The "Beast 18" from Brooks is the only shoe I trust with my weight for running, walking, or working out. I am six foot, 220lbs, but was once 270 lbs. The only shoe that has ever supported me 100%, regardless of my weight or physical condition, is this one. I would only recommend this shoe to any big guy. Best - Ivan

BROOKS FIXED THE BEAST - BACK TO BEAST 14 FIT!! I've been wearing the Beasts since ~2010 and get a new pair every year. The Beast 16 was too small, too narrow, and fell apart easily (the front started to wear quickly). I'm normally an 11.5 2E in nearly every shoe, but the Beast 16 made me get a 12 E4, and then it didn't feel right. The Beast 18 fits just like the Beast 14. I'm back to a normal size, the massive arch support is in the right position, and it just feels right. I could feel my knees relax on my first run with them. It seems weird, but trust me. If anything, it's worth a shot from Zappos as you can always return them.

Brooks made good on the Beast '18! The Beast '16 just didn't live up to the fit, stability and support in the previous years styles. My son has been wearing the Beast for years and when the '16 came out it was clear this was not the same shoe...we tried New Balance and they just didn't compare. Then the Beast '18 arrived and we couldn't be more satisfied! Back to the fit, support and stability he needs. His only complaint is that they don't make them in more colors...you know, some "cool" colors!

I love these shoes and am so happy that Brooks got the Beast 18 back into the same quality fit that the Beast 14 had a couple of years ago. These are by far the best bang for your buck if you have overpronation feet. My feet are so flat that these are the only shoes (so far) that have been able to help my ankles, knees and lower back. I couldn't recommend them enough. I do still have to put an orthotic insert into them to get the perfect fit. But that's how f'ed up my feet are. If I could afford it, I would buy 20 pairs just to have a supply for the next 10 years. Hey zappos! If you like this review, hook me up!!

I suffer from plantar fasciitis in both beet and these feel like they were made specifically for my condition. I would describe them as Cadillac Escalades for my feet... large and luxurious, but not necessarily the most fashionable! For what they lack in looks they more than make up for in comfort. I am not a fan of the two toned soles and they only come in 2 colorways, but these are by far the most stable and supportive shoes that I own which include the following stability/support shoes... Adidas Ultraboost ST, Brooks Adrenaline GTS 19 and Brooks Bedlam. Get them and your feet will thank you!

Limited color combinations. No "white".

Fit and Width are true. Shoe is a little heavier than my other pair of Brooks but they are sturdier and take more of the streets pounding off my feet. The trade off is worth it. I'm 270 lbs., so I'll take what I can get that way. Shoe is comfy and supportive. Yes, I can feel the little extra weight, but the tradeoff in keeping my feet from being sore after a run is worth it. I'll buy another pair.

This is a great show for heavier runners like me. It has excellent stability and as such feels like it does a good job correcting for overpronation. Although it has a very thick sole, it doesn't feel squishy or like you're running on springs. I tend to heel-strike and this shoe works well. The toe box is wide and comfortable. My only complaint is the color selection.

I purchased these for my Dad's 69th birthday and he LOVES them!! He is a big and tall guy - roughly 6'2" and XXL shirts. His knees have little to no cartilage after working on concrete for 45 years. Ouch! T he arch support in the shoes helps keeps his feet from tiring too quickly and keeping his feet in proper position also helping his knees and lower back. He also loves the cushion!! It's the best part about the shoe. The cushion!! It's like walking on clouds and it never decreases as he wears them throughout the day. His only complaint is the reflective strips on the top of the shoe catch his attention against the black color of the shoe. He finds it more humorous than anything but it was something to note.... just that one thing! Overall, Brooks really hit these shoes as a home run for anyone needing motion control shoes. I've been wearing these shoes for a week. They're my first pair of Brooks™, and their reputation preceded them among fellow plantar fasciitis sufferers. So far, I like these shoes a lot on the fit, comfort, and reflectivity metrics. Unfortunately, they lack traction on wet pavement. Here in Seattle, our pavement is wet most of the time. And we have hills...lots and lots of hills. I'm a cyclist, not a runner. I got these shoes to push my dog in a jogging stroller while he recovers from surgery over the next three months. I really have no barometer for how running shoes are supposed to behave on steep, wet pavement...only that these are prone to sliding.

