That was true also. If you have foot problems I highly recommend these sneaks.

I only buy Brooks, the last pair of Ariel's that I owned lasted me for 4 years. I called the shoe store that I always shop at and unfortunately they didn't have these in stock - Zappos had them to me within 24 hours. I need the added support for plantar fasciitis issues, and these are awesome!

These shoes have excellent support. They fit much like the Brooks Addiction Walker but with more arch support. Great choice for anyone with foot problems.

These have to be the most comfortable athletic shoes I have owned! The colors & fit are perfect, with a great cushioned sole. Haven’t worn outside yet, so I’m hoping these hold up well over time.

No breakin time required. Slipped them on and off I went. I do wish they were a bit more attractive and that there was a greater color selection.

I really like these shoes. I've worn Brooks before and need the extra width and arch support due to flat feet and overpronation. These fit well and I haven't needed to use my orthotics in them. I'm a walker and usually cover a few miles a day without any problem. I do wish there were more colors offered and really don't know why Brooks doesn't offer them. But I'm happier with the gray/thistle combination than I thought I would be and will probably order another pair.

Great shoe but I was looking for a workout shoe for aerobics. The toe portion of the shoe is larger giving it great comfort for a walking shoe but my foot moved around to much. It really help keep my foot straight when setting the foot down so if you are pigeon toed it is a great shoe.

I have a very wide foot and on top of that need an orthotic insert. I rarely find a good shoe to walk in. These shoes are great! I took a long walk yesterday and my feet feel. They are good looking, too.

I always order a size larger in the Ariel's and then they are perfect. I have severe over pronate condition and Brooks Ariels are the best that I have found. Yes I have tried many. My physical therapist recommended these and they were so right!

i have never written a review before but had to. these shoes SAVED MY FEET. no lie. i had severe achilles pain and swelling from years of wearing the wrong shoes with my super-flat feet. i was worried i would never walk without pain again. my feet even hurt at night, keeping me awake. i had invested a ton of money in various ankle braces, tried a bunch of different brands of shoes, super insoles, etc.....and then.........after a few hours in these shoes, pain GONE. I mean GONE. incredible. they work so well i don't even use my (expensive) orthotics.
