SO disappointed! This is my first Brooks purchase, and I went with this company because I was expecting quality. I loved these shoes when they first arrived--the design/color scheme and the overall feel was wonderful. I've worn these a total of FOUR times, and the heel collar is literally dissolving/forming holes--see pictures. Now, I'm thinking I'm going to have to return these. Is this normal for this brand? Not convinced I can be a loyal customer after this.

These are just not as comfortable as the 16s that I used to have. They feel too stiff on the bottom of my feet. The gray collar around to ankle has split open on both shoes (above the ankle on the inner side). This never happened with any if my previous shoes. Historically, the Ariel has been the only show that I can wear for running. Please bring back the previous design and color. Am not a fan of pink or purple.

I sent these back. The arch wasn't comfortable at all! I love my others though!

I've been wearing Ariels for over ten years, buying two pairs per year from Road Runner and rotating every other day. I walk 4.5 miles daily. My last Ariels were Ariel 18. I do not like them at all. I bought two pair in November and for the first time ever my knees and back hurt after my walk. I thought the Ariel 16s were the best for support & cushion, hugging the ankle,
however, could not find them anywhere once the Ariel 18s came out. I am truly disappointed in the "new" construction. Yes, they look more updated as opposed to the "clunky" 16's but the construction is like every other sneaker you find at the outlets. I am now going to have to find another shoe and another brand. Brooks has lost a once loyal customer!

While I loved the color this particular shoe broke easily. I've had three new pairs in eight months.

I loved my Ariel 16 so much. I got a sprained ankle from their new version. The ankle is much lower so it doesn't support it anymore. Every brand for ankle support did this over the last 5 years. I don't understand why. Are they trying to tell me and all my kind to stop exercising?

These shoes are horrible. Wore them twice for work and could barely get through my shift. Dug into my arches so bad I was miserable wearing them. Never been so uncomfortable in a pair of Brooks ever until I got these.

Purchased one pair but have needed a replacement, as the shoe was falling apart at the inner ankle (by the first eyelet) after less than 2 weeks of wear. They were exchanged for a second pair and it happened again after only 2 times of wear. Unfortunately, I had to request a full refund and kept the defective shoes. It's a shame as I've owned several pairs Brooks Ariel for the past 7 years but the 2018 models have been useless. I will need to find another brand for wide, flat feet.

This was the worst shoe I have ever bought. I really like the stretch print Brooks but could not find them on line; most of the Brooks shoes have changed and are very hard in the back of the shoe. The Ariel is very very heavy and extremely uncomfortable. I threw them out since had bought them earlier and did not realize how terrible they are; The Stretch print shoes were the best and are the only Brooks I would ever buy again;; Need to go to my local scheels store to try a new brand. Gycerin 16 are wearable but the back of the tennis shoe is very hard. will not buy on line again at Zappos to hard to know what they will feel like and do not want to return them. unless I find the stretch print Brooks which was pretty and very comfortable.

Extremely disappointed with the changes Brooks made to the Ariel. I have been wearing Ariel's for years and they provided good support and helped to correct my over pronation. I don't know what they changed in the design but the Ariel'18 is awful - the toe box is too narrow and the sizing is off. I normally wear a 10
and when I got the size 10 it was too short and when I got the 10 1/2 they were too long!
I'd also recommend:
Saucony has a sneaker that has a wide toe box moderate support but they don't match the old Ariel

I usually wear a 10 Wide in New Balance and I have wide, flat feet that over pronate - I wanted to give these a try, as the description sounded like they would be very supportive for my problem feet.....They felt way too wide and they didn't hug my feet properly. Perhaps I don't need a Wide in this style, but I also felt that they were unattractive and not fun looking at all, but like really unattractive! - I felt like I had Frankenstein boots on....back to New Balance I go!

I have been buying Ariel sneaker for many years. The 18 has totally changed. Much larger and not as comfortable. Not as snug. I ordered three different sizes. None of them worked for me, going down a size each time.

After 2 foot surgeries Brooks Ariel is the only sneaker I've worn for 6 years. I loved them. These are a total failure. They redesigned the whole sneaker. I bought 2 pair and after several months of wearing one I now have calluses where I never had them before. $160 I can't get back. I've never given a single star rating before but these sure deserve it.

These Brooks shoes are forever getting worse. Narrower, shallower toe box, and the sizing is crazy. Unfortunately, went back, even with a wide width purchase. The colors are sooo masculine and super ugly.

I was hoping that the Ariel 18 would be good for my feet. I wear orthotics, have bone spurs on both big toe joints. I need cushioning on the ball of my feet and these do not accommodate that. I was hoping they would. I also think that for that price, which I am willing to pay for a good fitting pair of shoes, is crazy!!!!!! These shoes are a no-go and have returned them. Zappos is really the best!
