Brooks has significantly changed this version from past versions. It runs much longer and wider and has much less support and comfort. I returned mine since they no longer fit and am trying some New Balance shoes instead. Too bad as it used to be a good shoe. Why mess around with something like this?

The fit and size were great, they felt true to size. The shoe isn't cheap, yet, I'm very dissatisfied. I haven't worn the shoes A good two months, and they're coming apart.

Beware. Brooks made significant changes to the Beast 18 shoe. The toe box seems a little more generous which I think was an improvement. The platform or sole width is also narrower The heel cup while softer and more padded is significantly shorter and now lacks the old V shaped design. As a result, I found my heel slipping in and out of the shoe instead of being locked in as it was with previous designs. I reviewed the other Brooks shoes hoping that they had kept the old heel cup design in other shoes, but from the pictures it appears they redesigned this on all of their shoes. I've been buying this shoe for about 10 years but will have to find another. ES

I've had Brooks Beast's in the past but these are not the same. Way too narrow. And worst of all, they make your ankles turn outward. I have orthotics with a lateral wedge to stop my ankles rolling outward. I took out the insoles, put in my orthotics, took 4 steps, rolled my left ankle & almost fell on my face! Thought ok, that's a fluke & continued wearing the remainder of the day. Throughout the course of the day, I ended up rolling my right ankle TWICE! The 2nd was bad enough for me to drive home & get my trusty NB 608's out. Put the orthotics in those & everything was fine again. I posted some pics, take a close look at the shape of the soles looking straight in line with the rear of the shoes. How anyone could walk in these WITHOUT turning/rolling ankles is beyond me! I've worn these maybe a total of 10-12 hours & now I'm stuck with a $170 pair of shoes I cannot wear. They look good & feel good on the feet, JUST DON'T ACTUALLY WALK & you'll be fine! I did try them without my orthotics & with the factory insoles... forget it! Extremely unstable. They felt like both ankles wanted to roll outward at the same time just standing. I'll be calling customer service, hopefully they can do something.

I'm not a runner. I'm old and arthritic. This shoe is sturdy and provides a lot of support.

I have feet that are consider low arch that's small and wide.... these shoes are one of the few that i can find that fits and provide enough cushion for working on hard surfaces all day and comfortable for jogging. My feet are very linear, these shoes are linear designed which makes it even better!

Those of us in Law Enforcement NEED this shoe in a all BLACK tactical version. I love these shoes but can't wear on duty because of the colors. There is a market here. LEO's carry 30lbs of gear on top of thier body weight and this is the only show I know of that is designed for heavier people. I wore my BEASTs all through the academy and loved them, but I can't wear them on duty because of the colors.

This is a good quality shoe, comfortable, feels good when I wear them. I've been buying these shoes for years. The only tennis shoe I can wear. Thank you for making these shoes. I walk on concrete most of the time. I purchase at 2 pairs per year.

These shoes are great! They fit better than any other shoes I have ever worn. My feet don't hurt or feel fatigued like they do in other shoes.

These shoes were for my son, who's 6 feet 7 inches tall and has flat feet. Brooks are the only shoes, where his ankles or feet don't hurt ! He loves Brooks!!!

I have two pair and wear them nearly every day. My feet have taken a beating over time and the support is just what I need now. I discovered Brooks back in the mid-80's when i tried their stability model to help control my pronation and wobbly strikes. I started wearing the Beast in the late 90's and have stuck with it ever since. It is a lot of shoe and it can feel heavy at times so it is not for you if you want a high-performance featherweight racing shoe. However, it delivers stability, comfort, and performance on all surfaces, and I probably would not still be running if I had not found the Beast.

The Beast 18 works very well for me. It is super comfortable with a spacious toe box. The cushioning and flexibility make this a great running shoe and an all day long walking shoe. The designers thought out every detail down to the premium laces. I've bought four pairs over the years and they wear evenly and last a long time. My favorite Brooks model. I recommend you try a pair.

Excellent shoe, great stability, sturdy, great support, long lasting, great quality. I love it and always replace it. "Cons" - which are understood as necessary for it to perform as a stability Beast: a bit bulky (expected for the performance), weight, wide footprint. this shoe provided me with stability that I needed to eliminate pain in knees and unwnated movement upon striking ground (overpronator)

I love the Beast sneakers. I need a sneaker with support and these are the best I found. I use public transportation in NYC everyday and the support is awesome.

I have had Brooks Adrenaline GTS 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18's and I always loved them. I got the 20's and they were terrible. No support, flimsy, the front and back of the shoe seemed to move differently. I got a sore spot in the middle of my left foot after 3 wearings that lasted a month. Sent them back. Decided the try the Brooks Beast 18 after reading reviews. Just solid, so much support, comfortable, not as firm or stiff as I remember the Beast from 10 years ago. They feel great on my feet and I am not thinking about them at all when I am out moving. I have been using them for 6 weeks now. Very happy with the purchase.

They have a great fit. The shoes are very comfortable right out of the box they don't need any break in period. I also like the laces that come with the shoes they stay tied and don't come loose. I wear them for walking not running and they work great for that. The best thing about this shoe is the fit l wear a 4e width and it's hard to find a good walking shoe that fits this well.

These are very good shoes. They are very comfortable and the wide size fits me perfectly. Unfortunately, I'm only using them for walking at this time, so the cushioning of impact is important for me. I broke my ankle some time ago, 2004, and my left ankle has been bothering me, even when I run on the treadmill. I am very pleased with my shoes, and I got them at a really great price!

These are great shoes. They provide good cushioning and have allowed me to start jogging again. I’m coming in at 195 lbs and expect to shed quite a few pounds with the help of these sneakers. They’re not the prettiest thing to put on your feet, but it isn’t a fashion show. I’ll take functionality over style every time when it comes to a good pair of running shoes. If you’re heavy and your knees or ankles bother you when you’re out pounding the pavement, slow down a bit at the beginning, walk, warm up well and give these shoes a try. You’ll be off to the races soon enough!