The Brooks Beast '18 is the best one yet. Very stylish and of course offers the maximum stability support I need. Highly recommend!

I love these shoes, they’re light and supportive, they can’t be beat for their overall engineering. However, the last two pair of blue and greys have disappointed. The blue foot lining comes up off the sole padding and makes it difficult to put the shoe on. The shoes aren’t cheap, but it seems whatever adhesive they used to keep the foot lining down is.

I like these shoes however they seem to run about a half size bigger for me. I am sending them back and ordering a half size smaller in length, hopefully this will work. I wear orthotics and it is extremely difficult to find a shoe that works!!!!! I am female but have to order men's shoes because the width is wider and a better fit than women's shoes!!!! The more I read on Zappos I see that many women with foot problems have the same problem with fitting shoes correctly. I hope this works with the Beast shoe because I am down to my last shoe to try!!!!! I wish that shoe makers would take this into consideration when making shoes for women. Zappos is really a fantastic place to find shoes. I have given up on retail shoe stores as they are pretty useless when trying to find shoes that really work and different sizes. Thank goodness for Zappos!!!! Everyone should use Zappos its the best!!!!!

It’s pains me to not like this shoe. This is my second pair. My foot is wide and this shoe is a good fit but what has now happened again is the toe is too weak and a crease is created by my right big toe. I walk a lot and after less then a months use this shoe has developed a crease in the right toe that makes it impossible to wear. I tried size 12 last year also size 11 and 11.5 and it keeps happening but this time it happened within a month and since they are expensive I have no choice but to return them. In wish the toe was stronger.

I love the shoes. Brooks Beast is the most comfortable shoe for people with a low arch and wide feet. I wear them to work and have no problems with my feet at the end of the day.

I had forgotten what it felt like to have custom shoe built for me. Ok I didn’t forget because I never have had custom shoes built for me. All that being said these Beast 18 from Brooks felt custom, comfortable, a nice total foot support without anything cutting into you. And the absolute best arch support hands down!

I buy these shoes for my husband and also for my teenage son. They both have overpronation and my son has very wide feet. Both of them love these shoes. They are the first shoes that my son has worn and not complained about his feet or knees hurting at the end of the day. My husband says they are the best shoes he's ever worn and wished he knew about them years ago. If you or someone you're buying for overpronates, these shoes are awesome! The black and also the lighter gray are good colors - they don't look clunky.

The Beast is back. I love Brooks' Beast, and have worn out two pairs of Beast 14's, even though they are very tough, long-lasting shoes. I have a pair of Beast 16's and they are small and tight in the toe box, but otherwise supportive and comfortable. I have a new pair of Beast 18's from Zappos and they are wonderful. If you like support, stability and comfortable padding these shoes are unbeatable. They are heavy, so if you are trying to set a road speed record you might prefer a light shoe, but if you like to put on lots of miles and have foot or leg joint/muscle issues you will love them.

I've been wearing Brooks Beasts for more than a decade but finally wore out my last pair from a large 2008 purchase. Since that time, my feet have grown wider and flatter, so my 14Ds were starting to get a bit tight, especially later in the day. I first ordered a Beast 18 in a 14D, figuring the intentionally larger toe box on this newest model would suffice. Close, but not quite. I returned the 15D to Zappos in exchange for the black/grey color in 15EE. Perfect. The Beast 2018 is even sturdier and more comfortable than my old outstanding 2008 pairs, with an even larger and more stable and supportive lower sole and a very nicely designed and constructed upper. A lot of modern running shoes make you feel like you're wrapping your feet in thin plastic because, well, you are. Not so the Beast 18.

Great looking shoe, very comfortable. The toe box seems a bit narrow even though I ordered a 1/2 size larger and a wide. My big toes touch the sides of the shoe. Returning them.

Brooks always fit and feel good - but these are really plain and ugly!

These shoes feel heavy and clunky.

Does the collar, collar lining and/or the stitch and turn seam typically wear due to excessive/extended padding? Mine is showing scuff and wear at low mileage!
