I was born with flat feet so I do not want an arch. I look for a wide last and I thought this shoe would work better than it has. I took out the insole that came with it because the arch was very pronounced with it in, and replaced it with a ten seconds flat arch. Better but after walking I can still feel a hard arch digging in my foot. The cushioning isn't that good either. My previous shoe for walking around, and walking for exercise was the Brooks Addiction 11. It was much better for my feet than this one is. Maybe 5E width would have worked better. Without the Addiction 11 available I would have been better off trying a New Balance though I am just not impressed with the longevity of New Balance. I wouldn't buy it again for my foot type.

Disappointed in the style change. Will be returning because support is not the same as previous versions.

The "Beast18" did not fit as expected. Ordered 12.5 to get toe space (I have long toes) but the front of the shoe dome makes the shoe fit smaller than the size as advertised size 13 is too wide since I wear support hose requiring two pairs of socks to prevent blisters. For the cost of the shoe this shouldn't have been a problem in my mind so had to return them for a shoe with less dome on the toe.

This shoe offers very little support. Disappointed

Nope. Looked like grandpa’s orthopedic shoes but felt like I was walking barefoot on concrete. Sending these back ASAP.

I wanted to like these shoes but I couldn't. No cushioning in the ball of the foot. Brooks also has really lessened the quality of their shoes. There is no feeling of support in the width. You feel like your toes are going to pop out the side of the shoe. Lately all Brooks shoes are of lesser quality, not well made and they really feel cheap. For 160.00 plus tax, I would say these are not worth it!! The only shoe they make that I like is the leather Brooks Addiction Walker. Its still supportive, cushiony and a good walking shoe for people with orthotics or pronation problems. I had to send back the Beast 18.

Fell apart after 2 months of use.

I have worn previous Beasts and thus ordered a ‘18 model. I have a Morton’s Neuroma in my right foot and usually put an orthotic in my shoes. The pain in my foot was severe when I worn the shoe on two walks and had to return them.

This show was terrible. This was my 5th pair of the beast and the insoles are garbage and wear out in two weeks. Brooks kept sending them for free but they kept wearing out. The 18 and 16 suck in my opinion

I had to call and speak with them about the insoles. They began peeling away from the arch location within a week. This happened with the 16's as well but with those it took about 4 months. I'm disappointed that I have to change brands after the beast has been my go to shoe for the last 6 years or so. I never had this issue with the earlier models but now it happens one week in to wearing them. Very disappointing.

I had the two previous beast shoe and loved them! The 2018 beast was a huge let down!! No comfort, two wide and with extra soul inserts they still don't compare to the previous beast.

No more Brooks for me! Arch is not correct. These are not comfortable, arch pain! I have high arches, but only on the inside of my foot. Arch goes side to side. After market arch supports did not help.

I really wanted to like these shoes. I wear orthotics. I have arthritis in both big toe joints. For years I wore the Brooks Beast 14. Great shoe. I still have one pair left but they are on their last legs. This shoe, the 18 and the 16 for that matter, do not come close to the 14. Too bad. The last is not even close and the thickness of the sole isn't anywhere near what the 14 was. I to this date have not found anything comparable so I'm stuck at this point. Zappos is amazing. I wish shoe companies would stop trying to reinvent the wheel.
